Chapter 131

Jack POV Within the hospital there was chaos. Doctors were yelling for nurses to come help with patients – specifically Adam and Sam. They were still trying to save Adam from the poison coursing through his veins. And Sam they were trying to stop the bleeding. His wolf, Chance, was doing what he could to help but these wounds had happened in Sam’s human form and that would require more doctor intervention. I am pacing between rooms when I see Josie running around the corner. I stop her grabbing her up in my arms, “He is still alive, Jack. I have not felt the bond break,” Josie says repeatedly. “They are working on him Josie. Just sit here,” I say pointing to a chair in the hall. “No, I want to be with him,” she says shakily as she tries to get around me. “You will just get in the way. Sit your ass down and do what you are told, for once!” I yell at her. I had not intended to be so harsh, but I was feeling the pressure of both the alpha and

Chapter 132

Sam POV I am floating in what feels like a dream. A terrifying dream where the Council manages to get Josie, Jenna and Sarah. I can feel the despair around me from Adam, Jack and myself. I look down and see that I am tied to a chair and cannot move. My mate is being beaten in front of me because she continues to refuse to do as they tell her. “Just do it, Josie!” I yell but she cannot hear me. She continues to fight. Suddenly I feel tingles on my arm, “Sam,” I hear someone calling my name. I look around. Is this a joke? To somehow distract me from trying to help my mate. I can feel it more closely now and the tingles are on my head and lips. “Josie?” I whisper through dry lips. “It is me, baby,” Josie replies. I try to open my eyes, but I cannot do so. I try to lift my hand but I cannot move. Am I tied down? What happened? Why can I not remember? I slip back into a deep sleep as I try to remember what brought me here. The dream pic

Chapter 133

Josie POV I was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief when Sam woke up. It has been two days since he woke, and I still cannot believe all that has happened in the past couple of days. Adam is still in a coma, but it is believed he will come out of it soon. It is likely that his body was exhausted and needed the additional rest after fighting his way back. He has had no more heart episodes, although they are worried about long term impacts. For now, everyone is just waiting for their Alpha to wake up. I smile as I feel Sam’s arms wrap around my waist, “Good morning little pup,” he murmurs as his hands hold my still flat tummy. “I am not sure he can hear you yet,” I chuckle. “We do not know that, and I want to be sure he knows my voice when he comes into this world,” Sam says indignantly. I put my hands over his, and simply bask in the glory of being held by my mate. “What are your plans this morning?” Sam asks as he releases me to turn me

Chapter 134

Jenna POV I gasp as Adam’s eyes open wide. He simply stares at the ceiling as if not believing he is awake. I stand and move closer to Adam touching his face. He slowly turns to me, and I see tears in his eyes. “Am I really awake?” he asks tentatively. As if he has had this dream multiple times already. I can feel tears rolling down my cheeks. Nodding, I move forward and kiss Adam’s lips. He lifts his hand pushing the hair out of my face. “Red, I thought I would never see you again,” he whispers. I move to get him a glass of water, allowing him to take a couple sips before removing the glass. “I was terrified,” I reply to him as I move closer to wrap my arms awkwardly around his body. He tries to pull me up beside him. “Just wait babe, I need to get the doctor to unhook you,” I say to him. “Do not call anyone in yet. I just want to spend my time with you, Jenna,” Adam says as he simply stares at me. “How do you feel?” I ask.

Chapter 135

Josie POV “I always prefer the hard way,” the cocky bastard replies. “Good enough,” I reply. “What was your mission?” I ask. The man struggles but smiles as he defies my request. He does not realize I had not put a push behind my question. “I said what was your mission when you came here a week ago?” I demand. I see sweat forming on the man’s forehead as he struggles to defy my demand. “We were here for you,” he spits out. “Why?” I ask although I have heard the answer before. “You hold the power; you are the key,” he replies angrily. His face is already red with frustration. “Why take Jenna then?” I ask. He smirks at me, “Because we know you. You would come running and then we would have the healer and the Rogue Queen,” he says with a laugh. “You are so obvious. You are not a team player; you always go off or try to go off on your own. It would only be a matter of time before you would try to trade yourself or simply come to get her and

