Daniel's POV

Sneaking out of the Compound was very difficult, but I had an edge over the rest of the pack considering I was now Caleb's right hand so it was easy to maneuver ... .just not on this particular night.

I was almost caught…twice!

Something that has never happened before but I get it…..with the surprise attack earlier in the day, everybody was quite jumpy and scared, especially against another repeat performance.

It was quite easy to whisper words into well-placed ears that would carry over to the Regent pack leader, Sloane. All he needed to mobilize a team of wolves over here was the assurance that the security on the pack was weak and he struck.

Delaying and falsifying the reports they got on the search about Shadow was also easy…all that was needed was for money to change hands and the information they received to be corrected.

We can't have them finding out about Shadow and aligning with Caleb, not until it is the right time…
