Lizzy, the human girl who was attacked by a rogue and saved by Alpha Alaric woke up the next morning after a night of merging with Alaric. Her body shivering in the cold air, the girl gasped in shock when she realized her body was naked under the covers and next to a stranger who was fast asleep. Lizzy tried to get up with a body that felt almost crushed. The effects of making love with an alpha may indeed heal wounds, but it also makes the partner's body suffer after lovemaking. The girl did not understand how she could end up like this. The last thing she remembered was riding in a forest full of redwoods. Then the horse she was riding took her deep into the forest and she fell into a ravine that became a wolf den. Her head ached as she tried to recall the events that followed. She thought her life had ended as a meal for the hungry wolves, but a miracle had kept her alive until that moment. Lizzy scanned the entire dark and damp cave, she thought of leaving the place immediately

"Alpha? You mean you're not human?" Lizzy asked in a high, panicked tone. "Yes, I'm a werewolf," Alaric replied flatly. "Don't come near me!" Lizzy reflexively dragged her body to the corner of the bed and started crying in a curled up position. Her entire body shook violently and the girl began to sob as she realized the harsh reality she had just found out. Alaric stared wide-eyed at the fear on the girl's face. The man sighed softly as he realized that it was not easy to convince his human partner to marry. Although he could coerce and was used to coercion, somehow this time he seemed unable to do so. "Calm down, I don't mean you any harm," Alaric coaxed in the midst of Lizzy's unending crying. His howl did not stop echoing throughout the forest, a howl that meant a call to every member of his pack. The Hunters prepared to draw their long-barreled weapons in a calculated manner, smiles of satisfaction on their faces as they assumed that absolute victory was within their grasp. The first shot aimed at Alaric's head echoed among the wolves' howls. The silver bullet nearly lodged itself in the Alpha's head, but fortunately only hit the wolf's ear. A burning, stinging sensation ran through Alaric's body, silver being his most obvious weakness. The next shots rang out in unison and attacked the dazed Alaric. The wolf was no longer idle, Alaric lunged at several hunters in a single attack and severed their throats in a single chop, but the shots from the remaining Hunter didn't stop trying to hit his body either.Alaric

The snow was falling heavily and the cold made the dark forest feel frozen. For who knows how long the hunters watched the dimly lit hut in silence and shivered, the tired and desperate faces behind the rifles demanding to be moved from their positions. "You must be mistaken, no one is coming out of there!" one of them shouted. "Damn it! I'm almost dead and buried under the snow, we'd better end this silliness!" the other hunters agreed. The five hunters of six started heading towards the place where their horses were tied and prepared to ride. Only one remained and confident that someone would come out of there, no matter how cold his fingers were, the hunter remained alert with his rifle and binoculars."Never mind Rein, there's no point in us staying here! We'll probably freeze to death without catching anything!" Rein, the most determined hunter stayed where he was, ignoring his comrades' pleas. "My hunches are never wrong and I'm sure there's something there. Go if you want!
