Edan didn't want to make a new insult to Alma, he still felt guilty for how he spoke to her that same morning, that's why he left quickly, trying to control himself, although inside, he felt betrayed. With the fact that she talked about her contract, no matter who it was and whoever it was, he felt it was a violation of his trust.Besides, there was his inappropriate approach to that man, that simple Doctor, on top of all that, it was driving him crazy.Ever since Edan met her, he thought she was an honest, innocent, and kind young woman. Now, I didn't know what to believe about Alma."Edan, wait! He felt someone tugging at the sleeve of his jacket and turned around, still frowning. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean for anyone to find out, I understand the nondisclosure agreement and I know I failed, but I had to tell my mother the truth and Mateo listened..." Edan looked up at the young woman, his frown diminished, although his eyes still seemed somewhat dull. Alma, on the other hand, loo

Alma went back to the hospital, with the check that had just been given to her in her hands, she kept looking at him as tears streamed down her face. Why did the problems keep coming? Why did it all pile up? Why did he feel that everything was against him?"Enough of crying," she said to herself as she stood in front of the hospital, covered her red face a little with some makeup, and left, determined, to her mother's room.Everything changed as soon as he entered and saw her smiling faintly, at that moment he knew that it was all worth it and that, as long as they were alive, there was hope. But by that same afternoon, another unsettling thought was coming to her: Why didn't Edan show up?He was supposed to pick her up to visit her father, which was part of the contract and it was part of the show.As the hours passed, Alma began to worry. He even reproached himself for his stupidity, how could he not ask Edan for his cell phone number in case of an emergency? At least then, I could

Angelica's voice sounded loud.“Edan! I'm talking to you..." He turned around with a little start, and his mother looked at him contemptuously. "I was telling you that, before we go, I must give you something..."Edan turned to his mother, who was digging into her handbag. And while Alma seemed very focused on her talk with Ethan, she also kept a small part of her attention on Edan and his mother. Finally, Angelica took out a sealed envelope, which she placed in Edan's hands."Before I went into surgery, your father asked me to prepare this for you..." Edan looked at the envelope in his hands, confused. "He told me that no matter the outcome of his surgery, I should give you this from us and you should accept it..." It's a small detail because of their marriage, something small because of the circumstances. Edan opened the small envelope and before he could finish taking out what was inside, his mother finished. “ It's a trip for you, to a resort on the Island of Q, with everything pa

Everything was ready, the ambulance had arrived, the only thing they were waiting for to leave the hospital and transfer Luz Rivas to a prestigious clinic, was for Alma, who was taking longer than expected, to say goodbye to her friend."Why are you taking her?" Here we have taken good care of her, I have been keeping an eye on her personally and in a short time, she will be discharged. Matthew muttered in a desperate tone."I know, I know, I'm sorry..." And I thank you very much, but..." Alma muttered with some sorrow.“But? Mateo asked, changing his countenance, looking serious.“Matthew. Alma sighed deeply. "First of all, I must think of my mother's well-being..." And my family.Matthew felt his heart sink, he knew, he was sure, that everything Alma did and all the decisions he made, he did it out of necessity alone, in order for his family to be well.Without considering their own well-being."I'm worried—" Mateo began, glancing sideways at Edan, who was scowling at them from a di

The restaurant was as beautiful as the rest of the resort, elegant, full of lights, with fine glassware, everything seemed to sparkle for Alma's eyes. While, in Edan's eyes, the one who shone the brightest in that whole room, was Alma, who wore a beautiful pink dress with embroidery. The newlywed couple dined with the Waltons and although for Edan, the talk was tedious, for Alma, it was entertaining, since, once again, the champagne had given her more confidence in her words. The conversation was mostly trivial, and Alma seemed to have a knack for getting along with people, for before long, the Waltons were laughing along with her.Suddenly, however, the conversation changed course."How is your father, Edan?" Bill Walton asked.“Recovering. Edan murmured, taking a sip from his glass.“I'm glad!
