Adam's POV    "Tell me you've managed to get it done," I told Sally as I walked out of yet another impromptu meeting with an investor.     Madeline's scandal had caused me a headache. A huge headache, the size of Everest. I always knew she was crazy, I just never thought I'd bear the brunt of her insanity- again.     "We're working on it-" Sally said and I resisted the urge to yell. I was sure she was trying. I just didn't like that it took too fucking long!    "It's been a week, Sally. A whole fucking week!" I growl, my feet hitting the ground rapidly as I march to my office. I had tons of files to read through. I had a presentation meeting in Greece the next day. I had so many things on my plate, I didn't need this hassle.  

Eve's POV  When I heard Adam's voice on the other end of the phone, I almost passed out in joy. I didn't think I would hear from him ever again. Especially after the whole meeting with Tom had happened. I tried not to think about him.   Keyword: Tried.   Suffice to say, I failed miserably. He was all I could think about when I was alone. I could still remember my drawing of him I had made days ago. The sheet lay under the mattress I sat on. I couldn't risk Tom discovering it and so I had chosen the safest option I could think of.   And then I had spent the days that followed, trying to resist the urge to draw him again or look at the picture I had drawn of him. Eve's POV "Come out!" Tom's voice echoed through the empty basement. A beam of light poured into the dark place. I glanced up from my crouched position, staring up at the opened door. It was morning. I had stayed in the basement overnight and sadly, I wasn't dead. My hopes of a quick and easy death were dashed to pieces. I would pick death to this madness anytime. This wasn't living.   I didn't think it was.  "I said come out!" Tom hissed, peering through the door at me. "Do you intend to stay there all day?"  I made no move to stand up and simply just stared at him. How could I have been so foolish to trust him? What had fooled me? His eyes? His looks? Tom's POV Work had been hectic as hell. After rounding up a couple of meetings and ensuring we were on track for a project, I was ready to go home. I had been quite busy as hell.  I wanted nothing more than to go home. I strode out of the house into my car. The ride home was quite short. I hummed as I drove through the gates of the house. Swerving the vehicle into the garage, I walked into the building, tired as hell and ready to get ready for the night when my eyes fell on Eve in the living room.  My heart nearly stopped.   She sat on the sofa, dressed in a loose gown. But that wasn't what startled the crap out of me. It was the bag beside her. It wasn't a handbag, or a flimsy purse. It was a traveling bag.   "Where the hell do you think you're going?" I snarled, narrowing my eyes into slits. What on earth was going on? 

Adam's POV "Will you be needing anything else sir?"  I glanced up from the document I had been going through on my laptop at the door. My maid, Paula, stood there, peering into my study.  It was late. I had arrived from the office about three hours ago, and the time on the clock was a few minutes past eight. My eyes drifted to a small coffee table where Paula had dropped my dinner on an hour ago. I hadn't touched it. Hell, I had forgotten all about food until she showed up.  "Nothing else, Paula. Thanks," I told her and turned my attention back to the document. It was an ad plan the marketing team had put together. I had to make whatever corrections I could and quickly.
