I was back in my room. The bloodied dagger was on my bed, mocking me of the crime I never committed.
The door creaked open and my dad walked in. He looked murderous. There was a large slash on his chest and he was bleeding profusely but at the same time, he approached me. He was holding another dagger. It was bloody too.
I cried and jumped off the bed as I begged him not to hurt me. But he was furious, mad. His eyes were red in anger as he lunged at me. A cry tore through my lips when he stabbed me in the stomach.
There was so much pain as blood oozed out. I tried to stop the bleeding but it was impossible.
That wasn't it, my father continued to stab me as he yelled. "Murderer. Murderer. Murderer." And then he slit my throat with that sharp dagger.
An agonizing scream tore through my lips as he abruptly sat on the bed. My eyes misted as I tried to find the source of such a painful scream only to realize it was me screaming.
I immediately looked down and threw the sheets away from my body. There was no blood on me. I wasn't bleeding.
The door burst open and Damon rushed in. His eyes, were wild as he looked around the room hysterically for any threats, and when he found none his eyes snapped to me.
They widened slightly, finding me in this disheveled state. I was sweating badly yet my whole body was cold.
He ran up to me and crouched down on the floor right beside the bed.
"It's okay." He said in his deep voice as he cupped my face in his large hands, I stared at him scared.
I could still feel my dad stabbing that dagger in my body.
“M...my dad..”
"Breath, Riley." He instructed me and imitated the act and I followed his action.
"Just like that breath." And I breathed in deeply trying to relax my nerves.
"A..am I hurt? There was blood. D...dad tried to kill me." I stammered incoherent words while searching my body for any wound but there was none.
"You are not hurt. You are safe." He said gruffly while cupping my face softly. It was as if he was stopping himself from hugging me.
I nodded my head in understanding. "I... I'm fine." I told myself.
My breath hitched when he wiped the tears away from my cheeks. He was so close that I could inhale his musky manly scent that was soothing to me. I wanted to hug him and hide in his arms.
“You’re fine. I’m right here. I won’t let anyone hurt you.” He rasped and I blinked at him and nodded my head.
He stood to leave and my hand instantly grabbed his ring finger and little finger in my fist. “P...please don’t leave..” I pleaded, I didn’t want to be alone after that horrible nightmare, it was as if my dad would come out of nowhere and kill me.
He stared at my hand and then at me as I instantly let go of his hand. “I’ll be right back.” He said and left the room.
I took in deep breaths to stay calm, the door opened and he walked in holding a mug of hot chocolate in his hand.
My heart warmed up at his kind gesture when he forwarded it to me. No one has ever made something like this for me. Hell, no one even cared when I used to cry the whole night after the nightmare of my father beating me but this time the nightmare was different. He was killing me this time.
“Drink it, You’ll feel better.” He said softly.
I took the mug from him. "Thank you." My voice was so small but he heard it. Damon walked towards the couch as he sat on it. I quietly drank the extremely delicious hot chocolate and instantly I felt relaxed and calm. Once I was done he took the cup from me, our fingers touched making me gasp in surprise as I immediately pulled my hand back and looked down.
I think I saw him smiling at my act as he placed the cup on the side table. "Go to sleep Riley." He said softly and I quietly lay down. He was about to leave when I stopped him. “Please can you...uh.. sleep on the couch?” I requested and he smiled at me. “Why not? As you say, Angel.” He whispered and lay on the couch, literally more than half of his legs were dangling down the couch.
“Y..you should sleep on the bed, I will easily fit on the couch,” I said and he cocked his brow at me. “Are you mocking me for my massive build and height?” He inquired seriously and I gasped, horrified.
“No no, I would never, I just…” I was blabbering when he let out a low chortle. “I'm just messing with you. I’m fine here. Go to sleep.” He said softly and I smiled, laying down feeling safe with him in the room as sleep consumed me slowly.
Little did she know, his true identity would be revealed soon.
