Eve's POV
Tom cocked his head to the side, looking down at me as if I was some lost little lamb and shrugged.
He shrugged!
As if my questions didn't matter to him. Or as if he had something to hide. He was being indifferent.
If he hadn't known about my father's death, he would have been shocked to hear it from me. He should be surprised, but instead, he shrugged.
Fury.
I felt it pulse through my veins as I lifted myself out of the corner and lunged for him, grabbing his shirt, slamming my fist on his shoulder repeatedly.
"You knew! You knew my father died! How could you keep it from me? How could you make me miss his funeral, you cruel wicked man?! How could you do this to me?!"
"Let go of my shirt!" He snapped, glaring down at me.
Eve's POV"Come out!" Tom's voice echoed through the empty basement. A beam of light poured into the dark place.I glanced up from my crouched position, staring up at the opened door. It was morning. I had stayed in the basement overnight and sadly, I wasn't dead. My hopes of a quick and easy death were dashed to pieces. I would pick death to this madness anytime. This wasn't living.I didn't think it was."I said come out!" Tom hissed, peering through the door at me. "Do you intend to stay there all day?"I made no move to stand up and simply just stared at him. How could I have been so foolish to trust him? What had fooled me? His eyes? His looks? His art of cajoling? I had trusted Tom through it all. Even when he seemed shady, when my family rejected him, when he was a nobody. I had trusted him..But now? I was done. I didn't want t
Eve's POV"You are going nowhere!"He looked mad. His blue checkered shirt bunched around his shoulders as he folded his arms. His eyes glared at me, threatening to turn me into ice. If this were a normal household, if this was any bit like the home I had grown up in, I would ask him how his day was and what he had done for the day.I would ask if work went well. I would ask if he missed me.But this was no happy home. I was delusional to think that if I remained meek and calm, I could make him a better person. I was delusional to think I would not lose myself in the process. Because I did.I lost myself. And then I lost everything else that was precious to me.My family. My life. Everything.Visiting my mother was the first step I was taking to make things right.&nb
Tom's POVWork had been hectic as hell. After rounding up a couple of meetings and ensuring we were on track for a project, I was ready to go home. I had been quite busy as hell.I wanted nothing more than to go home. I strode out of the house into my car. The ride home was quite short.I hummed as I drove through the gates of the house. Swerving the vehicle into the garage, I walked into the building, tired as hell and ready to get ready for the night when my eyes fell on Eve in the living room.My heart nearly stopped. She sat on the sofa, dressed in a loose gown. But that wasn't what startled the crap out of me. It was the bag beside her. It wasn't a handbag, or a flimsy purse. It was a traveling bag."Where the hell do you think you're going?" I snarled, narrowing my eyes into slits. What on earth was going on?
Eve's POVI picked up my bags, all four of them: the three that Tom had thrown out and the one I had packed for myself and walked out through the gates. I could feel the heavy gaze of the security guard on my face as he opened the gates and let me through.Embarrassment burned on my face, making me feel every inch like a miserable person. And wasn't I really?I had just gotten thrown out of the house by my husband who did not care about me or about anyone except himself. A man I had trusted for ten years, who still hid my father's death from me and went to extreme lengths to make sure I could never see my mother.I had been foolish.Tears rolled down my eyes as I walked down the estate. Why had I waited for him to arrive? I could have just left anyways, I could have just gone to see mom and he would
Adam's POV"Will you be needing anything else sir?"I glanced up from the document I had been going through on my laptop at the door. My maid, Paula, stood there, peering into my study. It was late. I had arrived from the office about three hours ago, and the time on the clock was a few minutes past eight. My eyes drifted to a small coffee table where Paula had dropped my dinner on an hour ago. I hadn't touched it. Hell, I had forgotten all about food until she showed up."Nothing else, Paula. Thanks," I told her and turned my attention back to the document. It was an ad plan the marketing team had put together. I had to make whatever corrections I could and quickly. The ads had to be ready in a month. And yet, I had been unable to focus. Ever since the day before, I found myself staring at documents blankly, while my mind was fixed on something else entir
