Chapter Forty

Amante POV                  It’s strange. I am the only one who felt the ground shakes. Everybody seemed unaware, idly standing in front of me and waiting for my next set of commands. I am certainly not imagining things here. That’s out of the questions!               It’s so sudden and quite strong. That’s why I think it’s unlikely they are not aware of its intensity. But I don’t want them to think I’m turning insane and just shut myself up.“I’ve received a report. We’re heading to the forest. She’s wrecking the place!”, I announced in a neutral tone.“What are we going to do with her? Are we allowed to hurt her?”, asked Mazia

Chapter Forty-One

Narrator's POV                     It was past midnight. The surroundings was tranquil and chilly.                 Amante can be seen walking out from the old wooden shaft where the human couple resides.                It’s not very strange though. He had several fleeting stops here which mostly were during the darkest hours of the night.                He was wearing a strange expression on his face when he pranced his way out of Detective Andrew's humble house. He seems to be in trouble with something else.                Mikaela was by the door, keeping an

Chapter Forty-Two

Narrator’s POV       Mikaela’s dead. But her husband could not even wail for her. There were still four wolves and he’s surrounded.  Detective Andrews was beyond angered. He felt nothing but disgust to these beasts. He aimed at the nearest wolf but was pushed back by another. He was sent flying across the living room, landing inside the kitchen down the floor. The door was smashed by the impact. He groaned in pain but felt the shotgun still fastened tightly on his left arm. This gave him a slight hint of hope. He staggered to wrap his hands at the handle of the gun and pull it up to his chest. He kept his stance lying on the floor with the approaching paws of his attackers became clearer on his vision. He gradually made himself face-up the growling critters. He hold the shotgun upside down aiming for the gas stove a mere feet away from him. One bulky

Chapter Forty-Three

Narrator’s POV       Inside a stylishly luxurious modern office, Detective Andrews was staring back at the man in front of him. The Apostheosis desk between them was empty except for the Luxxu Pharo 1 table lamp that stood splendidly at the right side of the slab. Its layered artificial lighting illuminates a much elegant atmosphere to the room which was an embarrassment to the natural brightness of the sun. From his seat, the sophisticated Charla office chair was bestowing Sir John Dave Lausanne an aristocratic aura. Chapter Forty-Four

Narrator's POV         Hovering in the air was an Augusta Westland AW109 Grand Versace VIP Helicopter. Onboard was the patriarch of the Lausanne clan together with Detective Giovanni Andrews. The six-point three million dollars privately-owned luxury chopper was fully covered in Versace leather with gold and crystal designs on interiors. Detective Andrews was in awe gaping at the extravagance around him. His acquired wealth from his conspiracies with Amante earned him a fortune that he and his wife Mikaela had expended on some business ventures with the Squat Squad. But it was just a pinch in comparison with trillions of dollars the infamous family got. And that was what gave him the resolution to face the imminent risk of dealing with the clan. However, as they were approaching the magnificent mansion on the island, cold creeps of dread ti

Chapter Forty-Five

Amante POV Werewolves against humans. This would be my second chance to witness the destructive clash between our races. But this time, the outcome would be different. I’ll make sure of that! I am not the weak child anymore who cowered in a safe dwelling while his family and friends were being murdered mercilessly. My years of pent-up anger and thirst for revenge had me ignited the power in me. Amaltheo’s roused as well. We are together at this crucial time. I can feel the exceptional strength embodied in my entire existence. I am in for a killing spree tonight. The hellacious-red silhouette of the night comes from the glimmering Trifecta moon above, a distant witness of the theater of death on the battlefield burnished with entrails, and the bitter, mordant smell of corpses emanated from it. The sodden earth became oily with ichor as a swarm of our opponents pummeled by a horde of beasts. Serried ra

Chapter Forty-Six

Amante POV     “Look at him tremble! He looks so funny I could kill him happily.” It was amusing to watch the traitor Detective Andrews as he frantically holds on to his old rifle. Fear was visible in his wrinkled face. “Patience, Amaltheo! I need to get something out of him first.”, though I feel the same eagerness to stomp on this traitor, it’s best to squeeze some information from him. And I need to know why he betrayed me. And I have asked him to check on Allyssa’s family. He must have discovered something terrible to act rashly this way. “Have you done what I have asked you?”. I stepped my way around him, intimidating him with my gigantic wolf. The turncoat must have had his tongue pulled out of him. He’s torturously quiet. He stood stiffly for a moment, then there was a sudden change in his expression. His stares became empty of any emotions and seemed like this was the f

Chapter Forty-Seven

Amante POV The emerging early morning sunlight on the horizon gradually removed the dark cloak of the night. Its generous brightness hugged the glimmering snowflakes that showers from the sky. I slowly get up from my crouching stance. It’s weird to feel weak and vulnerable, and somehow, I knew it’s because of wolfbane. I am not invincible, after all! My packmates, roughly about ten thousand of warriors who had survived the night because of me, huddled around with curious expressions on their faces. “They were beyond belief when they found out you survived the blast.”, says Amaltheo as I shake my body to get rid of the powdered wolfbane left on my furs. The werewolves around jerked away to avoid being touched by the poisonous talc. I smirked at their cowardly behavior. “Beta Maziar! How’s the search for my mate?”, I mentally asked as I trudge my way further from the hole. It’s giving me the creeps. Beta Maziar did not resp

Chapter Forty-Eight

Amante POV     It was a satisfying sex. I’ve had my fill. The howling inside my mind made by my deranged spirit wolf was futile. I could feel the burning pain in my nerves, but I ignored it. It was of Allyssa’s, not mine. It satisfies me to know she’s hurting. “Alpha King Amante, we’ve found your human mate. We bounded her in a tree here by the north of Antilla Forest.” A sudden report from one of my pack warriors stopped me in my tracks. I was half-way up to the peak. Antilla forest lies several miles away from here. I was tricked! “Beta Maziar!”, a burst of anger made me leaped back to him and pinned him down the ground. My paws were shaking in wrath as I slowly grate the skin of his face. An agonized wailing echoed helplessly on the frozen gorge. “You, worthless scum! Allyssa’s on the other side. You’ve called me away from the opposite direction!” “I am regretful, my king! H

Chapter Forty-Nine

Amante POV  I have done my best in everything I did. I was simply working out on my dreams. Was it wrong to aim for the best for oneself? I believe everybody has their own set of goals in life. The only difference I have was that I set it all up, plan it over and over, then make it come true. I see nothing wrong with that. Betrayal, murder, those were inevitable. Sacrifices must be made, somehow.I don’t know how long I have been convincing myself that I was the victim here. That it was Amaltheo and Allyssa who had wronged me. How dare they abandon me?I have watched my packmates leave, turning their back on their Alpha King. I’d punish them when I woke up.Yes. I think I’m still dreaming. I’m safe and sound asleep in my warm bed, having the most horrible nightmare I could ever have. Of course, this couldn’t be happening in real life. I’m the