Chapter 136

Sam POV We have been strategizing for hours and we continue to come to the same conclusion. All roads leading to the same result. Daniel. Using Daniel to gain access to the leader. But how we would access Daniel is really proving to be our bigger challenge. Looking at everyone around the table, “We need to bring Lucas in on this,” I suggest as I watch Josie yawn for the third time in a row. Adam looked beat; Jenna was getting frustrated as the conversations continued around her. “Yes, we do. And we cannot simply talk about the plan on the phone. Call him and set up a meeting for a week from today,” Jenna says snippily. Adam looks tiredly at Jenna, “Red, you know we cannot wait that long,” he says as he looks at me. “See if Lucas can be here tomorrow,” Adam says as he slowly stands. I watch Adam and Jenna shuffle off to the door. “We will have some food brought up to you,” Josie says as they walk out the door. “Thank you,” Jenna replies as

Chapter 137

Josie POV “Who is the leader of this group?” I ask first. “I do not know,” Luna Ashley replies. “How can you not know?” I ask. “They keep erasing my memories,” Luna Ashley replies sounding tormented. “Why?” I ask. “They do not want me to remember who the leader is,” Ashley replies sounding frustrated. “Who erases your memories?” I ask curiously. “The witch; she has the power,” she replies. “Then why do they want me?” I ask confused. “You are the most powerful wolf, Josie. If they get you, they will be able to control all wolves,” she says almost whispering like she does not want anyone to know. Sam is standing beside me, but it is like she does not see him. She is tunnel-visioned on me. “You are so beautiful Josie. I wish things had been different for us,” she says as she bends over in pain once again. “Why?” I ask. “Because I always wanted to be your mom. You and Eric were my first pups,” she says with tears in her eyes. “

Chapter 138

Josie POV “How do you feel?” I ask Sarah while dropping off some paperwork the next morning. Alpha Lucas was coming for early afternoon, so we had time to get a few things done. Sighing, Sarah replies, “I feel fine. Like better than fine. I feel like I should be up and moving but Jenna says I need a couple more weeks.”. Giving Sarah a look of pity, “I feel for you. I am not sure I would handle it as well as you have been,” I reply. “Truth is I am not handling it well at all. I have been ripping Jack’s head off every chance I get. I would not be surprised if he asks the Moon Goddess for a new mate,” Sarah says as tears fill her eyes. I move over and wrap my arms around her shoulders, “Do not be silly. Jack understands that you are simply ready to be off bedrest. He loves you, silly woman,” I say to her. She smiles at me wiping away her tears. “I know but I feel terrible for how I have been treating him,” she replies. “Tell him.

Chapter 139

Josie POV “Oh my Goddess,” Jenna whispers. I nod, “Yes, the chip in my brain. I know we are not the only ones who know about it,” I reply as I look to Sam. Sam looks like his heart is in his mouth. “Too fucking bad. Nobody is digging around in your brain trying to retrieve information from it. I do not care who it fucking incriminates,” Sam swears. “No but it would be a lot easier if I were dead now, wouldn’t it?” I ask him. Shaking his head, Sam pulls me into his lap, and I let him. It saddens me to think this could be the missing key to what everyone is looking for. Everyone around the room is looking at us with sadness reflected in their eyes. “What if there was a way to access the data without you dying?” Miranda asks. “Well, that would be a hell of a lot better than the alternative,” Jack says tightly. There is a high level of tension in the room. I feel the love of everyone in the room for me and it is overwhelming to know that I

Chapter 140

Sam POV Adam sweeps Jenna up in his arms as Jenna lets out a pained moan. “How long?” Adam says tersely to Jenna. Not even pretending to not know what he is asking, “A few hours now,” she says as she breathes through a wave of pain. “Fuck Jenna!” Adam says as we run out of the dungeons. “Do not yell at me Adam! I am going to be giving birth in hopefully a few hours. The last thing I need is being pissed off at you,” Jenna says angrily as she is jostled toward the Pack hospital in Adam’s arms. “And I can walk! It would be good to help push the birth along,” she says as Adam stops in mid stride. “Are you sure?” he asks as Jenna wiggles from his arms. “Of course, I am sure, I am a doctor for Goddess’s sake,” Jenna mutters as she starts to slowly walk towards the Pack hospital. She walks for a couple minutes before she is bent over in pain again. The wave subsides and she starts to move again. She does this a few more times before Adam mutters
