Chapter Seventy One

Lisa PoV“Aurora didn’t say anything?” I asked, shocked by what Klaus just told me.“She might be angry at us, but Aurora wouldn’t do anything to harm us,” Klaus explained with a soft smile, “she knows something terrible will befall the pack if Maximo finds you here. Besides, she still believes in you, in the prophecy.”A new wave of guilt and anger washed over me once again. Aurora and Axel had once again risked their life to save mine, and what did I do to repay them? I tried to ruin their relationship with my childish infatuation.“I’m really sorry,” I said to Klaus as tears slowly streamed down my eyes, “I never should have kissed you. I never should have…”“Hey,” he whispered gently and placed his hands on mine, “it’s not your fault. Besides, it takes two people to kiss. We both kissed each other. So you shouldn’t beat yourself up about it.”“But…” I tried to argue. I firmly believed it was my fault. That it was my rotten luck that led me here, and I was about to infect them w

Chapter Seventy Two

Maximo PoVIt’s been almost a week since that magical child escaped my grip. And how she escaped was still a mystery. That was why I hated working with other people. They’re always inept and eventually let you down. Some even let you down repeatedly, no matter how many second chanced you give them. “Take for Axel for example,” I growled, “the idiot lost the pack I worked very hard to give him. And tried to lie his way back to my side.”There was a limit to foolishness, and Axel and his lackeys had definitely passed theirs. I had them locked in the prison yard till I know what to do with them. I stood up and began to pace my room. Jack had it custom made to suit me. It was wide and spacious, just like I love it. He’d initially stuffed the room with lots of modern mundanities, but I had them removed. I’ve survived without modern vanities for so long, and I intend to keep it that way.The only furniture in the room was the bed, a bed stool, a small table pressed against a northern wall

Chapter Seventy Three

Lisa PoV“You do realize I’ve been cooped up in here for more than a week,” I groaned, sprawled on the bed. “I know,” Belinda replied with a smirk, “I’ve also been counting the days of the week with you, child.”“I want to go outside,” I complained, “take a run in the woods, go to the market, take my wolf for a spin. She’s beginning to rouse you know. Soon, she’ll be back.”“Good to know you’re getting strong enough to dream of going outside,” Belinda smiled, “a couple of days ago you were recovering from your death sentence.”I sighed and jumped back on the bed.“Look,” Belinda got away from a strange medical equipment she was fiddling with and came to sit on my bed, “I know you want to go out. I understand that perfectly, but you know it’s not safe.”“I’ll be careful,” I hastily replied, “I promise.”“Fine,” she sighed, “I’ll tell Klaus when comes by. He’s the Alpha, only him can give the permission.”“You know what he would say,” I pouted, and tried to mimic Klaus’s voice, “it’s n

Chapter Seventy Four

Melina PoVWhen Ramona directed me to Madam Guo, she told me the old lady would tell me everything I needed to know. Apparently, the old lady had a different definition of sharing information. All Madam Guo did was point me in the direction of a pack and told me to find Lisa. And she wouldn’t say anything more.I was pissed when I left her place, and muttered angrily to myself as I made my way to the supposed pack where the prophetic child resides. “Why couldn’t she just tell me the name of the child she saved?” I muttered angrily, “that would have saved me a shit load of time.”Apparently, the old lady didn’t trust me. In her words, ‘I need to protect my daughter.’ “What does she think I’m going to do?” I continued my rant, “announce to the royal family of the wolf kingdom that a werewolf is colluding with a witch to end the war? Isn’t ending the war the exact reason I’m here.”Madam Guo’s adopted daughter was the one that made the report to the academy through Madam Guo. Knowing w

Chapter Seventy Five

Aurora PoV Irritated and annoyed didn’t even begin to cover how I felt. I was conflicted and in a dilemma. It was hard to ignore the fact that Lisa and Klaus had kissed, which meant I hated her and had every right to. Then again, Lisa’s the prophetic child. I was not entirely certain what the prophecy was all about, but I knew she had a huge role to play in ending the war. I felt obligated to help her achieve her destiny, but I couldn’t look past the fact that she’d kissed my husband. Or the fact that those two had spent a night together. Or the fact that Klaus had risked his life for her. I knew Klaus and Lisa were close, but I’d always imagined the relationship was more like a brother sister relationship. Nothing prepared me for catching them intimate. In fact, never in my wildest imagination did I ever think Klaus and Lisa looked had each other that way. If I didn’t see it with my eyes, I definitely would not have believed. But I saw it. I saw the attraction between both the

