Chapter 70

(Chase POV)I stormed into the living room, straight up to my dad, and punched him. He went flying to the floor, and I picked him up and threw him across the room. It wasn’t enough. I advanced on him as he laid in a heap on the floor. He just looked at me, made no move to defend himself as I laid into him, punching him over and over.“I TOLD YOU!” I roared. "Why did you not listen?” I could hear screaming, and could feel people trying to drag me away, but all I was really interested in was the fury that was coursing through my veins.I vaguely felt something sharp in my neck and I started to feel dizzy. Some bastard had drugged me. I tried to see who it was, but the drug took over and the last thing I remembered was knocking my head on one of the shelves before I crashed to the floor and into

Chapter 71

(Kaeleigh’s POV)I snapped my eyes open. I could sense as soon as I woke up that I was in an unfamiliar place. I sat up in the bed I was in and looked round the room. It was a large room with crisp white furniture and decor in various shades of grey and silver. Other than the large bed that I was in, there was a pair of bucket chairs with silver framing and a deep grey velvet upholstery, and a matching sofa to the other side of the bed but that was facing a large TV. There was a white coffee table and the bedside tables were white with silver look edges and a matching console table against the wall with the TV on. The bed faced a large picture window that had sweeping grey velvet curtains that trailed the floor. The Bed was against a half wall and on the other side was a large white desk and a chair that matched the other chairs. There were three doors, o

Chapter 72

(Kaeleigh’s POV)“Our what?” I exclaimed. Asher smirked at me. “The official announcement will be next weekend,” he said, and I stared at him in disbelief. “And then once we are mated and marked you will be announced as Luna,” he said like we were having some actual conversation “of course first you will need to renounce that good-for-nothing pack and swear loyalty to me as your Alpha.” I laughed out loud. “Are you on drugs?” I was genuinely curious about his answer, “because if you think that any of this is going to happen, then there really must be some sort of chemical imbalance going on in your head.” There was a chuckle behind me and I was surprised to see Jonathan, I mean Adam, standing by the door. I didn’t even he

Chapter 73

(Chase’s POV) I woke up surrounded by her scent and, for a second; I smiled. Until I opened my eyes and found myself in Kaeleigh’s bed alone. Her scent was getting fainter every day. But I had spent last night in her bed again, needing her scent to help me settle my mind long enough for sleep. I glanced at the alarm clock on the bedside table and the time told me that I had needed sleep. It was almost 10am and the recon team was due back by now. I jumped out of bed and grabbed a quick shower, before making my way downstairs to the conference room/ I was stopped on my way in by my mum who was trying to insist I had breakfast, but I needed to get up to date. I relinquished enough to take the bacon sandwich she was waving in front of my nose, but took it into the conference room with me.I walked in

Chapter 74

(Kaeleigh’s POV) I needed to get out of here! I didn’t understand the effect Asher had on me, but I knew I didn’t like it. When he was around, I felt like I was falling into some sort of abyss and my thoughts and reactions weren’t my own.  I went to the main door and examined it. Obviously it was locked, but I had to try anyway, and I still felt disappointed as I twisted the handle and nothing happened. I looked for how it locked and, guessing from the little box on the wall, I assumed it was by key card much like at Dark Moon. Do people not use normal keys anymore? I shook my head and moved to the window. Maybe I could get out that way. One look out of the window squashed that idea. We were at least four floors up if not more. I spent the next h

Chapter 75

(Chase’s POV)I fell to my knees panting. This one was so much worse and longer. It felt like I was having a heart attack.“Chase!” my dad appeared in front of me looking concerned. I shook my head as the pain receded. “I need my mate now,” I said, pulling myself up off the floor. “I can’t wait any longer, and I don’t think she can either.” We were in a small hotel room on the border of Crimson Shadow’s outer territory, with men trickling in slowly over the last hour. We had brought over 100 of our best warriors for the rescue and we were pretty much ready and they were in position at the access point. Meagan had confirmed that she was back in the compound and she planned to get Kaeleigh alone. We we

Chapter 76

(Kaeleigh’s POV)“Meagan,” I asked cautiously, “are you being serious?” I didn’t know whether I could trust her or if Asher was playing some sick joke. Meagan grinned at me and went to the clothes side of the room and pulled out a pair of black skinny trousers and a black vest top. She threw them at me and instructed me to get changed. I hesitated for a second before another glare from Meagan sent me running into the bathroom and quickly changing into the clothes. I went back into the main room and Meagan handed me some boots, which I slipped on. She showed me the hidden pockets for the blades and I spent the next ten minutes threading them through the loops.“Those will cause more damage being silver,” she said, watching me. “When we get home, I can show y

Chapter 77

(Kaeleigh’s POV) I woke up in my bed, wrapped in Chase’s arms. It had been after midnight when we had got back to Dark Moon and even though it was late, it was still way too quiet. We had got back before the other warriors and I was refusing to go to bed until they were back safe and I could thank them for risking their lives for me. I was upset to hear that we had lost six of our own warriors in the attack and made it my business to ensure that their families were well looked after. Chase had a proud look on his face when he said that was what a true Luna did.  I was sitting with Meagan, who was anxiously waiting for the return of the other group, when I realised that I had heard one of her brothers mention her mate. She had excitedly told me that she and her mate Theo had known about each other for a couple of months, but her father didn’t approve. The

Chapter 78

(Chase’s POV)“Wait! The prophecy is real?” Kaeleigh’s eyes shot up from the floor, where she had been staring at while I told her everything I knew, well almost everything.“How long have you known?” she asked. “is that why you want me?” “Shit baby, no,” I exclaimed as she jumped up and began pacing the room. “I’ve wanted you since the first moment I laid eyes on you. I only found out about this stuff when I was away.”She stopped pacing and looked down at herself. “Fuck, I should get dressed,” she said.“Kinda wished you wouldn’t,” I muttered to myself, which e

Chapter 79

(Temperance’s (Kaeleigh’s mum) POV)*** Around 25 years and 6 months ago ***“Priestess Audrey, it is such an honour to have you visit,” I smiled at the stern woman in front of me. Her ash blond hair was pulled up in a tight bun and she wore a tailored grey skirt suit. “Yes, well, I felt we should talk about the recent revelations,” she said in clipped tones. I was sure being the High Priestess for the UK was a tough job, but I doubt that was what was causing the stick up her ass to chafe. I couldn’t help but sigh and roll my eyes, which earned me a disapproving glare in return.“Temperance, dear,” she said “You must understand that other than the Beaumont Coven the Sacred Circle Coven is one of the most p
