Mykel’s POVAs pack members filled into the chapel my eyes scanned the room for Hollie. Raven had said she would meet us at breakfast and that she would travel with us. We waited for twenty minutes but when she didn’t show after attempting to mind link her, we decided to head out. Today would be a hard day for us as a whole but I couldn’t begin to imagine the pain Hollie was feeling. I spent the entire journey telling myself that she was ok, that she just needed time and likely wanted to be alone. I just hoped I was right, and she hadn’t done anything stupid.Once everyone had taken their respective seats the priest took to the podium. I sat in the front row with Lilith and Raven either side of me. Each of their hands in one of my own placed in my lap. I needed their comfort right now and wasn’t remotely bothered who knew it. I may be an Alpha but I’m not heartless man.As we bowed our heads for the final prayer the doors to the rear of the chapel were flung open as Hollie stumbled in

***TRIGGER WARNING. CHAPTER CONTAINS SCENE OF SA***Raven’s POV“Shit, Wallace get Hollie and Raven out of here.”“I’ll get them to the bunker Alpha.”“Are you fucking stupid? That will be the first place they look for them. Take them to the western border. Go as far into the woods as you can. Raven will know where to go when she sees it and I will only say this once Wallace. So fucking listen up.” I watched my heart thumping as Mykel gripped the warrior’s collar pulling him so that their noses practically touched. “If anything should happen to her and Wallace, I do mean anything I will rip you to fucking shreds. Understand?” Nodding to Mykel’s words the warrior nodded violently looking as though he was about to shit himself. The moment Mykel released him he gripped my shoulder in an attempt to usher me away.“What about you guys? I can’t sit back while this is happening. It’s my fault their here in the first place! If I would have just listened and done as I was told none of this wou

Lilith’s POV“So, Dante confirms that the witch hasn’t had contact with anyone outside of the Spring Haven pack.” As Mykel spoke those words, he slammed the phone down onto his office table. It should have been good news, but it wasn’t what we had wanted to hear.“So that means someone else is giving them information. Great!” Knowing what that meant left a sour taste in my mouth and an even more unsettled feeling deep within me. It meant that someone within the confides of our pack, someone we protected was operating as a mole. My eyes remained on Mykel’s trembling form as he rubbed his temples. This wasn’t just a blow to me but to my mate. Everything he did, every decision he made as Alpha was to support the healthy continuation of this pack. He wanted everyone here to thrive, we both did. Mykel sat there in silence for a few moments clearly deep in thought before he spoke.“I’m going to increase the guard presence on the pack house. I don’t see any other choice, not now. Not with th

Mykel’s POVWhen I got to the town centre, I found myself surrounded. I hadn’t bothered to wait for my warriors knowing my mate was in trouble. Feeling her pain through the bond had me putting all my logical thinking aside. I needed to get to her. I wouldn’t care if it cost me my life just so long, she was safe. Remaining in wolf form I wasted no time in electrically charging the ground. The way it tickled and pricked at my skin as it slithered down and out, highlighting even the deepest darkest shadows felt exhilarating. It wasn’t enough to kill them, but it temporarily stunned them nevertheless. When it came to using my gifts, I had come to learn my limit. Using too much in one go left me exhausted, I needed to build a tolerance. Something that was easier said than done. My wolfs temper made him unpredictable so even though I had gradually gotten better stamina, I still had a way to go.As the shocked wolves spasmed on the ground I wasted no time in ripping their throats from them.

Lilith’s POV“Calypso may be mated to you, but I don’t see how it can change the whole process of her thinking. Sure, it makes us want nothing more than to be by our mates side. The raw physical attraction and lust we feel clouding out judgement. The untold desire that burns within us to please our mate, but it’s not the same for witches. They aren’t programmed the same. They will all vie for the batting team.”“How about you let me show you for myself. Good evening, Lilith.” Hearing the deep disrespectful tone of a woman’s voice, I craned my head to the side.Standing in the doorway her hands on her hips was Calypso. She looked nothing like how I remembered. Her mass of dreadlocked hair not gone replaced with a sleek straight style. Her bushy brows now held a shape that beautifully framed her face. Her dark chocolate skin smooth and flawless as she sported a tank top and leggings. I wanted to say she was ugly but couldn’t.“Calypso… what did we say about this?” The way in which Dante

