♧Chapter two; PEACE♧

She was standing by the window, gazing at the dark sky and the stars that punctuated it. Her mom is up there, represented by a star, watching over her, she strongly believed that. The night is cool and the breeze is soft. The atmosphere is quiet. The moon was in full bloom, she could stand there all night just looking at it. Feeling content and at peace. Surrounded by the dark. Peace is an inside thing, you can't get it from outside. Her mom's words drifted into her soul and a lazy smile crawls unto her oval face. Alcohol, food, affection, sport, they were all outside things and can't bring you peace. Your fellow wolf can't bring you peace. Only you can bring you peace. Peace can only be achieved when you've won the battle within and as she stood there she felt certain that she had won the battle. She felt even more certain that her mother was resting in peace. Then, a feminine snore drifted across the room from the bed and excited her pinna. Looking over her shoulder at her sister,

♧Chapter three; WHAT NEXT?♧

The hunt wasn't something that was organised often and today's hunt was courtesy Beta George Shaw organised solely for the alpha's sake that he may find his luna. George has been like a father to Jason and will always be. Infact, he had been like a brother to Bennett. He was a gentle man stuffed with compassion. Jason was seated on the balcony, on a reclining oak chair, sorting through a pile of letters while sipping coffee, it helps soothe the hangover. Scanning each and every letter in his custody, he internally groaned. All these many letters just for this morning. Fifty percent of the letters were from his fellow alphas' from other packs wishing him a happy and safe hunting experience, hope you find your Luna, they all quoted. Felicitations upon felicitations, yet he had to read and reply every one of them. Then;*Where the fuck are you, oh ye mighty alpha?!* Someone communicates to him through the mind-link. Jason froze. Now while Beta George was like a father to him, his son Ric

♧Chapter four; HOW PERFECT♧

Most she-wolves always look forward to the hunt, while the ambitious ones whimsically dreamt of becoming Luna. Either way, the girls loved the festivity, the thrill, the feeling of hiding while your heart beat loudly in your ears, keeping still, until your nose catches a scent and you hear the sound of paws approaching. So no wonder how it's just twelve fifteen yet the pack house is surrounded by she wolves. The moment Ian and the girls arrived at their destination, Antara couldn't contain herself. She was in awe of her surroundings. The pack house is just as it was when she last visited it for the annual Selene feast; elegantly reposed at the fore of the forest, eclectic, colossal and intimidating. On the other hand, her sister's assessment of her surroundings was rather flippant. Yes, she admired the mighty structure in front of her, yes, she was a fan of the beautiful field spread out on the right side of the structure -where the guards trained, of course she loved the mountains i

♧Chapter five; CRUEL JOKE♧

The clock struck five and George, along with the council of elders, gathered to commence the hunt. The sounds of congas filled the air, melding with the sound of tambourines. Two harps could be heard vibrating melodious symphony. The sky was clear and cloudless, the sun radiated its glory. The awaited time has arrived. A majority of the Male wolves had already shifted and were wandering around, awaiting the elders to commence the hunt. While the elders were awaiting the arrival of the Alpha. Jason was on his way. He strode with confidence towards the field, William by his side. The moment he got to where the elders where, he nodded his greeting and they reciprocated. He took off his blazer and handed it to William just as Clover, head of the council, stepped forward to give his opening remark."With immense enthusiasm, I welcome every wolf present..." Clover's brisk voice shoot forth and the air propagated it, that even the she wolves hiding deep inside the forest could hear him clea

Almira trudged over to where her brother was stood by the main door to the pack house, bobbing his head to the instruments and watching the servants set up bonfires. She glanced at his side view before moving her gaze to the direction of the commotion out. The hunt was over, it was time for bonfire dinner, as it was organised after every hunt. She inhaled; "You were not part of the hunt." She spoke plainly to her brother. Richards turned to face her, "Why did your statement sound like a question?" He was smiling dryly. "I want to know why you were not part of the hunt.""No reason, you were not part of the hunt either.""None of the males present is my mate. I can tell because I served them all. But you, you can't keep hiding.""Hiding?" Richards snorted at her choice of words."You're hiding, you avoid mingling with people because it makes you unnecessarily anxious, nervous, I get it. But you can't keep avoiding the public. You are the next Beta, you will be expected to spend a goo

