Chapter Eighty

Cole, Xavier and Ash scouted the grounds before each decided to take a breather.  "We still have about… three hours… before the meeting," Xavier reminded.  "I need a bath. See you guys around…" Cole said.  "Let me check on doc., see you," Xavier said and headed back to the shed.  "I'll just … hang around… Boss," Ash said. Cole sighed, halt his strides and beckoned to him to follow him inside. Ash promptly obeyed.  Once inside. Cole saw Tiana sitting on a corner couch with a mug in hand and a book opened on her lap.  She raised her face when the two men entered.  "Hey!" Cole called in greetings. Tiana grinned and with the sudden twinkle in h

Chapter Eighty-one

Cole shuddered from the aftermath of his lovemaking with Isabelle, held her to his side, and within seconds he was asleep. Isabelle tried to withdraw from his arms to give him the much-needed space to sleep comfortably but the arm he wrapped around her only tightened. She smiled to herself, snuggled firmly against him, and with her head lying on his chest, she fell asleep too. When an alarm sounded from Jason's phone much later, Cole’s eyelids flicked open and he stared up at the barnlike ceiling design. He thought the crackling of dry wood burning in the hearth mingling with the sound of Isabelle’s soft breathing was the best natural sound to wake up to. He lifted his head a little from the pillow to peer down at her, his eyes adoring her features for about a second before he reached for the phone making the officious sound to put it off. Although the sleep was short, he felt well rested. As a serviceman who was used to going undercover, short naps were a gift you learn to cherish.

Chapter Eighty-two

Xavier sat down like a bird perching on the edge of the leather seat. His jaw clenched tightly in somewhat anger. Cole watched him take calming breath as he shut his eyes. When he opened them he appeared calm. His eyes settled on his drink placed on the table in front of him but it didn’t seem like he could see it. He carried a faraway look like someone in deep thought. Cole picked up the cup with his free hand, and nudged him on the forearm, making Xavier look up and focused, his dark gaze was turbulent. Cole wondered what a man like Xavier had seen in his lifetime and what he had to do to continually heed the call of his people. "Here," Cole said, offering him a drink. Xavier lowered his gaze to the golden liquid, took the glass cup and downed the drink. Cole poured more for him. Xavier sighed. "What does it say?" Wulfrun asked. "The usual— albeit coded. He wants me to come to get them out," Xavier said. "When?" Jason asked. Xavier look at the phone and reached for it. H

Chapter Eighty-three

Cole watched as Jason lowered his eyes in submission and stepped back and he went to stand beside him. “Xavier… please, emotions are high right now, he is just saying nonsense to get you to pay attention. Please, let’s erase all that he has said and refocus our attention on the most important thing,” Cole said and Xavier slowly directed his cold gaze at him. Cole met his gaze unflinching. “He is my friend. I will take full responsibility for him. I promise you, there would be no insubordination. Trust me,” Cole added. Cole waited unknowingly holding his breath and waiting for the verdict. “Everybody out,” Xavier said without breaking eye contact with Cole. The tension in the room was palpable. Xavier didn’t say more until the door went shut behind Hallec.“Why did you ask Hallec to watch him?” Cole didn’t pretend as if he didn’t know to whom he referred. “He is impatient and he knows Rufus wants Isabelle. I’m sorry. What can I say, I don’t trust easy,” Cole replied. “And you want

Chapter Eighty-four

A few minutes before, Isabelle peered out of the glass wall in Cole’s room looking down at the ridges of tents and mediaeval kind of dining table set up close to the fire pit. It was around 6 pm now and the natural daylight had turned into a dull blanket of grey covering the grounds. It had stopped snowing and the weather was cold, but it didn’t matter, their kind thrived best in weather like this. She imagined the pups would sleep like the dead when they eventually retire for the day. Their laughter and endless running around could be heard from miles. Their eyes lit up in happiness and their cheeks adorably rosy – a sigh of good health and vitality as they all sat down around the table with a bountiful display of steaks, fresh fruit, nuts, and confectioneries. Her eyes caught a figure of a man in a somewhat similar getup as the security guards, munching an apple just by a side tree. The man was muscular like the rest of the men and tall too. He had dark brown hair and his jaw was

