Chapter 20

"I'm afraid to give you my speculations, but the other young woman here is connected to the person who is suspected to have abducted Adele." He begun.  I place the phone on my shoulder and tilted my head to clip it. "Which woman and what connection do you mean?" I put the pendant back into the box and started taking off my pants.  "The one with shoulder-length hair. She's a daughter of the woman," Lucas answered.  "Daughter?" I repeated and stopped what I am doing. It's Catherine that he is referring to.  "Yes, Ms. Brown." He confirmed. "What else do you know about the daughter, Catherine?" I asked further. "She runs away from home when she was sixteen. Her mother always beat her since she was a kid. There's no information about her father. What's more interesting here is, her mother, Rosalia, is a half-sister of Rosemary." Lucas narrated. "Rosemary, the head servant of the Brown's mansion?" I clarified.

Chapter 21

I went straight to the hospital after meeting with Lucas. I decided to visit Catherine and Isabel to see how they are doing. I was walking in the corridor of the hospital when I heard the news on the television in the nurse's station. It caught my attention so I stopped and watched first. "Good for you," I mumbled and smiled at the nurse on duty before continuing my pace. Ram Tucky and the other men I fought with yesterday got arrested. They couldn't explain what happened in the warehouse because of the spell cast by the mysterious prince. However, what was clear to the police was that they found illegal drugs in the place. The Tucky Corporation is now on its hot seat.  I knocked before entering the hospital room where the two women are. There's no one inside except the two of them who are both lying on their beds. They are still unconscious and have not yet awakened since I brought them here yesterday. But the doctor, according to Lucas, said that they

Chapter 22

The three Ehtrehtians walked back into the thick woods. They reached a small stream and cleanse themselves. The cold water helped them freshen up. They all sat beneath a shady tree.  "I wish to go back to Ehtrehto Edis soon, I hope Lady Amara would agree to come with us." Peter started to speak. He was staring blankly at the leaves swaying with the wind. His hands are placed on the back of his head while leaning to the trunk of the tree. "I wish the same, Uncle," Connor replied with the same enthusiasm. "But, we have to be prepared for her decision. It will be hard on her side, especially that she grew up in this world," Conrad reminded them. "You are right," Peter agreed and sighed. "I don't know what Hunter did all of these days. He should have started telling her about her mission to our world, instead of just simply befriending her." He added with irritation. "Perhaps he has a valid reason," Conrad said with a sigh. "That's ri

The paper float again but this time it flew into the hands of Hunter. "Hunter!?" I didn't notice his presence earlier so I got surprised to saw him standing few meters away from me. "Time is getting near," He spoke strangely.  His brown eyes are glowing, and his pupils are narrowed vertically. It's the first time that I see Hunter like this. I didn't know that he can transform this way. The moonlight on his face is making him look mysterious. "What time, Hunter?" I asked inquisitively.  "Go back to Ehtrehto Edis. The Ehtrehtians need you," He pleaded. "Hunter, you knew I've gone through a lot there. My family was killed by the Aquans and they chased me! What am I? A fool that would go back to be slaughtered!?" I yelled furiously.  "You still don't understand things, Lady Amara," His voice was weak and weary.  He called me by that name again, twice just now.  "What is there that I need to

Chapter 24

Thankfully, my eyelids got heavy. As soon as my eyes were ready to close and fall back to sleep, the alarm clock rang again. It's only four in the morning. I forgot to reset it yesterday. I usually work during this time because it's the time when my mind works best.Without rising from my side sleeping position, I reached for the alarm clock on the bedside table and turned it off. I'm hoping to continue my sleep but before I could close my eyes, I caught a shadow on the wall. Someone is behind me! I teleported beside the owner of the shadow and clutched his neck, my claws are pushing deep into his skin."Isn't it too early for a visit?" I said in a hoarse morning voice."Sorry to disturb you," the man apologized in a low baritone voice."What do you want Prince of Terra Hella?" I said, not letting go of his neck."I-Um," he stammered. "Can you let go of my neck? Your claws hurt," he chuckled jokingly, but he was tensed.I removed my hands fr

