BRIAN’S POV “Shit!” I exclaimed as I came out and found the man dead and Steven pacing angrily. “Did he say something?” I asked Steven, “Were you able to get anything out of him?” I asked, hurrying to the man. I lifted his head up and it dropped right back, with his blood still drooling from his mouth. “He said nothing, Brian,” Steven replied. “Shit!” I exclaimed again, keeping the chair by the leg. The man strapped to the chair tumbled backward. “Whoever this is has to have these men under oath,” Steven said, “because why the fuck are they all willing to take his stupid identity to their graves?” Steven's tone was rising and his face showed visible fury. “We have to do something,” I said, pacing the room. “What can we do?” Steven queried, “we've done everything we possibly can, what more can we do?” “I don't know Steve, something, anything!” I yelled, “I'm not a fucking animal, man!” I said, kicking some of the beach sand in the air.“112, come in,”“Come in, 112,” we heard

BLAIR'S POV “112 reporting, 112 reporting, come in,” I called, very early the next morning. “112,” the first caller responded, “we can't seem to trace your device, situation report?” He demanded. “Yes, sir, I think it's damaged,” I responded. “Abort mission for a hundred men sir, Brian Craig is in custody,” I said.“What?” The boss with the animated voice exclaimed in the background.“112, you had better not be playing games with me,” he said, in a threatening tone. “You know how serious this is to Master X,” the caller said,“Master X, I have Mr. Brian Craig, I just need a vehicle to convey his unconscious body, sir,” I said. I didn't know if he could tell how shaky my voice was, as I uttered every word, shivering from the tip of my hair to those of my feet. “An agent would pick you up in a vehicle in four hours, 112,” the caller said, “be there,” he said, disconnecting the call. I took a deep breath, hiding my fear. I knew Brian only needed the slightest chance to ask me to

BLAIR'S POV CONTINUES The police had barged in on the scene immediately and Steven led them to the part of the apartment where I left Brian. “Here,” the kind officer handed me a handkerchief, which I placed on my face, drying my tears. “They shot him,” I said in a shaky voice, amidst tears. “They killed him,” I continued in lamentation, seated at the back of the police vehicle. “Ma’am, we can assure you that these men would be brought to book, and we would do all we can for Mr. Craig,” the police officer said. There were five vehicles of the police and while seven of the men had gone in with Steven, about ten police officers surrounded the apartment with ammunition. “This is the BPF, you are surrounded. This is the BPF, you are surrounded,” one of the officers kept calling. The continuous sirens and flashes, noises and gunshots had me shivering and I couldn't bring the flow of my tears to a stop. ‘It’s all my fault,’ I thought, watching the apartment exit closely in anticipat

BLAIR’S POV CONTINUES I slowly opened my eyes to a beeping sphygmomanometer above my head. My vision was blurry at first, but I couldn't miss the white ceiling of a hospital and the drip bag above my head. ‘Brian,’ it hit me. I tried to get out of bed, but was pressed back by an unforgiving headache. “That's okay, you need to rest,” I heard a familiar voice, as a hand held me down into bed. “Steven?” I questioned my sight. “I'm here, I'm right here,” he answered. My heart was gladdened by the sight of him, but the bulk part of it, weighed down by thoughts of Brian. “Brian,” I called.I was weak in every muscle of my body and couldn't bring myself to articulate a full sentence. “We have to focus on your recovery,” Steven said, “First, you need to be strong enough to get out of this place,” he said. ‘This was a joke, right?’ There was no way I was recovering, if he didn't tell me everything I needed to know about Brian and whatever it was that happened in that apartment. “Ste

BLAIR'S POV CONTINUES The officers and Steven all rushed out, and for the first time in three days, they forgot to lock me in. I got out of bed and immediately snuck out of my room. I only had one mission, ‘to find Brian,’ I hid behind one pillar after another, looking for the most private or most secured part of the hospital, where I was hoping to find Brian. I peeped through one glass opening after the other, hoping to get a glimpse of Brian in one of them, but my search was yielding no fruits, five minutes into the search. “What was that?” I heard Steven's voice and the footsteps that followed. I hid behind a pillar. “We don't know, probably a bird?” One of the nurses replied. I peeped and saw them heading to my private room. ‘Oh, no,’ they were going to have a search party raid the hospital in no time, once they noticed my absence. “A bird couldn't have done that much damage,” the officer said, “Whatever that was, find it,” the commander instructed the other officer, wh

