Chapter Thirty

Aurora’s POVI was blinded by tears as I sprinted down the hall in a bid to get away from everyone and I didn’t stop until I was outside the Pack House. Behind me, I could hear someone yelling at me to stop but I didn’t listen as I continued running. I must have run only a few yards before I felt someone yank me back, causing me to almost topple to the floor. When I turned around, I was met with Michael’s angry face breathing down heavily on mine. The fact that it was he who had come after me made me even more disappointed than I already was. I was so pissed at the tragic turn my life had suddenly taken that angry tears immediately seeped into my eyes.“What the fuck Aurora?” Michael asked loudly. “It’s not true right? Or is it?!” He barked, but I couldn’t bring myself to speak.Naturally, I knew I owed everyone an explanation but not Michael! Not the same Michael who was a chronic cheat and a liar! Heck, I had nothing to say to him because he didn’t deserve it!“Answer me!” He bac

Chapter Thirty Two

Aurora’s PovThe house is quiet when I arrive. I’m grateful for the lack of life in it and I hurriedly make my way into my room. I sit in silence reflecting on everything that has happened so far. How had I gotten to this point? Everything was a mess. I wished sleep would claim me but for a long time it didn’t and I laid awake and alone with my thoughts. When I was finally asleep it was only to be interrupted shortly after by knocks on my door. I looked around to see it was already morning. I ran my eyes as I went to answer the door. Rose was waiting to inform me that my dad was asking for me downstairs. My heart skipped several beats at the thought of seeing my father. I quickly washed up and went downstairs. Dad was sitting in his study but his usual warm expression was gone. He looked at me solemnly. I nearly backtracked out of the room but I reminded myself that I had to do this. He had every right to be angry anyway. I was surprised when my dad asked about my well-being first.

Chapter Thirty Three

“You’re a disgrace!” Emily spat as she watched the pathetic brat cry in front of her. Anger nearly consumed her whole while she watched Aurora’s display.“You’ve been sleeping around right? And now you don’t know whose child is growing inside you.” Emily added but Aurora only continued crying. It was so irritating to watch. She hurriedly made her way out of the room while thinking about the new development. She fumed as she drove to the Pack House. Emily nearly went mad when she discovered when she found the guest room empty with no traces of Michael left. She threw a chair in blind rage as she screamed and cursed Aurora. Michael had obviously discovered Aurora’s deceit yesterday and ran off. The cowardly bastard hadn’t even thought of consulting with her before abandoning the Pack. Now that there was no Michael, there was no reason for Aurora to leave anymore. Father might be angry right now but she knew there was no way he would kick her out. Everything had been going so well up

Chapter Thirty Four

Aurora’s PovAfter the scene in the dining room, I went up to my room to relax for a bit. But soon after, I started feeling restless. It would do me no good to lock myself inside all day, so I decided to go to the clinic. I decided to take the path through the forest as usual. As soon as I stepped into the forest, the scent of nature enveloped and calmed me. It was like I had stepped into another dimension where time seemed to stop. Out here, I was unbothered and it felt like I was just floating through the forest as I walked. All of a sudden, I heard the sound of a fast-approaching movement behind me. I turned to see a wolf running in my direction. I watched as the wolf got nearer, thinking it would run past me. It was at the last moment that I noticed the crazed look in its eyes as it pounced on me. I fell to the ground with a heavy thud. ‘What was that all about?’ I thought as I sat up dusting twigs and dirt from my body. I looked around to find the wolf circling about me and g

Chapter Thirty Five

Aurora’s POVA few days had passed since my encounter with Klaus. I hardly stepped out of my room, opting for my food to be brought to my room instead. I refused to see my dad even though he had come knocking a few times. I needed the solitude to decide what to do next. By the third day, I decided that I had spent enough time being cooped up. It was time to face the real world. I dressed up and made my way to the pack house. I was intent on clearing things up with my dad. My dad looked up in surprise when he saw me at the door. “Dad… we need to talk,” I said pensively “Dear… come in. How are you? I’m sorry about the other day. I shouldn’t have reacted in such a way,” My dad said looking sheepish. Guilt was written all over his face. “It’s fine Dad. I understand it must have been very shocking, not to mention disappointing.” I said while taking a seat. “No dear… I am sorry. It was a misunderstanding, that's all. What do you want to talk about?” “Dad… The thing with Michael and th

