Alys smiled at her mom from her little nest of blanket. It smelled liked Aiden and it made her feel safe and calm. It had been a really busy morning and she was glad everyone seemed to be genuinely happy she was there. She already really liked Sara, she had such a warm and loving personality. Alys couldn’t believe how lucky she felt to be surrounded by so many amazing people already.“Is your room ok mom?” Alys hoped her mom was fitting in well too.“Oh its fabulous, I feel like I am on vacation at a fancy resort. The room has a big comfy bed, a little sitting area beside it, and a nice desk, a walk in closet, and an ensuite bathroom with a nice soaker tub. Aiden’s parents asked me to join them for dinner this evening in the pack dinning room as well. They are very nice. Thomas told me last night that they have small cottages here that I can choose to live in as well. I think I may ask for one of those. As they walked together downstairs Aiden pointed out the different floors and what were on them, as a basic tour to start. Then they went down the hall off the stairs on the main floor, towards a lot of talking. They walked into a large room which looked like it could be a ball room but was currently set up much like a large dinning room with tables spread out around the room and along the back wall was a counter that was being replenished with food. “This is the dinning hall. Most of the unmated pack members eat their meals here. We have a full time staff just for cooking the meals. I’ll have to introduce you to the head chef later. I think the two of you will hit it off great.” Aiden explained as they walked in. Slowly as more people saw Aiden the room got quieter and quieter they were all watching Aiden guiding Alys through the dinning room. They walked to the head of the room where a larger table was set a little off from the rest. It looked like the head table at a wedding. Then

Instead of getting in his Jeep he continued to walk down the street with her, hand in hand. The weather was perfect for this early spring evening, a gentle breeze wound its way through the city streets as the street lights were slowly turning on as the sun set in the distance. They walked for a couple blocks, lightly chatting together before entering another old looking building. It was a beautiful book store. It had a small coffee shop in the front corner and three floors of books on old wooden bookshelves that reached floor to ceiling, there were even little nooks and crannies that had comfortable chairs and side tables so people could sit and go through the books. It had used and new books, used books being on the top floor. “I know how much you like books and coffee so I thought you would like to come here. It used to be the old city library, but they converted it to a store. It’s a unique building with some great coffee.” Aiden told her, as they waited in line for their coffee.

Shortly after she was changed and ready again. Thankfully Alys had bought a couple of blouses, figuring she would need them. She ran back downstairs and saw Lilly sitting on a bench just outside of the dining hall. “There we are, Sara told me you had a little run in with Brandi. Don’t worry about her. She’s a lovely girl but probably a bit sad that Aiden is taken now. She always did have a little crush on him.” Lilly smiled and stood up gesturing for Alys to follow her. Alys wanted to say she believed it was more then a crush and ask her if what Brandi had said was true, but she decided to let it be. For now. Lilly started off with a tour of the grounds. They walked outside and she explained how the housing worked and the different ranks in the pack. They went to the Omega housing first, which was a small hotel like building just off the main house. Aiden got stuck at work a little later then usual, he had been getting ready to leave the office when he received a strange phone call. They were asking about buying Alys’s Cafe and kept him on the phone for a good half hour past when he had wanted to leave. In the end they changed their mind. The call was not sitting well with him.
