Lizzy, the human girl who was attacked by a rogue and saved by Alpha Alaric woke up the next morning after a night of merging with Alaric. Her body shivering in the cold air, the girl gasped in shock when she realized her body was naked under the covers and next to a stranger who was fast asleep. Lizzy tried to get up with a body that felt almost crushed. The effects of making love with an alpha may indeed heal wounds, but it also makes the partner's body suffer after lovemaking.

The girl did not understand how she could end up like this. The last thing she remembered was riding in a forest full of redwoods. Then the horse she was riding took her deep into the forest and she fell into a ravine that became a wolf den. Her head ached as she tried to recall the events that followed. She thought her life had ended as a meal for the hungry wolves, but a miracle had kept her alive until that moment.

Lizzy scanned the entire dark and damp cave, she thought of leaving the place immediately before the man woke up. Lizzy felt a great threat if she continued to stay in this cave, she had to try to find a way home before darkness came again. Her body might be tired due to the romance that she didn't realize, but the girl kept trying to walk to the mouth of the cave.

"Mate, where are you?" Alaric fingered the blank next to him with his eyes closed. His nose sniffed the air and smiled in relief afterwards.

Mate? Lizzy tried to understand what Alaric was saying.

"You don't try to get away from me, Mate," Alaric said after he got up from the pile of dry leaves. The yellow-eyed man observed the movements of Lizzy who intended to leave.

With the power of alpha control, Alaric made Lizzy walk towards him.

"Tell me your name," Alaric asked softly.

Lizzy was dumbfounded when she realized her body was walking towards Alaric and could not be moved according to her heart's desire. She cursed inwardly, unable even to utter harsh words.

"Lizzy Althea," the girl said with an overwhelming sense of annoyance. She wondered who she was dealing with now.

"Pretty name," Alaric replied without looking away from the girl's face.

"Why do you want to get away from me, mate?" Alaric asked, lifting Lizzy's chin so that their gaze was level.

Alaric moved closer to Lizzy then buried his face in the girl's neck and inhaled deeply the scent that was there. Alaric smiled contentedly after doing so for a while.

"Let go of me," Lizzy pleaded.

"I won't let you go, you're the one I'm looking for." Alaric took Lizzy into his arms and kissed her on the lips without any prompting. Lizzy kissed Alaric back and felt annoyed because it was the effect of the body and mind control that Alaric was still practicing.

Their kiss grew hotter, Lizzy gripped Alaric's back making him smile crookedly and speeding up the rhythm of their kiss even more. Both were breathing heavily when Alaric broke the kiss. The alpha dragged Lizzy back to the bed and pressed her down passionately.

"Your scent is so sweet and intoxicating, darling. This is what it's like to meet an immortal mate, I'm going crazy." Alaric bit Lizzy's neck and made the girl moan.

Every touch Alaric's body received made Lizzy feel like she was about to lose her mind. She never wanted this kind of touch, but what Alaric did made her fly and forget herself. Lizzy desperately held on so as not to be carried away by Alaric's game, but her body was against her mind. The girl sighed and moaned, accepting every taste Alaric gave her with blazing passion as well as real guilt.

Alaric's pheromones might have smelled delicious to any wolf who smelled them, but Lizzy didn't have a wolf's gift of smell. While Alaric was completely driven crazy by the sweet scent that Lizzy's body possessed. They made love for almost a whole day and for as long as it lasted Lizzy was under Alaric's complete control. The alpha is completely wild and horny, his passion is unstoppable while his partner is completely helpless. Lizzy whimpered and her tears flowed amidst the growls of Alaric who managed to reach the peak of pleasure.

Finally, Alaric bit back on his partner's shoulder with more force until his fangs rubbed against the girl's bone. Lizzy moaned and her tears flowed even faster. The girl was unconscious again after a long lovemaking with the alpha.

Two days Alaric waited for Lizzy to wake up from her deep sleep, during which time the alpha stayed by her side loyally and worriedly. Apparently the effects of the forced romance with him were more terrible than the effects of the rogue attack the girl had received. Alaric felt very guilty for forcing the girl to have sex and doing it violently.

Alaric did not understand why the Moon Goddess had given him a human partner who was physically weak, even unconscious after a long romance. However, there was no denying that the girl's scent was completely different from even the seductive omega pheromones. Meeting her eternal partner really made her crazy and stupid and forgetful. He seemed to have no recollection at all of his responsibilities to the pack that might be in need of his leadership.

Through mind-centeredness Alaric telepathically communicated with his betas to take command of the pack in his absence. In addition, Alaric gave Tala a message to send a watcher to buy clothes and food for Lizzy. Alaric forgot that important thing, his girl had not received any food since their first meeting.

"Pack members are forcing me to stage a coup if you don't return to the pack today." A voice that Alaric knew well echoed throughout the cave walls.

The man who was trying to start the fireplace was dumbfounded by Tala's sudden presence.

"I'm disappointed with your selfishness in putting your woman before our pack, Alaric," Tala said coldly as she approached Alaric.

Alaric immediately transformed into a large wolf and faced an angry-looking Tala.

"My mate has nothing to do with my behavior. I deliberately stepped away from the affairs of the pack and entrusted them to you, I told you why, didn't I?" replied Alaric, who did not accept Tala's accusation.

"And now they're fed up with your uncaring attitude! You need to return to the pack right now or I'm going to have to stage a coup."

"I can't," Alaric concluded.

"Because of that damn human girl, right?" hissed Tala with a spark of jealousy in her voice.

Silence hung between them.

"I'm disappointed in you not only as the beta in our pack, but also disappointed that you prefer that human girl to fuck you when I've always been by your side and loyal to you."