Chapter Eighty-five

“How are you even here?!” Isabelle said in a panicky tone.“We … are … um … done with the meeting?” Cole said, humouring her with a reply, knowing she was still in shock of being overheard talking about Jason’s cock. She swallowed and then slowly lowered her gaze to meet her friend’s widened ones. They both nodded to themselves as if they had come to a decision and then turned in the direction of the men.“We are very very sorry, Jason,” They both said, Cole, tried not to laugh. They both looked like inexperienced maidens caught experimenting. “It’s okay, there’s nothing to be sorry about. I am flattered that you think I’m handsome and would want to see my pants down, Opaline,” Jason said with a teasing smile. Cole laughed, throwing his head back. “Stop!” Isabelle pleaded with clenched teeth.“We should run,” Opaline suggested. The two slowly backed up from the men, turned and ran still holding hands, startling Tiana and Ash as they ran passed them and into the woods. Cole doubled

Chapter Eighty-six

Cole, Xavier, Jason, Darrow, Wulfrun and Hallec, stood around his study as Xavier dialled the number on the contact list. It rang once and was immediately answered. “I have been right about you twice now—” a deep, raspy voice said from the other side of the line. “It's nice to know you made it back,” Xavier said. “We barely did, thanks to your men, nobody died today,” Angel said. “You sound tired,” Xavier said. “You would be in my shoes, especially after surviving what we did today and getting back here only to be faced with another kind of death. Trust me, I am able to speak to you now because I had help—” “You have an insider?” “You can call it that—” Angel replied. Cole noted the hesitancy in his voice, deducing the other Were didn’t want to divulge more information. He was certain Xavier noted it too because he directed his attention to Jason, watching him look on eagerly. “How is Faelan?” Xavier asked. Cole thought that was highly considerate of him or perhaps calculate

Chapter Eighty-seven

“I’m going to ask Ash to help get a team of beauticians to come over and take care of you guys. After that, we will go shopping. Meanwhile, I’m going to advise we all get some sleep. It would probably be the only chances we might get for days to come,” Cole said and the men started to leave. When Cole turned to walk to the door, Xavier placed a hand on his shoulder making him pause to look back. “Thank you,” he said. “Don’t thank me yet, let’s pull this off first. And you need to keep in mind that anything might go wrong. We just need to be very prepared for all of it,” Cole replied. “And I thought I am an overthinker...” Xavier said, chuckling. “Well, his way of thinking has saved our asses several times. So, when Cole makes plans, the rest of the team shut up and listen,” Jason said, patting Cole on the back as he strode passed him. “Where are you going?” Cole asked. “To speak to a certain lady who wishes to see my pants down. It might be the only chance I get,” Jason sa

Chapter Eighty-eight

“Is this the trail Jason was talking about? The one he said you made him run through?”“Nope, he doesn’t know about this one. As you can see there isn’t a walkway. But I have taken this trail countless times to know my way through it. The one he was talking about is a mile down the river, this one has a link bridge to the cabin,” Cole replied. Isabelle chuckled. “You really fancy your privacy, huh?”“I don’t like people all the time." “Duly noted.”“Don’t worry, I love having you around,” he said. “Lucky me,” Isabelle cooed. He laughed dropping a kiss on her upturned face again. It was quite a walk, but Isabelle didn’t mind. She enjoyed every second spent with him and loved how securely he held on to her, shielding her from the element. She rubbed her face against his chest, enjoying the feel of him.“Keep that up and I won’t wait till we get to the cabin to fuck you,” he said. She giggled, burrowing even deeper against him. “You say it like it is a bad thing,” she whispered

Chapter eighty-nine

“Cole…” she whispered in fervent need, feeling herself begin to drown in his arms. Shortly after she felt warm water springling over her hair and she need not look to know he had brought her inside the shower stall. But then he didn’t stop suckling on her nipples, ever so gently, making her let out a shaky breath, feeling powerless and vulnerable with the paralysing coursing of pleasure in her very soul. Her pussy ached for attention and she mumbled it in words. Cole was unrelenting. His tongue flicked out and continued to stroke and graze the taut flesh, sucking, tugging, causing her to writhe in his embrace.“Ohh…” Isabelle cried. “Please!” she begged, not quite sure of what she was begging for. She definitely didn’t want him to stop. When he finally let her feet touch the floor, she held on to him, shaking visibly. Cole lowered his lips to her ear and whispered, “Touch me.”Isabelle slowly obeyed, placing her open palms to his pectorals, she slowly dragged her hand down his well-
