Chapter 14 – The Supper

The news of Edan's father's surgery was a pleasant surprise, however, Alma couldn't get it out of her head that it would change things a lot.

The contract was supposed to cover a short period of time, a maximum of one month, which was the maximum life that Mr. O'Connor was given, but now that he had had the heart transplant, what would happen?

For the time being, Edan explained that everything would remain the same, only now, they would visit Mr. O'Connor at the clinic, but that did not convince Alma at all.

However, he had no choice but to hold up his end of the bargain to at least secure his mother's treatment.

And since the contract also stipulated accompanying him to some extra activities, such as family gatherings, Alma couldn't refute much when Edan informed her about the upcoming family dinner.