Eve's POVAdam drove into the car park of a rather huge and fancy hotel. It had lights everywhere, making a colorful sight and was a whopping fifteen storey building. If this was any other day, I would have admired the view. But now, I stared blankly at the scenery until Adam turned off the car engine and we got out."Come," He said, placing a hand on my back. His hands sent warmth through my whole body. I allowed myself to think about those hands only. Those hands that had touched and stroked and caressed every inch of me. The only hands in which I felt safe.God I had missed this. I had missed him. This was probably a wrong time to think about him like that however. He had just come to help me. Without him, I would be stranded like a fish out of water.Horror slid over me as a thought dropped into my mind. What would I have done if Adam hadn'
Adam's POV"Is that all?" I asked Lillian, gesturing at the stack of documents I had just signed through."Yes that is all," She replied, and whipped out her tablet with fucking godspeed. "Next you have-""Cancel it," I said gruffly. When she glanced up to look at me, I was out of my seat, grabbing my suit jacket."Well you certainly are in a haste to go," She grumbled. "What should I tell Field and Co? They have a meeting with you.""I pay you to help me come up with excuses Lillian, give them something." I replied, strutting out of the office.I had to see Eve.I hadn't seen her the day before due to work. Lillian had dumped a damned load of documents to go through and it was quite alarming just how much paperwork came with being a CEO. How I had so much sh
Madeline's POV"Fold?" The croupier, a tall lanky man, dressed in a black crisp suit and had the worst french accent I had heard in my entire life said, peering down at me.I gave him the stink eye and reviewed the cards in my hands. Ah crap. My cards weren't looking too good. But if I quit the game now, I would lose my money. I had walked into this damned casino to double my money, not lose it all at a game of cards. .But hell, my cards weren't good at all. We had gone a total of four rounds and they were looking terrible. If I had counted properly, two spades and a couple of hearts wasn't going to do me much good. The grins on the other faces of my fellow gamblers told me that much."Fold," I told the croupier with a sigh and rose to my feet. I suppose I had no chance to win today. I would win some other time.Besides, when I married Adam, I would have
Eve's POV"Madam?!"Ah crap. I snuggled deeper into my husband's arm, wishing Nuren would disappear. Why on earth was she at our door?!"Madam?! Madam you have to wake up!"No I do not!"No she does not!" Adam yelled groggily, hugging me tighter. He must be mad at her for running our sleep as well."But she has to!" Nuren said stubbornly."Ignore her," I mumbled to him, running my hands over his skin.He hummed in response. "It's a fucking Saturday. We ought to be allowed to sleep in,""Not like
Eve's POVGolden. He was all I could see. All I could feel. His scent drove me heady and aching with desire. I gripped the counter, hanging on, waiting, anticipating.Cold air whipped against my exposed skin as he yanked down the dress and tossed it aside. His breathing was ragged as he trailed kisses down my arched back, to my ass.He let out a hiss, smacking the cheeks, sending painful thrills up my spine and down to my pussy."Adam," I moaned, pushing against him. "Oh please, please."‘Ah fuck, I love it when you beg," he mumured huskily, giving me another smack. Heat pooled between my thighs and my juices spilled down my thighs. Another smack and soon he had me writhing and mewling begging him to give me what I wanted. What we both wanted."So fucking eage
Adam's POVI watched Eve walk side by side with her mother on the patio. It had taken a great deal of work and patience to convince her mother to come. I had to send the video of Tom molesting Eve to her and that seemed to change everything. That seemed to reveal the truth. They seemed fine now, happy. They had hugged and held each other for hours, weeping buckets while I stood there watching. It tore me to bits, seeing her cry. But she needed it. I knew that."You did good," Mother said, joining me on the balcony where I stood. "I'm sure you've made her very happy.""Thank you mother," I murmured while taking a sip from my brandy. "That was the goal.""Oh," my mother arched her brow in a manner that told me she had something else to say. "And the goal
