Chapter 31

The place comes alive as people start dancing, others dive into the water carelessly. Girls in bikinis are paired with boys with no shirts on, flirting away."Have a drink babe." he offers me a red cup and I decline the first time but he insists."Please baby, it's just for tonight. Just one, okay? Have fun," he insists. "Alright babe. Only one." I grab the cup and take a log swig of the alcoholic drink.Seconds later, I spot a familiar face walking towards us and Blake smiles.Jim. I thought he said he wasn't coming."What's up Tim?" Blake says and I roll my eyes. "It's Jim, babe," I correct him and he shrugs as Jim walks closer to us. "Hey man. Congratulations, she's beautiful," he says and I cock my head to one side."You decided to pop in tonight huh?" I say and he wears a confused look then smiles. "Er, yeah. Why not have some fun. Let me get myself a drink. You two, have a great time

Chapter 32

A fire is quickly burning my insides, a fire that makes me want to grab Blake and do everything that I've ever wished to him. I gasp when his masculine, lean body comes into contact with my bare thighs. His pulls his trousers down and my throat goes dry as dust, trying to lick my lips, my eyes focus on his abs. He then turns back to me and his warm lips land on my throat. I can feel the heat of his mouth burning against my skin, sending my head reeling in wonder and I let out a soft moan. My mind just went blank, I can't even think of anything else right now. I squirm as the heat within me decides to rise deliciously and Blake notices, grabbing a fist full of my hair and kissing me harder and I hold on to his massive shoulders. His hands cup my breasts and instantly my nipples go rock hard underneath my lacey bra. Then his tongue grazes along my bottom lip and I swear, I lose my breath. My heart skips a beat when one of his hands reaches for the warm

Chapter 33

She bats her eyelashes again and taps her chin as if trying to figure out who I am. She cocks her head towards Carla. "Carla, you didn't tell me we had a new house help," she speaks and my jaw drops. Say what now?!Sabrina giggles and I clear my throat as Blake responds quickly."Mom, this is Kyrah and she's not a house help, she's–" Blake defends me but his mother cuts him off. So, it's his mother. Quite a classy young woman. "Oh, okay then. Darling, it's quite loud here and my migraine is killing me, and why did you have a party without inviting my sweetheart here?" she refers to Sabrina and both my eyebrows go up.Her accent is very lovely to listen to and at some point I forget I was angry at Sabrina."Mom, please can we talk about this later?" Blake begs. "Oh, Mrs Dawson, how I had missed you. Blake, I saw your mother at the mall and she invited me over for a drink. Isn't it lovel

Chapter 34

Kyrah's POVMy head is pounding and my entire body feels heavy. I groan when I remember last night's events. I keep my eyes tightly closed and turn over only to land on someone. My eyelids fly open and I realize not only am I in Scott's bed, but with Scott himself.I panic and jump up, but he doesn't seem to notice that I am awake. He is sleeping so calmly and I can't help but stare and wonder: how many times will I be waking up in his bed. He is in last night's clothes and I assume he might have fallen asleep while watching over me.His masculine face looks very handsome and I brush my knuckles across his cheek and his eyes fly open."Kyrah," he coos and sits up on the bed to face me. Rubbing his sleepy eyes. "What were you doing?" he asks. "Uhm... I err... Well there was a string on your face so I brushed it off, it must have come from the sheets." I am so bad at lying. He smiles and rubs his eyes again, yawning with his

Chapter 35

"Breakfast is ready," he announces and Roxy bounces up from the bed and heads out, followed by him and a lazy me. The bacon is well cooked and tastes very delicious accompanied with eggs and some sausages and buttered toast. "This is so good, Scott," Roxy comments with a mouth full of bacon and Scott smiles. Before I get the chance to comment on his well cooked breakfast, I hear someone yelling from outside. It sounds like a woman yelling and I pause the chewing to listen. "Guys, do you hear that?" Scott asks and we rush to the front door to take a peek. I gasp when I spot my mom yelling at Blake who is rubbing his temples in frustration. Why is he here? Of all places to look for me, he decided to come to our house. Where he knows my parents live. Where he knows he's not liked that much. Okay then. "He's looking for trouble." Roxy coughs and Scott gives her a weird look."He's already made Kyrah's mom aware that

