Oh... Things are getting interesting....
Trinity POVI slowly lick my lips. Hmmm…A sweet, alluring taste lingers, but I don’t know why. I didn’t eat any sweets last night, but this isn’t the first time this has happened. It has been happening every morning for the last several days. Each morning I wake feeling alive and better than the previous day. My body doesn’t ache, and I feel like I could go run through the forest without a problem. I shake my head and sit up in bed. I wish I knew what the taste was from. If I did, I would make sure I had more of it every day. Something nudges me at the back of my mind, but it is followed by silence, which I’ve grown to hate with every fiber in my body. I ignore it and march to the bathroom. Along the way, I glance at the nightstand and my phone. Disappointment bubbles up when there is no flashing light to signal me for a new message. When is Lance going to come and visit me again? He had come every day, but then he just stopped and without telling me why. Does he hate
Lance POVAs if something is pulling me here, I slide into Trinity’s hospital room, making sure to not make a sound. It has become my nightly ritual, and one I can’t seem to break no matter how hard I try. I had kept myself buried in work all day today, but as the sky turned dark and the night settled in, I found myself making the same the trek as I have the previous nights. Once I’m inside the room, my wolf jumps forward and softly howls and whines while he wags his tail faster than he ever has before. Something is different. A faint scent tickles my nose, but I can’t place what it is. Every fiber in my body wants more of it. I take a deep breath and almost hum in delight. I need to know where this is coming from. This alluring scent, even though it is faint, can’t tease me and then vanish. I must find the source. Heat rushes through me. My gaze drifts to the sleeping beauty in the bed. I need to do what I came here to do first before I go around hunting for the source
Trinity POVIt is like a dream. However, I could have sworn I said something in my sleep, but it must be a dream. There is no way I would talk in my sleep. Right? I’ve never done it before. Reluctantly, I open my eyes and stare up at the white ceiling. My head fills with countless thoughts about what I thought had happened last night. None of them makes any sense, though. But then again, it seems so real that I couldn’t have been dreaming it. The same sweet taste lingers in my mouth like the previous days, but this time there is also an alluring smell hanging in the air and floating around me. Warmth slides across my lips. I lightly touch my lips, hoping to find the answers. Instead, my stomach flutters while the warmth spreads across my face. What the heck is happening to me? I grasp at any hint as to why, but nothing provides me the answers I’m wanting. Frustrated, I kick the sheets off me and head into the bathroom for my morning routine. Maybe a nice warm showe
Lance POVHer frightened voice snaps my last resolve, and I bolt forward, capturing her plump lips in a passionate kiss. Delicious jolts of electricity shoot through me everywhere our skin touches as my wolf howls in delight and then catapults forward, trying to take control. I push him back as I savor her moist lips. The faint scent which has taunted me the last several nights overpowers me and is finally distinct enough for me to make out the individual scents. She smells like lavender and lilac mixed together. I’ve never smelled them together before nor would I have ever thought they would go well together, but on her, they smell amazing. My large hands snake around her waist and pull her up closer to me. A fire ignites within me, and her mouth isn’t enough. I want more of her. Still devouring her luscious lips, I thrust my tongue into her open mouth. Her scent grows stronger and wraps around me. She arches her back, and I want every part of her rubbing against me, but o
Trinity POV Pain shoots through my neck as Lance sinks his fangs into my delicate skin, but it is instantly replaced with pleasure. “Lance…” Energy vibrates through me, but I’m lost in the haze of the moment. One thing is clear, I need to mark him too. As soon as he retracts his teeth from me, I spot the perfect spot on his neck and plunge my fangs into him. His blood fills my mouth, and I recognize it as the sweet taste I’ve had every morning over the last several days. If I had felt great up to now, it is nothing like what I feel now as his sweet blood slides down my throat and almost instantly absorbs into my body. What few aches and pains I’ve had instantly disappears and I’ve left on cloud nine, wishing this will never end. The room smells of sex, and our bodies are glistening with sweat, but I’ve gotten my second wind. There is no other place I would want to be. My lips latch onto his neck and suck more blood from him. I don’t know what has come over me and my w
Alpha Edward POVRelief washes over me. My daughter is safe. But something feels off, though. I can’t put my finger on it, but I will figure it out soon. While I’m deep in my thoughts, my son Trent storms into my office without knocking. “Dad! What are thinking? Why do I have to be questioned, too? I’m the next alpha, and I can’t be seen being questioned like the rest of the pack. I’m above this. Like you, I shouldn’t be questioned.”Steam rolls off him as he stops in front of my desk. With determination in his eyes, he leans forward and plants his hands on the edge of my desk. “One word from you and they will stop this nonsense.” He glares at me, but nothing will put a damper on my joyous mood. Trinity is fine, safe, and healthy. I tuck my phone back into my pocket and meet his glare with a stern one of my own. “I was even questioned. No one is above being questioned, including you. Now, go and help the council by answering truthfully whatever they ask you. There is
Trinity POVThe pain in Lance’s voice stabs me right through the heart. He is hurting and so am I. My wolf catapults forward. “Let him in. I’ve told you Lycans aren’t to be feared, no matter what you’ve been told or believe. They aren’t your enemy. Many other things are, but they aren’t. If there is a term for them which you would understand, it would be a peacekeeper. They are like the big brother protectively watching over their younger siblings, and if anyone causes trouble, they are right there to handle it and keep the peace. They aren’t out to harm you. Lance is your mate. He only loves you. You have to believe in your heart and in me. You know I’m telling you the truth.”My heart wants nothing more than to open this door and jump into his comforting embrace, but my mind keeps going back to what I’ve been told all my life. Granted, it wasn’t my father who told me these things, but others within the pack. The pack wouldn’t have any reason to lie to me. Right? The p
Trinity POVI fidget with my fingers as I sit on the bed and nervously look beside me at Lance and then next to him at the King. Lance had said he would tell me everything, but I’ve had to wait a full day for it. I’ve been a mess, stewing and worrying about what my mate is going to tell me. To pass the time, I’ve also been trying to put the puzzle pieces together to figure it out on my own, but it has been a failed attempt.Lance has promised me the truth isn’t anything bad, but I need to not react too much to it. What does he mean by that? It only pushes my uncertainties and concern higher. I swallow the lump in my throat and hesitantly ask, “What is the truth? I know you are a lycan instead of werewolf and your blood healed me. What else is there for me to know?”Lance glances at the King, who gives him a nod. My mate turns his attention back to me and slides closer to me. He cups my hand in his as he clears his throat. My uneasy feeling grows stronger, while I stare at m
