My voice cracks as I whisper, “I’m so happy to hear your voice again.” I have more things I want to say, but the words are lodged in my throat. A turmoil of emotions slams into me. Trinity POVMy eyes flicker open, and I stare up at the white ceiling for a few moments. My conversation with my father flashes through my head. When is he going to call me again? I wouldn’t complain if he wants to call me all the time. I have nothing else to do. Unless Becca or Lance come, I don’t have anyone else to talk to. The staff is nice, but I really can’t talk to them much. Becca might be my physical therapist, but she has such a pleasant personality and is very friendly. When I’m around her, I feel like we’ve known each other for years, instead of days. I kick the sheets up to break the tight hold they have on me. My breath suddenly hitches, and my focus shifts to my feet. Did I just move them without having any problems? My body doesn’t ache, and I feel like I could go run through the forest without a problem. I shake my head and sit up in bed. I wish I knew what the taste was from. Trinity POVIt is like a dream. However, I could have sworn I said something in my sleep, but it must be a dream. There is no way I would talk in my sleep. Right? I’ve never done it before. Reluctantly, I open my eyes and stare up at the white ceiling. My head fills with countless thoughts about what I thought had happened last night. None of them makes any sense, though. But then again, it seems so real that I couldn’t have been dreaming it. The same sweet taste lingers in my mouth like the previous days, but this time there is also an alluring smell hanging in the air and floating around me. Warmth slides across my lips. I lightly touch my lips, hoping to find the answers. Instead, my stomach flutters while the warmth spreads across my face. What the heck is happening to me? I grasp at any hint as to why, but nothing provides me the answers I’m wanting. Frustrated, I kick the sheets off me and head into the bathroom for my morning routine. Maybe a nice warm showe
