Chapter 41

Jade's pov Getting awakened by pounding on my door I stumbled out of bed in the darkness to open it. Not bothering to peek out the peephole I flung the door open to see Gregory standing there. “What are you doing, Jade?” Blinking my eyes up at him I was lost for words. “My mom died, and I was with her; why are you here,” I asked him in return. “I'm sorry about your mom, but we need to get you far away from here,” he rushed out as he glanced down the hallway and shoved me back into my room, slamming the door behind himself. Waking up more from his manhandling I furrowed my brow and glared at him. “I don't know what your issue is, sir but I'm going with my father when he comes to my room,” I growled sourly. “That is wonderful, Jade. So where is he?” Glancing over at the alarm clock and seeing it was only five in the morning I pointed to my right. “Next door,” I yawned as I rubbed my eyes. “Okay, stay here while I go and knock on his door,” he mumbled softly befor

Chapter 42

Jade's pov “Can you contact Conri?” I asked my dad as we boarded the small plane. “I don't know his number, but I can send a text message to Richard and ask him to find it on the Council site and let him know what is happening," he answered reassuringly. “Please do!” Getting seated I buckled myself and glanced out the window while my dad sat next to the pilot. “This is a nice plane,” Elina commented in my head and I shrugged as I glanced over the plush interior. It was small but luxurious. “I wouldn't know but it appears nice. I have never been on a plane before,” I replied, and she snorted. “Be mindful of the turbulence,” she snickered as the plane started to move down the bumpy runway. Not understanding what she meant I asked my dad. He waved his hand around his head, indicating that he couldn't hear me over the engine, so I shook my head and returned to staring out the window. The sound of the engine was bothersome, and once we were in the air, my ears felt clog

Chapter 43

Jade's pov Standing in a field outside of the plane we had just landed in I stuck close to my dad's side since I was now the Fugitive known as Mary. Daniel had tied my hands loosely together in my front from the tie he borrowed from Jamison. Thankfully, we had arrived a few miles from our destination and were only waiting for our car ride. The pilot was getting refueled to return to his home. Coming to my side my dad smiled. “You're starting to show,” he commented on my slightly protruding abdomen. “I know, Dad, I need looser pants. It's a good thing that Aiden’s sister is a little bit larger than me, or I would have to unzip these,” I muttered, and he nodded. “We will leave from the Providencia port, and Conri will be there,” he informed me. Nodding, I asked him about our ride. Pointing down the road he said, “Our Lada Vesta is on its way.” Turning I saw the faded blue colored vehicle heading toward us. “That's a sedan, Dad. Are you certain that you will fit ins

Chapter 44

Jade's pov Finding myself standing on Aiden's porch I started vomiting on the stone under my feet. My head hurt and my equilibrium felt off. “You should have kept your eyes closed, stupid,” Raven snapped as she started pounding on the door. Wiping off my mouth I tried pulling away from her when the door opened but failed in my attempt to break free. Glancing at the open door I saw Gregory give me a disappointed glare. I mouthed the word sorry to him “Your brother is in his office looking at the council website and the Turgenev contract. Take her to him,” he said sternly. Giving him a pleading look he gritted his teeth and watched Raven start to pull me through the downstairs rooms. Glancing back at him I saw him on his cell phone and hoped he was contacting my dad or my mate. “Come along you pathetic excuse for a queen,” Raven snarled as she opened the wood door of a room and shoved me inside. Falling to my knees to the carpet I winced and narrowed my eyes at her

Chapter 45

Jade's pov “Is it true Jade?” Turning to Gabby I asked her what she meant. “That you are the queen of everything, and Conri will become the King of Kings?” Pinching my lips I nodded and grinned slightly when she burst into joyful laughter. “Oh my, the council couldn't have gotten a nicer pair,” she said honestly and patted my back as her eyes traveled to my baby bump. “I better find something to fit over your pup but still make you lovely,” she mumbled softly while rubbing her chin. “Could you call Monica and ask her to come? I want her to watch me marry her son,” I offered. Lifting her index finger in the air she shuffled herself into Monica’s suite and lifted the telephone receiver. Holding it in her hand she waved at the closet. “There are some lovely dresses in Monica’s closet that should fit you. Try on the pale sage green one it will look nice with your eyes,” she suggested before she started talking on the phone she held. Laughing, she hung up and said, “Con

