Chapter 59

"Princess," one servant called out. "Master Conrad, Connor, and two other men are already here," she reported to me."Where are they?" I asked. "In the throne hall with the king," she replied. "Alright, thank you," I smiled at her. "You are welcome, princess," she bowed before leaving.I turned to Kaera and told her, "I'll go to see them. Please take care of my sister.""Yes, you may go there princess. Don't worry about your sister, I'll take care of her," Kaera assured me.I nodded before heading to where my comrades are. I saw Greg sitting on a chair while playing with a puppy outside the throne hall. "Why are you here?" I asked him."Oh, Akira," he stood up. "I'm not needed inside." "Is that so?" I chuckled. "Yeah, I think you may get in now. They are waiting for you," he informed me."Alright," I smiled before walking away. "Can I come in?" I asked the knights

Chapter 60

"I agree with General Amber," I said.Prince Marcus just stared at Hunter. His eyes are not showing any emotion. Everyone's eyes were on Hunter. "Alright," he declared. "Long time ago, the four main empires of Ehtrehto Edis, as well as the independent lands go well together with one another. I've been living in this world for four hundred years, I've witnessed how our leaders walked on consensus. Until one day, greed found a way to King Huen's heart, King Hydrae's father, allowing the great demon Yquino to enter. The Guardians of Lights we're able to defeat Yquino. Everyone agreed to forgive King Huen. Peace within Ehtrehto Edis was then restored. His son, Hydrae took his throne upon his death. Again, Yquino controlled King Hydrae. However, we declined to coope

Chapter 61

We readied our swords for an anticipated attack. We looked at each other when we heard a rustling sound from the bar door.  "Who's there?" Prince Marcus called out.  There was no response.  "I'm asking again, who's in there!?" He slowly walked near the bar with his sword ready in his hands.  We were all startled when someone ran out from there and was intentionally going out of the inn. But before he could go out, Connor already caught his hand.  "Let me go! Let me go!" the little boy shouted and struggled to be free.  "Hey, hey, relax. We won't hurt you," Connor calmed the little boy. He held him on both shoulders. "Who are you?"  The little boy stopped struggling and looked at Connor with reluctance. "You won't hurt me?" Connor chuckled. "Of course, not. Why would we hurt you?"  The boy's eyes gazed on all of us. Then he spoke. "You are not one of them?"  "O

Chapter 62

I could feel something warm around my waist. My face was hitting a hard object which moves up and down like it's breathing. It was comfortable to rest my face there. I felt like someone is watching me so I opened my eyes slowly. I saw Seb, Hugo, Conrad, and Prince Marcus staring at me teasingly. "I bet you had a good sleep," Hugo grinned.I was about to respond when I saw arms wrapped around my waist. I blushed upon remembering what happened last night. I immediately freed myself from Connor's arms but he even tightened his hug. "It's okay don't mind us," Seb said.I blushed in embarrassment. "We're going out first, so you two could have a moment together," Hugo said. "Shut up!" I scolded him. The four men walked out of the house. I turned to wake Connor up. "Hey!" I struggle to free myself from his hug. "Connor, wake up!" I said loudly. "Hmmm," he mumbled and opened

Chapter 63

"I am," a harsh voice replied. The crowd dispersed to the side and a tall man with tan skin appeared walking towards them. "What are the great warriors doing in my place?" He asked. "So you are the mastermind of the capturing  of the people from the nearby village?" Connor smirked."Mastermind?" he reiterated. "Oh, yes. I am," he chuckled. He continued playing dumb. "I don't know that you are also interested in this kind of activity. You should have informed me that you will come. I would have reserved the best slaves for you. Or maybe, the best women," he said. Connor's eyes narrowed. "I am sorry to disappoint you, but we're not here to join in the bidding," he told the man. "Then what are you here for?" His left brow raised."We are here for diplomacy," Prince Marcus said cautiously. The man laughed. "Prince, I can't believe that King Hydrae's son knows that term." "Then, you sh

