Chapter 1

Riley   My life is anything but a bed of soft, beautiful, red roses. I was born and raised in a poor family. This couldn't be that bad right but no this is far worse.   Other kids used to say they love their mother a lot but I couldn't because unfortunately, my mother loved money over me. She used to stay away from home for days when I was just 7 and then eventually when I turned 10, she left me and my father for a rich man.   She had no remorse or guilt for leaving me. I was just a child begging for my mother's love which is never written in my fate.   Then comes my father who is a disgrace to be called a dad. Right after when my mother left him. He became abusive towards me. He sure was an alcoholic before but he didn't hit me before.

Chapter 2

The next morning I didn't feel like going to college but staying at home meant constant insults and beating for no reason. I am already mentally drained and if I stay home, dad will make me physically hurt as well.   I hurriedly made breakfast for him. Hoping he would stay sleeping in his room but today was bad luck as dad sauntered down the stairs. From his footsteps, I knew he was angry.   My whole body is tense as I pretend to cook. He abruptly turned me around and a harsh slap landed on my face, making me step back with its force as I cupped my cheek which was throbbing with pain. Numbness coursed through my mind as I waited for him to state my mistake.    "Why isn't my coffee ready yet?" He spat as I flinched back. He always wakes up late, today he is up early and

Chapter 3

"D...dad?" My voice is a shaky mess.    I barely called him and this time it got his attention as he turned to me. His eyes paused at the small amount of blood tracing my hands and my shirt.   The widening of his eyes had my insides curling in fear as I immediately stood up on my shaky legs. "D...dad... I... someone put the b...bloody knife in my bag. I.. I... swear I... don't know where it c...come from." My whole body was trembling in raw fear as dad sauntered towards me. I was expecting him to confront me and ask me questions but he struck me.   Pain shot through my cheek as I tried to stay calm. "I...I didn't do anything." Another strike and this one is harsher than the last one.   "I.." I tried to speak.

Chapter 4

A groan of pain left my lips before I could even open my eyes, my eyelids felt as if a ton of weight was placed on them. My body, well my body was as if a bulldozer had run over me. I couldn't even move my hands.   Wait...   I'm alive?   I sure can breathe. There was an earthy, musky, very soothing scent around me. I tried to open my eyes and it was a great deal of a job in itself. I opened my eyes with the utmost difficulty, my vision was all blurry as I blinked several times to adjust my sight. There was a sharp pounding headache and my head felt like a mountain that was being crushed.   I winced when I tried to move. There was so much pain in my body. I blinked at the ceiling, still drowned in the pain when last

Chapter 5

I tried to sleep. I tried. But I just couldn't fall asleep with all the thoughts running through my mind. Was it Levi who put that knife in my bag? Was it him who killed that guy and tried to blame me because I saw him beating that guy just a day before? It was all his plan to frame me but I never expected my father to do such a thing.   He knew I couldn't kill anyone yet for the small amount of money he was all too ready to sacrifice me. It was soo stupid of me to leave that dagger with my fingerprints behind, I should've brought it with me, in that way they won't have any proof against me.   When I went unconscious I was hundred percent sure that the wolf would eat me. But the Lord sent an angel for me. I thought God hated me but apparently, that wasn't the case. Come to think of it, what was Mr. Damon Black doing there in the firs

Chapter 6

Damon    It was my daily routine to check the area around my place. I didn't have my pack members around here to patrol around the cottage so it was one of my habits to run through the woods in my wolf form.   Today I decided to do a little hunting but all of a sudden my step halted as I came to a screeching stop when an intoxicating scent reached my nostrils.   My wolf Hawk became restless all of a sudden urging me to follow this sweet floral scent. It was so strong and potent. So fucking delicious and alluring. I've never smelled such a bewitching scent before and now as I tracked the scent I couldn't help but think to whom this exquisite scent belonged.   I walked through the bushes and came to a dead stop when I saw a small girl

Chapter 7

Riley As I stared at the news all I felt was pure horror. The anchor was continuously saying Riley Miller killed her classmate. My father, David Miller appeared on the screen. He looked sad and broken, as he admitted in front of the camera how he saw a bloodied dagger in my bag. He was ready to hand me over to the police but I escaped.    He was acting like a good man.   The fork fell from my hand on the plate as it made a clattering sound.   Damon's head snapped in my direction and my heart dropped into the pit of my stomach. His face was emotionless and his eyes appeared darker. He knows that Riley was me, it was written all over his face.

Chapter 8

I was back in my room. The bloodied dagger was on my bed, mocking me of the crime I never committed.    The door creaked open and my dad walked in. He looked murderous. There was a large slash on his chest and he was bleeding profusely but at the same time, he approached me. He was holding another dagger. It was bloody too.   I cried and jumped off the bed as I begged him not to hurt me. But he was furious, mad. His eyes were red in anger as he lunged at me. A cry tore through my lips when he stabbed me in the stomach.   There was so much pain as blood oozed out. I tried to stop the bleeding but it was impossible.    That wasn't it, my father continued to stab me as he yelled. "Murderer. Murderer. Murderer

Chapter 9

The next day I decided to leave the room and check around the place, I hope Damon won’t mind it. He was the one who said that I should roam around, the change of scenery could be helpful for me.   I woke up way too early today. Damon was gone when I woke up and I felt sorry for making him sleep on that tiny couch. It was still weird for me that only one man lived in this whole big cottage.   I was walking through the hall when I heard some music coming from the left corridor so I walked there slowly only to pause when I saw a huge indoor gym. The music was blasting but it wasn’t the gym that caught my eyes.   It was Damon ‘hot’ Black.   He was shirtless, only in his sweats as he was doing what I presume were pull-up

Chapter 10

I made food for him. He helped me in finding the spices and all the stuff in the kitchen. Once I got familiar, it was easy for me to cook. I noticed that he ate like a Tyrannosaurus aka T. Rex.   I noticed how he stayed at home the whole day. He works from his study. I still didn’t know what he did for a living. In reality, I know nothing about him. And on the other hand, he knew a lot about me.   I made dinner for both of us. It took me an hour and the dinner was ready as I set up the table and waited for me. I've made up my mind to ask him what was happening regarding my case.   He came and sat down on the chair and rubbed his hands together. "It smelled delicious." He complimented me and I too sat down opposite him. We served ourselv