Chapter 25

The ninjas leaped forward and pointed their swords towards the three of us. Three ninjas were attacking each one of us. It wasn't easy to fight with them especially that our only weapons were our claws. I avoided every strike they're throwing at me. I was keenly observing their movements. I plastered a dangerous smile when I already mastered the rhythm of their moves. One ninja is attacking me from behind so I quickly fled towards his back and clawed him deeply. Stains of blood remained on my claws when I lifted my hand. Another ninja was coming with a full-force overhead attack. Our eyes met and I saw panic in him. I seized the opportunity and used my telekinesis to control his hand movement until he was pointing his sword diagonally downward on his stomach. The sword was buried there and blood gushed out from his body. He fell to the ground and blood came out of his mouth. His body convulsed before he finally died. One more is left and we stood face-to-face with one anothe

Chapter 26

Since that daybreak that we fought with the ninjas, my nights have been filled with the woman who introduced herself as Farah. This dream made me anxious deep inside. I always see the horrible killings, even when I'm already woken. I know that there is a message she wants to tell me. So, to decipher the message and to free me from turmoil, I finally agreed to go back to Ehtrehto Edis. Hunter was thrilled and wishes to go with me, but couldn't do so. He was cursed so he couldn't set foot back in our world. Whoever did it to him, I don't know and he doesn't care telling me. The twin royal blood of Terra Hella who's prince's name is still anonymous, was happy with my decision. Same with Peter and his nephews Connor and Conrad. I still can't discern what my duty is, what my place is back in Ehtrehto Edis. It didn't occur to me before that I am someone important in my world, as these people say. No wonder the Aquans want me dead. I know things will be tough as s

Chapter 27

"She has fallen asleep," the prince spoke while watching Akira lying deeply asleep on the sand. "That's expected. She's been away for a decade and her body is adjusting to the atmosphere here." Peter explained, his eyes also on the woman. "She must have been very tired," Prince said while staring at her with inexplicable emotion. His heart wants to caress the woman but his hand is being cautious.  "We have to find somewhere to stay," Peter said and stood up. He shook the sands off from his pants. "We are heading back to Terra Hella. You can come with us if you wish to," the prince invited them. He also got up from sitting. "That so hospitable of you, but we must head to Ignis Hella," Peter politely rejected the offer. "If that is the case, then we will go ahead." The prince did not insist on his invitation. He understood Peter's resistance. He doesn't wan

Chapter 28

I finished my food shortly and got out of the house as soon as I'm done fixing myself. A cool breeze greeted me outside. I didn't expect to see beautiful scenery in front of me.  "Wow!"  I was overwhelmed by the sight of the clear sea and wide seashore on the foot of the marvelous mountain where I am now standing. I looked around hoping to see Connor and Conrad but I couldn't find them. I didn't take my meal for long, but they're already gone. I turned my gaze back at the house where I came out. It's small with cogon grass thatching. I roamed my eyes and saw houses around. Conrad and Connor's small house is the center and on top of this village. I am awed by the beauty of the mountains and green surroundings. However, the dreadful silence of the place is odd. It's like a sleeping village and it's intriguing. "Are there any people here? Why is it so silent?"  Out of curiosity, I tele

Chapter 29

"Do you want to get inside now?" Conrad asked me while walking towards us.I looked at the door with hesitation. I inhaled and nodded. "Yes, I'm going in." I started to step forward and opened the door, my hand is shaking. The two were following me. My eyes met the interior of the old house with the paint that has already faded. The overwhelming scent of oldness soothes my nostrils. The place looks dull and dreadful. I swallowed my saliva and blinked in succession when my eyes started to well up tears. I can hear the laughter we shared here in the past. I smiled bitterly upon remembering the happy memories we had in every corner of this house. I moved around and touched everything my hands could reach."It's good that these cabinets were not stolen." I laughed bitterly. "The Ignis Hella Knights does regular patrolling within this vicinity." Conrad promptly said. I simply nodded without saying anything. "I'll go upstai
