CHAPTER 011

SYLVIA I paced around my room, trying to calm my racing thoughts, hoping no trail was left to be tracked. Lina who laid on the bed few mins away, had already slept off. The door swung open with no permission, and Tasha walked in with a mean look spread across her face, with pride all over her as she moved in staring round with disgust. "Lina, get up. " I said to my daughter with heist tapping her up from her nap. "Mama, but why? I'm tired and want to rest. " She replied looking lost yet with sadness enveloped on her face. "Go play out with the other children, I have a visitor, you can come later to rest. " I demanded as she looked pissed at Tasha and hopped out to play. "Welcome back to the pack," Tasha said, as her sarcasm dripped like venom. "I see you're still as beautiful as ever, Sylvia." She added as she paced her study heading for a mini chair by the bed. My heart sank. I hadn't expected her to confront me so soon. Fear crept up my spine, making my palms sweat

The warm bright sunlight danced across my face, but my mind wasn't on the beauty surrounding me. What must have happened to them?. The Thoughts of my stepmother, Vivian, and stepsister, Emily, lingered through my mind. It had been years since I last saw them. Would the have died by the curse of the pack? Or were they banished for their evil acts? Curiosity gnawed at me. What had become of them? I pondered even more deeper. I entered the pack, my heels echoed off the marble floors. The staff bustled about, preparing to round up their daily services. I wove through the chaos, searching for a quiet moment to gather my thoughts together. I walked into a mini library designed specifically for the children in the pack, I ran my fingers over the spines of the leather-bound books. Memories of me hiding among the book shelves as a child, trying to escape Vivian's wrath, fl

I'll rather end this conversation and talk to my charming Sylvia. I thought to myself. She paused her retreating steps, as uncertainty etched on her face. "I'm sorry i don't want to interrupt, I can always come back later" she exclaimed retreating few steps backward."Please, come in. We were just finishing up," I insisted.