BLAIR'S POV CONTINUES “What?” I lifted my head up and found Brian disconnecting the tubes. “Brian?” I was appalled and couldn't seem to wrap my head around all of this. “What is happening? Where are we going? Shouldn't you be in a coma?” I threw question after question as he got out of bed, changing his hospital robe into a casual jogger and plain shirt. He held my hand and strictly instructed me to be quiet. My heart was beating really very fast and I just couldn't take it all in. I followed him as quietly as we possibly could, sneaking from one hidden room to the other, or one pillar to the other. The hospital was disorganized, all in search of me. Brian seemed to have made a home of this place and got us out in no second, a red Dutch Muscle met us outside the hospital. We got in the back and the vehicle zoomed off very quickly. “Brian, what is happening?” I asked, shivering terribly. He held my hand tightly, giving me a reassuring feeling, but my questions still needed a

BRIAN'S POVWe got settled in at a bungalow I was hiring for a while, and as happy as Blair seemed at the time, it was obvious, the curiosity she carried in her eyes. It was impossible to quench her desire for knowledge. It was a decent apartment at the end of town and very secluded. It had a garden behind the house, and a little orchard in front of it. It was surrounded by white wooden fence and had a red roofing. It looked different from anything in town, speaking but luxury and simplicity.I loved it! The owners had died in a plane crash two years ago, and since then, none of the town members would rent or buy the property. It is believed to be haunted, since the then owners were conservative people and had Halloween as their favorite holiday, which was the only time where they were seen out in public. It had three rooms, and I paid for it to be properly cleaned before our arrival. I had it well thought out, no one would ever find us here.“Well, welcome to peace,” I said, a

BLAIR'S POV We stared at each other for a few seconds, and he headed to get the door. “My. Bro,” his tone immediately got excited, “that was fast,”Stephen walked in, and himself and Brian were locked in a tight embrace for a while. I thought their relationship was one of the most beautiful things to behold. I got jealous of Steven every time. Brian trusted him with his life and he knew Brian more than anyone else in the world did. My relationship with Brian had definitely gotten better, but a part of me couldn't help envy what he had with Steven, and although I understood the strength of blood ties and wished that Brian would start looking at me as family too. I saw him as my world. The excitement to see each other was evident in their broad smiles and the lightness of their voice. “Hy, Blair,” Steven said, walking into the house properly, with Brian shutting the door behind him. “Hello, Steven,” I waved at him with a broad smile. “I see Brian helped you recover from the sh

BLAIR’S POV CONTINUES“This is an age long business rivalry Blair, and it's war.” Brian threw it to my face.“I lost my father to this, and my twin Bruce,” Brian spoke from a depth of pain. “So, yes! It's very much personal,” Steven bent his head, supporting it in his palms. “Winchester is a very competitive business world, Blair, and all is not in black and white,” Brian said. His tone revealed peak emotions, and seeing him resulting in an outburst filled me with fear. “If not for whoever these monsters are, my father would still be alive, and so would Bruce,” he said, pointing out the door, “heck, I would have been dead, If not for Steven here,” he said. “And I am getting no rest, until every last one of them, everyone is resting six feet in the belly of mother earth,” he said, finishing with heavy breaths. He stared at me, breathing heavily with bloodshot eyes, like a monster that was about to devour me. I was trembling in fear, and couldn't also deal with his outbursts. “T

BLAIR'S POV CONTINUESIt took two days to get a stable location for Master X. For the next two days, we watched the red, blinking dot on the digital map move from country to country. Master X didn't find any rest in forty-eight hours, and we grew weary of following beelines. Brian barely spoke to me or Steven during those two days, seeming absent-minded and intensely focused on the map, taking sips from his wine glass. His behavior in the last forty-eight hours was worrying, and Steven insisted we didn't engage him beyond what he was willing to share. He had developed a strong drinking habit; his wine glass never left his hand, nor was it ever empty. Anytime I tried to speak, Steven would immediately signal me to let him be. We were both worried about Brian, and I feared he might hurt himself, but Steven didn't think of that.It was day three of watching an unstable criminal across the globe, but this time, it didn't take more than three hours for the tracking dot to come to a st