Chapter Seventy Six

Uther PoVI should have heard from Spock by now. It was unusual that my servant would stand me up. Spock had very few flaws whenever he served me, and tardiness was definitely not part of it. “Where is this man?” I asked as I continued to pace the gardens at the back of the mansion. Usually, I wouldn’t care very much where and how Spock chooses to spend his time. I trusted him enough to believe that whatever he’s doing it for the good of the kingdom. And this situation was not different. I believed that whatever made Spock come late must have been necessary and relevant for the good of the kingdom, but what I was really anxious for was the news he carried. I trusted Spock, but Marco was a totally different story himself. Even with the Spock’s subtle supervision, I didn’t trust Marco to follow my orders. The bull-headed boy might do the exact opposite of what he ordered and throw the entire kingdom in another array of jeopardy. Marco was never one to look beyond his personal pride

Chapter Seventy Seven

Marco PoV“I see you’ve come back from reporting to father,” I sneered when Spock entered my tent.We camped a few miles away from the borders of Yellowstone, or Lupo pack as my deranged half-brother.“Did you tell father what his bastard son said?” I chuckled, savoring the taste of the grape wine I was slowly drinking from my cup, “did you tell him that the son he loves so much would rather die than bow to him?”“Your highness,” Spock bowed his gently, ignoring my jibe, “I apologize for my absence, I didn’t know I would be missed. I would have reported my whereabouts.”“Don’t play coy with me, Spock,” I slammed the wine cup on the stool next to me, “I am not my father.”“Indeed, you’re not,” he replied in that same low, placatory voice. I stared at Spock hunched in front of me. I could not determine if he was mocking or complimenting me. The old man has spent a very long time in court he knows how to conceal his emotions. Even his heart beat in the same regular beat. Never changing.

Chapter Seventy Eight

Melina PoVI still couldn’t wrap my head around what I’d just seen. When I thought I finally understood it, merely becomes stranger. “Was that science or magic?” I asked myself for the umpteenth time as I took a swig of the drink the barman served me earlier.I winced gently as the drink burned down my throat on its way to my stomach. It was my third, and it was really helping me fight the cold. The cold was bearable in the day, but when the sun went down, it began to freeze. And the drink was probably the only thing that was keeping me from freezing. That, and the thick jacket on my back. “Okay, Mel,” I murmured to myself, “backtrack.”It was a trick Ramona taught me whenever I was stuck or confused. She would tell me to think back to the beginning, and retrace my step. Retracing my every move from the beginning would help me look back into my memory to see what I missed.Witches memory are clearer and sharper than the average human thanks to some potions witches and wizards give

Chapter Seventy Nine

Melinda's povI slowly stood up from where I sat turning around when I felt an arm on my shoulders. I turned to see it was the alcoholic smirking at me holding a bottle of beer with a smirk on his face."Don't leave so soon darling, you still haven't told me who you are." From the corner of my eyes, I could see others gaze more intently at me as though they were sure I wasn't one of them, right now I didn't intend to cause any trouble as I needed to find her as soon as possible, and take her to Ramona as soon as possible."A gentleman shouldn't grab a lady's arm this way." I pout at him but deep within me I wanted to smack him so hard but that was a bad decision."Why don't you tell us who you are, I can tell you're not from here." He squeezed my shoulders while eyeing my body hungrily."Why would you want to know? I only came here for a drink.""Seems more to that you know." His hand began to travel downward until it was on my boobs, I immediately smacked his arms from me, taking a s

CHAPTER EIGHTY

Marco glanced at his men who supported Maximo on their shoulders as they made their way to the pack territory slowly. Maximo was in bad shape and wasn't at all getting better and was weak, never for once had he thought he would be tricked this way. Every step they took felt like a thousand arrows had been shut to his rips creating an excruciating pain, he gnashed his teeth wincing in pain as his insides felt like they were about to fall out and he had no idea why he was able to heal himself."We're almost there," Marco assured him with a smirk on his face as they approached the borders of their territory where several warriors stood guard, Two of them approached both Marco and his men carrying Maximo who seemed to be losing consciousness."Take him to the dungeon and lock him up immediately," Marco ordered them while walking inside nodding to the guards as he made his way inside the pack, The first place he went to was the Alpha's home to report what had happened. He was unsure what h