Jade's pov “Have I harmed our pup,” Conri asked me in worrisome concern as he watched me sighing. Laying on his bed in the afterglow of our quick mating, I stretched my arms over my head and sighed happily. My pup was perfectly fine and I didn't have any pain at all. Elina was telling me that my daughter was healthy and fine and she found no polyp or issues within my uterus. “I feel like I was lied to by that Emma doctor. I don't have any adverse reactions from our joining. Elina told me our little princess is healthy and there are no issues, so no worries, my handsome, satisfying mate,” I murmured to him. Receiving a quick peck as he carefully rolled over me and our pup I giggled. “I love you with all my heart, body, and soul, Jade…My sweet little queen,” he said between nibbles on my neck. “Let's go shower before Mister Sour Puss comes pounding on our door,” he suggested, and I nodded. “I'm going to miss you,” I told him somberly. Brushing my chin he teased, “I will be back

Jade's pov After helping Gabby clean up and ignoring her telling me that I shouldn't be doing anything, I laughed and said, “Well, I am the queen and want to do this, so please allow me.” Monica was shaking with her laughter as I scrubbed the plates, rinsed them, and handed them to her to dry. “Goddess, she's going to be just like you, Monica," Gabby chirped, then whipped her towel against Monica’s butt, making me chuckle at them both being childish. “Ouch you old brat,” Monica bleated to her friend and gave her a noisy raspberry. Theo came into the kitchen next, carrying the dirty towels Conri, and I had left in the King’s room. Bowing his head he asked me if I intended to stay in his Highness’s bed until he returned. Nodding, I told him that I did and his mouth went into a straight line. “Gabby, find our queen, a female as I will be off duty until Conri returns,” he said firmly, and I glared at him. “I will tend to myself, sir, and if you show me where the washin

Chapter 48

Jade's pov Feeling a drip against my cheek I cracked open my eyes and could only make a blurry silhouette of a person standing over me. “She's coming back,” a feminine voice asserted and I opened my eyes wider to see that bitch Raven standing there with Monica and Aiden. “Why is she here,” I asked harshly. Seeing that her brow was creased in worry with Monica I frowned more in confusion. Aiden cleared his throat and stepped closer. “My queen, Raven, is gifted with blue hellfire from Lucifer himself and can kill or heal with it. She saved your life and that of your daughters after Monica went into hysterics over losing you both,” he explained. Rolling her eyes Monica glared at the Russian king. “You forced her to help after you told her what she said about your mate along with Conri wanting to be allies,” she spouted. I eyed all of them. Feeling the emptiness of my abdomen, my lip quivered. “My pup?” Monica rushed to my side and held my hand. “She is so tiny t

Jade's pov “I will have the doctor speak with you, dear. I'm sure that Adeline will be here for a while but I am not certain about you. Give me a moment while I go find him,” Monica said softly and left Conri and me. “The kings that I visited were concerned about you being a Turgenev but I assured them that we didn't wish to annihilate them like the former King and Queen with that surname. I explained to them that you were a kind-hearted and benevolent queen,” Conri informed me, and I scrunched my mouth. “My past relatives must have been real assholes,” I muttered and he chuckled. I eyed Monica coming back in with a frown and sadness in her eyes. Curious about the reason I asked her. “Boris is returning with Aiden and Gregory. He's also taking the small male back with him because he knows who Lucas’s father is and wishes to return him,” she said softly. “I'm so sorry Monica,” I responded and watched her shake her head. “I'm done with males, Jade. I will do fine on my o

Chapter 50

Jade's pov I slept like the dead missing Monica and my father leaving the room together after she covered me up with my blanket. If I had, I would have scolded Monica for being overly flirtatious. My dreams were of Conri and our daughter playing happily together. I was smiling in my sleep when I was rudely shaken awake. My eyes widened at the huge, well-groomed stern, stern-looking man glaring at me with red-tinted eyes. “Highness, I am Gideon Lander and must take your statement on the female Raven…,” he paused to reread the document in his meaty hand. “Formally Volkov. I don't read demon surnames well,” he grunted sourly. Awaking fully I sat up and rubbed my sleepy eyes. “You're the new assassin who took my father’s place on the council,” I stated and he gritted his teeth. “Yeah, tell me what the half-breed did so I can rectify it. The council just orders the hit, and me being a gentleman, I prefer the reason why a female is a target.” I almost laughed at him, saying he was