Chapter 64

"You can stay here, or maybe you can go back to your place if you want to," I told the people. "We will wait for our family members who are still on cells," Calix's mother answered. "Yes, young lady," another woman said. Others also agreed.  "Alright," I told them. I followed my comrades into the basement. True as the young man said, there were rows of cells down. The prisoners are crowded in one cell like canned sardines. They looked so weak and abused. "Be careful." I heard Prince Marcus say to the prisoners who were going out of the cell. The place is so dark. The only light is coming from a single lamp post. The whole place is a picture of terror.  Some are too weak to be able to walk. I concluded they were left to starve. Connor assisted an old man. He led him outside. Same with Seb and Hugo. Conrad and Prince Marcus are opening all the cells. They keep reminding them to be careful and not to push one another.

Chapter 65

"How did you get that?" He asked with a blank expression. I didn't answer him. I stared at Connor who is coughing hard after being choked. He is now sitting on the ground."Connor, are you alright?" He raised his hand as a response to my question. I sighed. This man is careless, he's not even thinking. "Stand up and move now before that man thinks of strangling you again," I told him in a sardonic tone, yet in my heart, I wish to pull him in my arms and comfort him."H-He won't do that again," Connor lifted his face and grinned. "He can't hurt his blood," he said. I got confused and so I asked him. "W-What?"He did not answer, instead, he stood up and walked towards his sword which had fallen when the chained man was choking him. He picked it and walked back into the man. "It's time for you to leave this place," he slashed the chain on the man's hand. "That won't work, son of Cole," he

Russ did not answer. His face darkened. His fists are clenched. He heaved a deep sigh. We are all staring at him. Waiting for his answer, but he did not say anything.  "Alright, let's think of a way to get out of here," I suggested.  "That's right," Prince Marcus agreed with me. We all started moving to inspect the whole place. "Wait," Russ stopped us.  We all stared at him. Anticipating what he has to say.  Russ walked towards the dead body of the beast. "Throw me the dagger," he told Connor who then responded.  Using the dagger, Russ cut one leg of the beast and walked into the now, closed wall where we entered.   "Maybe its blood can melt the stones," he explained.  "That's a brilliant idea!" Hugo exclaimed.  "Do not be too excited. We are not sure if it will work," Seb said.  "Blood," I reiterated what he said and I remembered something. "Hey, wait

Chapter 67

"We're here," Prince Marcus announced when we got near the boundary of Ignis Hella and Aero Edis. Massive walls stand mightily as the boundary between the two lands. The Aero Edis' guards are behind that walls. Breaking in will not be easy.  "Now, how do we get there?" I asked.  "We'll leave our horses here," Prince Marcus replied. "We can teleport inside, but not far," Russ said.  We all looked at him. When borders are closed, usually the ruler from the closed border casts a spell disallowing intruders to come in using teleportation. How could Russ' words be possible? "I know a certain trick how to do that," he said. "How?" We chorused.  "When someone has or had a strong connection from someone inside Aero Edis, they can use their teleportation ability," he said. "So, you can?" Conra

The goods were sold out before dark. Connor and Russ have not yet returned. Prince Marcus, Seb, and Hugo went near us."Where is Russ?" I asked him."I don't know. I didn't notice him leave," he replied. "Where is your brother?" Seb asked Conrad."He left without telling me where he is going," he answered. "We have to get to the keep now," Prince Marcus said. "But our two companions are not yet here, master," Seb said. "Then, let's leave them," Hugo said carelessly."I can't leave my brother," Conrad said. "I understand, but we can't stay here for long, or else the guards would suspect us," Prince Marcus reminded him."Connor will just follow us," I told Conrad. He sigh. For the last time, his eyes roamed in the direction where his brother went. "Alright," he said. We made our way into the keep like robbers. I can tell that these men are experts at breaking i
