I looked up from the floor and saw the beautiful brunette from the pictures. "Luna, this is Channing. She has just joined the pack," Allen announced. I saw her nod, then they both kinda zoned out. Probably mind linking. She gasped and quickly kneeled down to me. "What are you doing Lainee?" I heard a muffled voice in the room question. Luna, or Lainee stood up. "I'm kneeling before a warrior wolf. The Alpha of the Black Moon Warriors," she replied awestruck. Before I could even say anything a girl with black hair like Allen's popped out of the room looked at me before bowing like her Luna.

' I observed. 'Who hasn't heard of the Luna who found ways to bring her mate and Alpha back to life against all odds?', he said, smiling appreciatively at me. 'The great Millicent who killed a mighty Aloha Blake with a shot of her spear? The mighty female who rebuilt her birth pack with little or no assistance while still maintaining her status as Luna of the Moon Ville Pack?' 'Wow!' I said impressed. 'You know alot about me', I was impressed that he had summed up my life history in a few simple sentences.

Easton said, tightening his grip on the steering wheel. “What?!” Layla asked with wide eyes. She had guessed that they were lovers, but not that they were mates who had broken their bond. That was a far worse rejection. Aurora was an Omega, and she could have died! “No wonder Aurora is mad about the fact that Anabella is the current Luna of Moonlight Pack,” Layla said, but jolted forward when Easton slammed on the brake abruptly. “What the hell?” Layla muttered. “What?! Anabella is Luna?!” Easton roared, and Layla nodded, which made the man scoff. He glanced at Aurora to make sure she was still asleep. “That terrible asshole!” he muttered in a quieter voice.

She thinks I am a weakness to our pack and me not having my wolf at the age of 20 seems to prove her right. I am a few months shy of being 21 and I have yet to meet my wolf. Most females get theirs at age 16 and the males at 18. My friend Joyce and I use to joke that the Godess made sure the males knew we matured faster than them and that is why we see our wolves before them. However, once I turned 16 and had no wolf, the joke back fired on me.

*Eighteen years later* Luna rocks anxiously in her chair, while knitting a dress. Rora watches out the window. Jolene is sixteen and this year's full moon will be the one that unleashes her inner wolf. Every spell they’ve ever had put on her, will be broken. They will no longer be able to protect her. Rora suddenly Jumps up in excitement, and spins around nearly shouting, “ he’s here! Alice is here!” Luna jumps out of her chair so fast that the chair goes flying backwards. Neither of them take the time to acknowledge it. They are too busy running to the door to greet their guest.

“Flynn was born on the 1st of August. It is surprising how you look exactly like him” Luna Rolana took tiny steps towards me while Alpha Harlan stepped back. Her eyes narrowed on me, staring at me indecisively before she pulled me into a hug. “The moon goddess surely has a solution for every problem…” She pulled away and cupped my face. “You will save us and everyone in this pack” A faint smile crossed her face. I was still confused.

The lantern light danced along the blade. “It’s ancient,” he said. “Hundreds of years old. One of my family’s ceremonial tools. We use it to bind new members into the Blue Moon Pack.” Lydia’s heart began to pound. “You want me to… join the pack?” He nodded and placed the knife flat on the desk. “Yes. Temporarily—until we figure out what’s wrong with your scent and your wolf. You’re considered Luna… and my mate. If we can’t even mind link each other or connect with the pack, they’ll get suspicious. And that could cost us. Don’t forget—some of us are Lycans. The rest are wolves. But Lycans can sniff things out quickly.”

Four new Lunas had arrived since the day before, and Jeanette made sure I was introduced to them before getting everyone else settled in at the tables assembled in the greenhouse. “This is Luna Makayla Crestwood of the Red Oasis Pack, Luna Katherine O’Donnell of the Bloodmoon Pride, Luna Sarah Clark of the Silent Silver River Pack, and Luna Lisa Lawrence of the Raging Peaks Pack. Ladies, this is Alpha Selene D’Arcadia Volkov of the Opalescent Moon Pack.”

All the wolves in the pictures are white with the marking of a moon on their fur. “These are the past true Luna’s. They are like royalty, as they are the daughters of Selene. Legend says that the one True Luna will rise and will face many difficulties in her life. Those who are supposed to love and protect her will betray her. You!” I look at her before looking back at the painting.

Luna plopped down next to her block‑pack, not seeming to care that he’d chosen practicality over full‑immersion play. “This is Mama wolf,” she said, pointing to the dark one. “She bites bad wolves and fixes good ones.” “True,” Aiden said. “This is me,” she said, tapping the small bright wolf. “I’m not bitey yet. Rhea says ‘yet’ a lot.” “Also true,” Rhea said. Her gaze never left Aiden. “And this is storm wolf,” Luna finished, pointing to the one with the crooked leg. “He has a stick.”
