BLAIR’S POV CONTINUES

I slowly opened my eyes to a beeping sphygmomanometer above my head.

My vision was blurry at first, but I couldn't miss the white ceiling of a hospital and the drip bag above my head.

‘Brian,’ it hit me.

I tried to get out of bed, but was pressed back by an unforgiving headache.

“That's okay, you need to rest,” I heard a familiar voice, as a hand held me down into bed.

“Steven?” I questioned my sight.

“I'm here, I'm right here,” he answered.

My heart was gladdened by the sight of him, but the bulk part of it, weighed down by thoughts of Brian.

“Brian,” I called.

I was weak in every muscle of my body and couldn't bring myself to articulate a full sentence.

“We have to focus on your recovery,” Steven said, “First, you need to be strong enough to get out of this place,” he said.

‘This was a joke, right?’ There was no way I was recovering, if he didn't tell me everything I needed to know about Brian and whatever it was that happened in that apartment.