Eve's POV"Wake up Eve,"A pair of lips teased and tickled my ears. I moaned, melting deeper against his touch. His very familiar touch."Mhmm," I purred, moaning softly as his hands stroked my arm."Are you up, my pet?"Oh I was . I was now. I had spent the past few days in Adam's arms. But as much as I enjoyed his presence,I feared that it would all end. I tried to push away those thoughts, telling myself that I was just being paranoid. As I opened my eyes, I saw his face looming over me, a smile playing on his lips. It sent a shiver down my spine and a soft sigh slipped from my lips. Adam leaned in closer, his eyes darkening with desire. The air between us crackled with tension.“Hey,” I whispered.“He
Eve's POVAdam drove us down to his house. Nuren had cried her eyes out when he had announced to everyone else that he was taking me with him. With the way she had cried, you would think Adam was carting me off all the way to the moon. But I was sure she was only too happy for me.The drive was quiet. And yet it felt so... Peaceful. The days after the incident at the warehouse had felt like that. Slow and peaceful and it was good.In the meantime. His house... Scratch that, his mansion was huge! The gate creaked open as we approached, revealing a long driveway lined with blooming cherry blossom trees. The mansion loomed ahead, its grandeur taking my breath away. Adam guided the car to a stop in front of the massive oak doors, and I stepped out, feeling small against the backdrop of opulence.“I thought y
Adam's POVFour days. They passed by in a blur. I couldn't remember much about what happened, but I could remember how I felt every single second.Afraid. Terrified. Devastated. Nothing had prepared me for what I had seen. Nothing had prepared me to lose Eve.When Tom had shot her, I was pretty sure I went mad. It had taken Micheal and the police to pry me off a bloodied Tom by the time I was done. The ambulance took its damned sweet time to arrive so while I called the pilot to the private jet, Micheal had checked her wound and helped do first aid. And I had held her in my arms on the flight home.Pale. She grew pale rapidly. Her pretty skin had lost its color until she looked so drained it terrified the shit out of me.I could feel the weight of her in my arms, her breath shallow and weak against my chest. Panic surged thr
Author's POVWell duty called.Micheal Hamilton sped down the road that led outside New York city, a happy grin on his face. One would think he was on his way to attend a freaking birthday party with how excited he looked."Will you stop grinning like that?" Adam who sat in the passenger seat said with a concerned look. "It's fucking creepy man."Micheal chuckled and took a sharp turn at the same time, earning a glare from his best friend. It had been a while since they left Isabella Stone mansion and frankly he had expected Adam to rain down his questions.Instead, his best friend behaved as typical as anyone would expect Adam Stone to. He sat in the passenger seat quietly, occasionally glancing at him. If Micheal had to guess , he would say Adam was trying to connect the dots and figure out who or what he was exactly.
Adam's POV"Your mother says, your little miss Eve is hanging around somewhere,"Those were the first words Micheal said when I met him at the gate. He had the damned cocky grin on his face as if something permanently amused him."Perhaps I do," I chuckled, slipping my hands in my pocket. "With that grin on your face, I'm not so sure I want you to meet her.""Oh please, I have to. I need to know the woman who makes you do the craziest of shit," Micheal crackled, walking ahead of me into my mother's house."Try not to say shit when you meet her,""Shit like what?" he asked innocently and I just knew he was going to try something crazy when he saw Eve.We stopped by Mom's study to say."Hello, boys," Mom greeted us with a warm smile. She looked
Tom's POV"That bastard!" I spat as I scaled down the wall with Eve, gritting my teeth in disgust.I had watched him stroll with her. As if she were his. As if he had the right to.Now it all seemed to be clear. To be so fucking clear."Take her to the spot," Barlow ordered, jumping in right after me. "I'll signal the men."After a whole damned argument session with Barlow, he finally agreed to help. But what could possibly be much more valuable to Adam Stone? If we could get him to take back the charges and then say he had come up with the fake proof and lied that we were trafficking then everything would be solved. There was nothing the word of a billionaire could not accomplish. But the problem however had been discovering how to make Adam Stone give in. I had snuck into his mother's hou