Chapter 36

"It was a tough thing to do. I had sold every single thing I had just to buy drugs and later on I was living in an empty house with only the clothes I was wearing. Hadn't paid rent in five months and so I went to aunt Olivia and she kicked me out. She was disappointed and angry and said she'd cut us out off her paycheck. So if you haven't noticed, sis, your fees most likely hasn't been paid–" Vic explains to us his story, once we get back to Scott's house. "What? Why did she do that? She knows we have no money, dad is long gone, and mom is in prison. Where else are we supposed to get money from, Vic? Tell me!" Roxy yells, pacing from left to right, a habit that she's used to when she's worried and panicking. "Roxy, please, forgive me. It was all my fault... If I hadn't gotten myself into drugs and alcohol, we'd still be on the right track," his voice is deep and sorrowful. His eyes are a lovely hazel which brighten each time light hits th

Chapter 37

"Who's Blake?" Vic questions softly. "My boyfriend," I announce and his facial expression changes from calm to infuriated. "Oh." Is all that comes out of Vic's mouth. We later on decide to watch a movie since the awkwardness is too much and no one wants to talk.At dinner, we sit quietly enjoying the spicy chicken my mom cooked. Roxy is seriously licking her fingers when the front door opens and my dad pops in. "Whoah! I almost thought no one was inside. I didn't except you to be  this many," dad says when he gets to the dining table and eyes everyone in the room. He gives mom a kiss on the cheek and sits down. "Let me get you a plate, honey." Mom stands up from the table but dad stops her. "Oh, don't worry, I can get it." Then his eyes move to Vic, "Wait, Vic?" he squints a little at him. "Yeah, it's me." Vic smiles. "What a surprise! When did you arrive? Kyrah never

Chapter 38

My eyes are shut but I can still hear everything that's going on downstairs, I think mom is cooking breakfast. Seconds later my door is pushed open and when I open my eyes, Snow jumps on my bed with a red rose flower in his mouth and he barks twice. I chuckle."Good morning to you too, Snow."He drops the flower on my bed and moves closer to me and I pet him."Good boy. Where did you get this from?" I ask, knowing he clearly doesn't understand me but in a way I always feel like he does. He barks again and leaves my bed, stopping at the door as if asking me to hurry up and leave my bed. His white tail wagging quickly. "Okay, okay. I'm coming," I respond, leaving my room and following Snow downstairs, where I find dad cooking. In his hand is a spatula and he is wearing a white and orange checked apron. "What in the world is going on today?" My brow is raised and dad laughs. His eyes move to the stairs behind me and I follow his line of si

Chapter 39

"This car, feels amazing. I love it, babe. Thank you so much." I steal a glance at him and he winks at me. "You're welcome, babe. So where are you taking me?" he cocks his head to the side and I chuckle. "Just hold on tight and you'll see." At that moment I step on the gas and speed off. I feel like a rebel. Like a princess who has eloped with her prince charming to a far away, forbidden land. A thought crosses my mind. What if my mom finds out that Blake bought me this car, what would I tell her? Focus on now and leave later alone. If it gets to that point, we'll figure it out. I tell myself. Minutes later, I stop the car at the beach. It doesn't look as lovely as the last time I was here with Scott since right now, the sun is up and apparently the seagulls are very few today. No waves at all, but hey, I am here to enjoy the moment. As we walk to the shore, Blake holds my hand and we both stop walking. He

Chapter 40

Kyrah's POVTime flew like a rocket ship ever since Blake and I had our little bonding in my new car. Things changed, and so have I. It's been two months of pure bliss with Blake and I can't explain how high I have been on love. He makes me want to dance around whispering his name. When he calls, I run to him. When he speaks, I become weak and when he touches me, I run wild. That's what he does to me.As I sit here in my hostel, busy doing my hair, the door opens and Maeve walks in, arms across her chest. I can see from the large mirror in front of me that she is wearing a sad expression on her face. I turn to face her and she pushes her glasses up her nose. A habit I have come to understand means that she's either angry, sad or disappointed."What?" I ask her. "Where have you been, Kyrah? And where are you going now?" she sounds concerned. For real. "None of your business, Maeve," I say, turning on my seat to face the mirror.