Chapter Thirty Six

Aurora’s POV A few days later, I was packing my things to leave for my new home. I sighed wistfully thinking about the last time I had to leave. Then I had a choice, but this time I was practically being forced into leaving. I cursed Klaus for what must have been the millionth time on that day. My dad had been powerless against Klaus’s command. In the end, I had chosen to leave to prevent a war from breaking out. I had no doubts that Klaus would make good on his threats to destroy my dad’s kingdom if I wasn’t handed over willingly or if I tried to run. I rubbed my stomach absentmindedly, once my baby was born, I would be vindicated and hopefully free from Klaus. I stepped out of my room carrying only one suitcase containing my essentials; packing everything I owned felt like I was leaving forever. So I packed only a bag to remind myself that this was only temporary. Downstairs, my dad was waiting for me with a solemn expression and my heart nearly broke at the sight. I

Chapter Thirty Seven

Aurora’s Pov The thought of being alone with Alpha Klaus sent slight thrills throughout my body. I licked my lips nervously, suddenly aware of every movement he made. I could feel his eyes on me as I walked into the tiny bedroom. Thankfully this room had a functioning door and I pressed myself against it after locking it. Was it just me or the temperature had increased by several degrees? ‘What exactly was I scared of?’ I thought, echoing Klaus’s words. I was a grown adult who shouldn’t be getting excited about being alone with a man I clearly hated. I patted down my dress and resolved to remain as calm as possible. When I reemerged from the room, I found Klaus pulling out some packs of what I assumed was food from a cupboard. A pot was already sizzling on the stove. This was not an image I could have conjured in my wildest dreams. The big bad Alpha was cooking! “You must be hungry," He said while stirring the pot. “No,” I replied begrudgingly. Before I could turn

Chapter Thirty Eight.

Aurora’s POVThe Blood Moon pack was unlike any Pack I’d seen before. While it was very modern, it gave off a secluded vibe. There were no neighboring packs. The blood moon pack was literally cut off from the rest of the world. It looked to be the kind of place where everything that got in or out was well monitored. However, the streets were bustling with activity. I looked around eagerly as we drove through a vibrant market. Sounds of laughter, conversations, and music filled the air. I had initially felt like the Blood Moon Pack was an isolated cage but the ambience of the people here proved otherwise. “Would you like to buy something?” Klaus said. Why did he always have to say something? It was hard enough to ignore him while he was silent but when he opened his mouth, his voice was something I couldn’t ignore. “Ermmm…no” I was starting to think he was bipolar. Nice one minute, cruel the next. We remained in silence until we stopped in front of a massive building which I assume

Chapter Thirty Nine.

Aurora’s POVThe sound of approaching footsteps brought me back to earth. I opened my eyes in alarm at the realization of what I had been anticipating. If I could slap myself I would have. How did my feelings switch so quickly between anger and lust? Would I really have let the man I hated so much kiss me? “Come in,” Klaus’s voice was back to its authoritative tone. Two young women appeared wheeling in trolleys of food.“Come, let’s sit.” Klaus led me to a small table overlooking a window. I was still reeling from our encounter, I couldn’t form any arguments and could only follow. The ladies set down different plates of food in front of us while taking peeks at me. I wondered if they could feel the tension in the room. I was still trying to calm down but Klaus appeared totally unfazed. Why was I the only one reacting so awkwardly? When our eyes met, he smirked knowingly at me. My cheeks heated and I quickly averted my gaze. This was bad. Very bad. I looked around the room, desper
