Chapter 49

"Yes," I tried to get up but my knees were too weak so I fell back. Prince Marcus helped me up. He signaled the barbarians to help Conrad and Connor. Two men assisted each of them. Prince Marcus assisted me to stand up. "Can you walk?" He asked. "Yeah," I answered. "Good," he smiled."I didn't know that we will meet again. And you save me again. Thank you, Marcus," I told him."It's my duty," he turned to the barbarians. "We'll take them to Manhakan, they must rest before continuing their journey."The barbarians obediently followed his order. "Do you know them?" I asked him."Yes I do," he nodded. "They are allies. Don't worry, they won't harm you again," he assured me.Connor who was very much wounded approached us while being assisted by two barbarians on each of his arms. "Prince Marcus," he greeted the man in a cold tone."Do you guys know each other?" I exchanged glances

Chapter 50

"There's only one Hunter that I know will be needing this water," the old woman said. "It's the great wizard that was betrayed by his friend General Thud of Aqua Edis." The old woman's face darkened. She was enraged by something that is in her mind. This puzzles me. "Connor claimed that his father was also betrayed by General Thud," I told the woman hoping to hear more of her stories. She did talk. "Hunter, Coel, King Suxx, and General Thud we're good friends," she spoke. "But greediness has eaten Thud," she sighed. "How did he betray them?" I asked further. She shook her head. "I don't want to remember," she smiled bitterly. She headed to the door and planned to leave. "Hey, wait," I called her. "I want to know more," I beg her. She smiled and whispered, "You look and act like your mother," she smiled before turning her back and walking away.Does she know my mother? Since

Chapter 51

Early morning at Manhakan Village. The people have woken up and started doing their works. I am already wide awake and I can hear their commotion outside the house. I rose from the bed and yawned. The two men are still asleep. I smoothen my clothes and walked near them. "Connor," I shook his shoulder lightly. "Hey, wake up man," I continued shaking his shoulder until he opened his eyes. "Good morning, my lady," he greeted me in a husky morning voice. "Good morning too, Connor. Get up now, we still have to travel," I reminded him."Alright," he stretched his arms and yawned before getting up. "Conrad," he woke his brother up. "Hey, brother," he shook his shoulders strong enough to wake the man up. "Hmmm," Conrad murmured. "I'm already awake. Stop shaking me now," he slapped his brother's hand who keeps on shaking him. "Alright, stand up now." Connor laughed and smacked him lightly on the shoulder."Ouch!"

Prince Marcus gave Conrad a horse. "Take this horse with you, my friend," he told him."Thank you, Prince Marcus," Conrad said happily. The two men hugged each other and bid goodbye.  "Until we meet again, my friend," Conrad said. "I will wait for that day," the prince responded. He patted Conrad's shoulder. He turned to smile at me and Connor.  I smiled back and Connor just nodded."Alright, let's get going," Conrad mounted into his horse. We and Connor did the same. "You take care," Hugo waved his hand."We will, thank you," I told him with a wide smile.Seb and Mon waved their hands. The villagers watched us leave. I saw the village healer behind the crowd. I can see her face very clear. She was very serious and I could feel her signaling me a warning.Danger. Akira opened her eyes. She felt better now. She sat down and noticed that they are not in the same place where they have fallen asleep. She turned her head around and realized that they are now near the portal. This puzzled her."Did someone bring us here?" She asked in her mind. "What a dumb question, of course, there is. We won't be here if no one brought us here," she scolded herself.Shortly, the two men have also wakened up. They are touching their temples and slightly massaging them. "Ouch," Conrad moaned in a low tone. "I think we've been asleep long enough," Connor said. "Wait, why are we here already?" He was surprised to see where they are."I don't know," Akira stood up. "We were already here when I woke up. Probably someone brought us here," she said. "Somebody is watching us," Conrad said in a whispering voice and slowly got up. "Could it be that they were the ones who brought us here?

Chapter 54

"Connor! Connor!" Conrad immediately went near his brother and shook his shoulder. He shook him hard but the man was still unresponsive. "Connor!" He checked on his pulse. It was normal. He felt his breathing on the nose, he was breathing.  "What's wrong with him?" Akira asked while closing the bottle.  "I don't know," Conrad replied.  Akira's mind was filled with a conscience. She shouldn't have insisted on drinking the water. "I should have not insisted."  "Don't blame yourself," Connor suddenly has spoken.  "Connor!" Conrad exclaimed and hugged him. Akira's eyes twinkled and her lips curved into a wide smile. "I think, the water is like medicine. You must have a proper dosage in every take," Connor said while massaging his head. "How did you feel?" Akira interrogated him. "I just felt dizzy, I don't know and I fell and I hear you and Conrad shouting," he narrated.  Akira

After eating the meal, we readied for our journey going back to Ehtrehto Edis. "Can I go to the Brown's home first?" I asked permission from my comrades. Connor offered me."No need, Connor," I smiled at him. "I don't want my grannies to interrogate me. I'm afraid, you might be mistaken as my boyfriend," I told him. "Am I not your boyfriend?" He furrowed his brows. "I want to ---."Hunter snorted. Greg grinned. "Shut up, Connor," Conrad quieted him. "Go ahead, Akira. Don't mind my silly brother," he smiled at me.I nodded. "I won't be long," I said and disappeared.***Brown's MansionI appeared in the living room. No one is here in these hours. I can hear the maids in the kitchen who are busy preparing for lunch. I watched Hunter as he cherishes his return. I spoke after the rain had stopped. "Let's go.""That's right, I think I have a lot to cope up with,"  Hunter soon agreed. "It's good to see that our horses are still here," I frowned after seeing them still on the spot where we left them. "No one would come here to steal them," Conrad smiled. "Unless they want to be killed by the protectors," he added.Okay, I understand. We rode on our horses back to Ignis Hella. "What happened here?" I asked when we pass by the first village.Dead bodies of villagers were scattered on the streets. There are also dead Ignis Hella Knights."I can almost guess," Conrad replied and climbed off his horse.Everyone followed him. We heard noise from the closest house. "So much for that, let's get moving," Hunter chuckled. He can sense that Greg is not comfortable with the conversation anymore. "Fine, let's talk about Greg and Sherika's wedding when we get to the castle," Connor winked at the young man and started cueing his horse forward.Their horses started to gallop into the next village. A few minutes later, they were entering the entrance of the next village. Some strands of their hair sprang up as they saw the horrible scenario in front of their eyes. "This is even worse than in the first village," Conrad clenched his fist and jumped off his horse. "Let's look for some survivors," Hunter instructed them. They tied their horses on the fences and searched around. They went to every household and corner. "Have you found any?" Connor asked his companions when they meet at the center of the village. "I've found no one," Conrad reported. "No one is left br

Hunter doesn't seem to hear them. He continued with his ritual. The flash of lightning and thunder continues to roar. "What's gotten into him? Has he gone insane!?" Connor can't help cursing him."He might have missed his power so much," Greg shrugged his shoulder as they cover themselves under the table. Lightning comes inside, so they needed to hide beneath the table. ***Akira in the Ignis Hella Castle...I was startled when I heard thunder. I went outside of my room straight into the courtyard. The clouds went dark and the lightning was frightening. "What is going on, Kaera?" I asked."I don't know, princess," Kaera replied. We were bewildered by what we are witnessing. Zoniah who was already behind us spoke. "It's the great wizard," her eyes twinkled with enjoyment. "Wizard? You mean, Hunter?" I asked her. "Yes, no one else but him," she smiled at me bef