The next day I decided to leave the room and check around the place, I hope Damon won’t mind it. He was the one who said that I should roam around, the change of scenery could be helpful for me. I woke up way too early today. Damon was gone when I woke up and I felt sorry for making him sleep on that tiny couch. It was still weird for me that only one man lived in this whole big cottage. I was walking through the hall when I heard some music coming from the left corridor so I walked there slowly only to pause when I saw a huge indoor gym. The music was blasting but it wasn’t the gym that caught my eyes. It was Damon ‘hot’ Black. He was shirtless, only in his sweats as he was doing what I presume were pull-up
I made food for him. He helped me in finding the spices and all the stuff in the kitchen. Once I got familiar, it was easy for me to cook. I noticed that he ate like a Tyrannosaurus aka T. Rex. I noticed how he stayed at home the whole day. He works from his study. I still didn’t know what he did for a living. In reality, I know nothing about him. And on the other hand, he knew a lot about me. I made dinner for both of us. It took me an hour and the dinner was ready as I set up the table and waited for me. I've made up my mind to ask him what was happening regarding my case. He came and sat down on the chair and rubbed his hands together. "It smelled delicious." He complimented me and I too sat down opposite him. We served ourselv
Third person's POV Damon walked through the rusty, dimly lit corridor that reeked of a disgusting smell. He opened the door and walked in with slow threatening steps. His prey was already there on the chair, tied and gagged. Trembling like a leaf as if he has seen death himself. Damon stood in the shadows for the longest of time. Enjoying the terror that danced in the eyes of his captive. The pathetic thing tried to struggle, he even tried to say something but it was muffled with the gag. "Hello, Levi," Damon said in his gruff voice. The guy visibly flinched when Damon stepped out of the shadows. His face, a mask of anger. The guy stopped strug
Riley was home alone and the feeling was kinda creepy. Damon has told her that he has some work in the city and he would be back before 8 but now the night was approaching pretty fast, it was past 10 now and she was getting all scared. Her house was small and she never felt scared there because when her father wasn't home she felt safe and relaxed but here in this large mansion-like cottage without the presence of Damon she felt scared. Call her a coward or anything cause she has kept all the lights on in the whole place and with each passing second all the horror movies she had watched were going through her mind like a reel and Lord knows that she was not feeling alone at all. It was as if there was a ghost keeping an eye on her and all she wanted to do was run out of the cottage but then again, there was a fre
Riley grabbed the side of the sofa and at the same time she heard footsteps approaching."W...who is it? S..sstop right there." She stammered, taking steps back. She was now able to see slightly as her sight adjusted to the darkness."Please ghost, l...leave me alone.." She whispered to herself so very afraid."Are you scared of ghosts?" The deep rich voice enveloped her and her eyes shot open wide hearing that voice so close to her as she blinked several times. She took in a sharp breath and she instantly inhaled the familiar musky soothing scent of his.She was holding her breath all the time so when she heard the familiar voice, she finally breathed agai
Not a blink later the lights were back on and she turned to face him who only looked at her sheepishly. "Was just rechecking it." He said with a shrug.Riley took in a deep breath to calm her heart down as she started walking up the stairs and back into the hall. She was cautious and looked around with big eyes in case she spotted the ghost.Walking to the sofa she sat on it and touched her knee where she got the hit only to hiss in pain. She pulled her dress up and stared at the purple and blue bruise now.It would probably take a few days to heal. She shook her head and was about to push the dress down when a calloused hand grabbed her calves and next Mr. Damon was examining her bruise with utmost concern. His thi
Riley didn't scream Damon's name. She didn't want that wolf to know she was in the woods as well. She ran with cautious steps, making sure that she wouldn't make any noise but the sharp broken branches and twigs on the rugged ground were piercing the soles of her feet, making her hiss in pain..Moonlight was not enough for her to see everything clearly but she still went on and looked around for any glance of Damon. Why does Damon have to leave at such a time? Now where would she find him in this large forest."D..Damon." She said in a low voice because she was afraid. She wanted to save him but at the same time she was scared. She took a few steps ah
"No!" Riley screamed and thrashed, trying to get her arm free but he didn't let go and only tightened his hold on her."Relax Riley." His voice was a deep baritone causing chills to run down her spine."Let me go!" She screamed as she wasn't in her senses. She just found out the man who saved her, the man she was living with from the last few days wasn't even human. When he didn't let her arm go, she bit his hand with all her strength which only got him to wince a little but that was it. So she bit him harder but he just didn't let her go."Riley, listen to me." He said and the calmness of his voice was terrifying."No! Let me go!" She screamed and yet agai
4 years later. "Hush, baby, let mommy sleep," Damon whispered to his five months daughter, Sofia who stared at her father with her big gray eyes that were brimmed with tears which made his heart all mushy. "Let's go," He cooed and tiptoed out of the room with Sofia in his arms. Riley was tired, she didn't get rest properly yesterday because Sofia was sick and now his beautiful wife was sleeping and Sofia started crying. It was early dawn and he tried to put the little Angel back to sleep but she was fully active so he left the room with her so Riley could sleep. He walked into the room beside theirs and chuckled to find his three-year-old son fully awake and sitting in his crib looking around with his big blue eyes. A flash of recognition washed over his face and he let out an excited squeal looking at his father.