♧CHAPTER SEVEN: TRYING TO BE HAPPY ♧

The bonfire dinner went well past midnight. The coupled wolves only began to disperse by three in the morning. Jason excused himself from the company of his mother and headed for the pack house. He stepped into the shower with Regina and June's earlier conversation replaying in his mind. His mother seemed to have alot of questions for June;"What's your father's name?""Ian Gilbert." June did justice to all her questions without any exhibition of nervousness or irritation. "Gilbert? Are you related to the late Monty Gilbert?" June had smiled, "Yes, he was my granduncle."Regina nodded, she knew a generous percent of the families in the pack by last name. And the Gilberts, she perceived they were indeed a noble family at least from what she'd heard about Monty. "And your mother?""Deceased.""Oh, sorry about that."A sigh escaped Jason's lips as the cool water cascaded from his thick mass of wispy black hair down his body. He ran through his face before picking up the bottle of body

June's knuckles rapped on the door softly, the door to Regina's chambers."That you Jason?" Regina's soft voice rang out."No, it's June."A grin creeped upon Regina's face, "oh come on in, June."June stepped in, hands behind her back. She returned Regina's smile. She watched the woman tuck a black journal beneath one of the pillows before getting up from her comfortable position on the enticing bed. Regina moved with grace towards the walk in closet, "Almira must've told you...""Yes, she did," June watched as she disappeared into the closet and appeared with a long, flowing white lace gown. "This, my darling, is the dress I'd love for you to wear to the coronation this evening."June was awestruck, and at a loss for words. "It's, oh God," she chuckled, "it's beautiful." Breathtaking infact."It will look even more beautiful on you." Regina placed the dress in June's arms. The lace formed the ball of the gown, the numerous stones attached to it reflected rainbow coloured lights. Th

"Good morning Luna," Almira rendered a cheery greeting the moment June stepped into the kitchen the next morning, looking groggy and sleepy eyed."Morning Almira, what you doing?" June asked, observing as servants moved around the kitchen.Almira pulled out a plastic bowl from the fridge before responding to June's question. "Preparing breakfast." She ambled to the microwave. June took further steps into the kitchen, "Permission to join you,"Almira giggled, "Permission granted."June moved to stand beside her, "So, how does this work? How do you know what each person wants for breakfast and prepare it?"Almira pointed behind her at the fridge, "Regina put up a timetable, and today we're having pancakes, potato salad, boiled eggs, cream soup and yoghurt, we make the yoghurt."June smiled, "Let me fry the pancakes?" "Sanu," Almira called to a servant who was mixing batter in a large bowl. "Give the bowl to Luna, she wants to do it." The bald, middle aged man nodded and handed June the

"But Alpha, how can you be so sure?" George inquired of his alpha after he made such shocking declaration. "I just know." Jason stood by his claim. Gorah is responsible for his father's murder and he won't go free."But what proof do we have Alpha? We can't just behead him without solid evidence." William quipped.Jason kept mute. His paws hitting the soil viciously. ♧♧♧June and Almira were in the process of walking back into the pack house after running endless laps on the field, when they caught two guards climbing up the stairs to the front door with an elderly ginger haired woman in tow.Almira's face immediately lit up with a bright smile. "Theodosia." She mumbled "Huh?" June perked up an eyebrow, her eyes scanning the pretty old lady."That's Theodosia, Regina's close friend. She's a wolf but she has psychic powers, she's kinda of like a medium.""Supernatural wolves exist?" June asked."They're rare but they're there. They exist." She quickened her pace. June marveled at th