Raven’s POVAfter spending what felt like an eternity trying to force my eyes open, I came to the realisation they already were. If it wouldn’t have been for the lack of breeze and stale yet rotten odour, I would have thought I was outside. There was no light, no sounds to remotely give away where I might be. I wanted to stand, to try and find some way out but feared what else may be in here with me. Whatever and wherever here is.“H…hel…hello…” the softest of whispers echoed around me catching my off guard. Traps and animals I had half expected, but not another person. It was as if whoever it came from didn’t have the strength to speak. When I called back and didn’t get a response I wondered if I had hallucinated it. When I was younger, and my father used to lock me in the dungeon I used to hear voices and would have conversations with them. I was down there alone I knew that. I figured my brain created the illusion of someone else being present to keep me sane. Not having anyone to

Mykel’s POVIt had been three weeks since Raven went missing and not a day went by that we hadn’t searched for her. The first place we looked was Blood Moon Pack. She was Alaric’s daughter, so it made sense for Xander to take her there. Trouble was she wasn’t there, neither was Xander. Alaric refused to surrender their location under the guise he knew nothing of what happened. Something Lilith and I knew was utter bullshit. Everyday we had someone keep watch, keeping us updated on Alaric’s movements. He had his way of getting to my pack and I had mine of getting to his.Once Hollie’s antibiotics removed the virus from her blood, she eventually regained consciousness allowing us the chance to take her statement. I would rather have waited until she was fully in the clear, but Lilith insisted it had to be done now while the details were still fresh. I felt guilty as hell, but I knew Lilith was right and thankfully Hollie understood that. We would need as much detail as possible before c

Lilith’s POV“You seriously think that would work? I’m sorry but if it were that simple do you not think that one of the many witches we have already spoken to would have found her already?” Keeping my eyes fixed on Calypso, I wanted her to squirm, to cower, anything that showed she doubted what she had said. In truth she made a good point and I hoped more than anything it would work but I had my reservations.“How about you remove that stick from your ass and listen to me! I didn’t have to come here, to be insulted by the likes of you. My people have been used for generations. We have been slaves, weapons, anything that made us less than those in what you call society. The things we have been forced to do your mind couldn’t even begin to fathom. Dante tells me things are changing, that my kind are finally being welcomed into wolf packs all over the world. That us being fated together proves just that. I told him I could help you in order to prove I’m not the monster that history made

Mykel’s POVAfter hearing what Lil had seen the sound of thunder erupted outside. The anger I felt in this precise moment was far worse than any other anger I’d ever felt. Raven wasn’t just my mate; she was the mother of my pup yet one of them bastards still harmed her.The warm sparks of Lilith’s touch as she entwined her fingers with mine kept from falling over the edge. Waving her wrist, a bright blue light appeared before us slowly dulling down as the portal formed. Before her vision she wanted anything but to go to the Delamere Forest Pack, but now something inside her had clicked and she knew it had to be done.“Together.”“Together.” Lilith gave a small smile as I gave her my word. I may have let her down in the past, but things were different now.I was no longer the angry boy living in the body of a man instead I am that man. And a pissed one at that.As we came out of the portal, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath still unused to the nausea portal hopping bought on.“My

Lilith’s POVAll night I tossed and turned unable sleep. I felt sick to my stomach with guilt at rejecting Mykel after we did the most normal thing a mated couple could do. I could feel his regret like a ton of bricks, but I didn’t have it in me to face him. He hadn’t done anything wrong, and I didn’t blame him one single bit. I blamed myself.I was the moon goddess and still hadn’t found our missing mate or pups. I felt like an outright failure. How on earth was I supposed to go into the challenge like this?As I laid there listening to the slow steady beat of Mykel’s heart it became clear what I needed to do. In order to do what needed to be done I would have to detach myself completely. It was the only way.As the sunlight flittered in through the gaps of the blind, I swung my legs out of the bed. Climbing out and changing into my sports bras and leggings before grabbing the notebook and pen I took another look at my mate and smiled. As I sneaked into the bathroom, I quietly closed