She gulped as soon as their eyes met. He looked angry and she didn't know why. "Why did you leave from there?" He growled in a low voice and she gaped at him. "Y..you were d..doing that..." she accused, completely flustered. He stepped inside the room and closed the door behind him. "I was doing what?" He asked calmly but his eyes had a predatory look to them making her gulp."T..that..." she trailed off not knowing what to say. He grabbed her wrist and twirled her around, she yelped when her back collided with the door and he slapped his hand on the door above her head. She breathed in sharply. He was hovering over her like a hungry beast. "What?" He asked in his thick raspy voice which sent her heart into overdrive."You were touching me," she mumbled flushed as she lo
"Want to have some ice cream?" Kayla asked, plopping down on the couch beside Riley. She peeked at her friend before pouting and giving her an enthusiastic nod. Kayla chuckled before she left to get her some.Riley was tense and she was studying hard. Tomorrow she has an exam and she has been studying hard for it, giving her all in. She hasn't seen Damon since morning. He was letting her focus but it feels like whatever she has studied in the past few hours has left her brain.Kayla came back, handing her an ice cream as Riley moaned at the yummy taste of it. She closed her books for a little breather."Relax girl, don't stress yourself, you'll do amazing." Kayla motivated her, earning a thankful smile from Riley after some time Kayla left and Riley again drowned herself in her books.
Damon stood up from his chair as he rounded the table and approached her. She was giving him a confused smile as he forward his hand towards her. "Dance?" He asked and she giggled. "I don't know how to," she said and next thing he grabbed her hand and yanked her up. She lost her balance and came crashing on his chest as his arms snaked around her waist. She looked up at him and he looked down grinning at her. "Come on, baby." He mused and walked her with him to the clearing. He placed both of her hands on his chest as he grabbed her waist and started to move slowly to the rhythm. "Just like that, follow my lead," he mused near her ear and swayed with the music. She understood the assignment within seconds and soon Damon was twirling her around as she laughed and gigg
"No one will look," she mumbled with the shrug of her shoulders."Riley." He took her name which meant he was extremely serious."You know what I want to do right now?" He rasped as he pulled her closer. His dark eyes pierced through her soul as his free hand snaked around her waist. She just gazed at him with her big blue eyes. So innocent and alluring."I want to rip this dress, bend you over the couch, and f*ck you nine ways to Sunday!" He growled near the shell of her ear as her whole body trembled in anticipation. She placed her palms on his chest, softly pushing him away, creating distance between their bodies. "Ummm, I.. I'll just change. I don't want to be late." She forced a smile at him and tried to head for the war
"I'm gonna miss you," Kayla mumbled as she hugged Riley. "Me too, but we'll be back in a week," Riley murmured, hugging her back as both the girls parted.Damon nodded at Fred and ruffled Kayla's hair before walking out of the packhouse. Riley was close behind as he opened the back door for her. She got inside and Damon took his seat in the passenger seat. He nodded at Jake who rolled the car onto the road as Riley waved at Kayla.Damon has to attend some business meetings in the city. She knows he works from home, back at the cottage he had a whole study and in the packhouse, he has his own office. He has told her about his chain of hotels and stuff and after that war thing, a lot of work has piled over and for that, he has to attend these meetings and solve all the issues. He didn't want to leave Riley behind so he told her to pack up as she was going with hi
His large calloused hand grabbed her ass and gave a rough squeeze to it. "D...Damon? W...what are you doing?" She stammered trying to get up but he pressed his hand on the small of her back to keep her in the same position. Her heart was ready to thump out of her chest when a loud sound resonated in the room as he spanked her. She jolted forward, her eyes going wide and a soundless yelp left her lips. "You were being very disobedient," He grumbled as the rough palm of his hand soothed the sting which he just caused. "H...How dare yo-ahh..." Her words turned into a whimper when his hand came down on her ass again, on the different cheek this time. "You need a punishment for disobedience," he growled. He just accepted the
Riley took extra long to get back to her room. Damon's room was now her room as well.He looked angry before but he should know she can take care of herself. She has gotten pretty well in the last three days, her wounds were healing but staying caged in the same room was making her claustrophobic. She needed the change of scenery and it wasn't like she left the packhouse, so he has no reason to be mad at her.She twisted the door. Took in a deep breath and entered the room, softly closing the door behind her. Even though the movie ended two hours ago, she stayed with Kayla and they made up a plan, which was a girl's day out. She was excited about it but she wondered if Damon would let her go with Kayla alone. She instantly noticed him sitting on the couch, his legs opened wide and his eyes looked predatory. "You are
"No, don't tell him," Riley muttered in a low voice. Kayla frowned, crossing her arms over her chest."He left me in charge. You are not supposed to be out of bed." Kayla said."I'm bored out of my mind laying there like a dead zombie," Riley said. Her eyes ogled at the books that were set neatly on the shelves. Three days have passed since that incident and Damon has been treating her like a newborn baby. He won't even let her get off the bed. She was glad he got some pack work and left Kayla in charge who was a lot more lenient than Damon."You do realise he'll lecture me later," Kayla muttered watching Riley looking for some good reads. She looked hella excited as soon as Kayla told her about a huge library at the packhouse. The Girl was hell-bent on coming here, she
