Chapter Twenty

Amante POV                      All werewolves have their spirit wolf. At some certain age, our wolves are awakened.  It is an essential part of our existence. It distinguishes us from humans. It is known to be the strongest part of our being. When in wolf form, our senses are heightened, our strengths tripled, and we can smell and sense our mate at an approximate distance. In human form, our wolf stays inside our minds, like some sort of inner ghost and/or in human language “conscience”. They are supposed to be our protector, confidante, and spiritual guide. A werewolf without a wolf can be considered a mere human. We are called werewolves simply because we have a wolf. Once the awakening takes place, it is very unlikely for a wolf to depart from the werewolf’s body, like souls from hum

Chapter Twenty-One

Amante POV                      I look straight into Amaltheo’s eyes. I want to see him through and find something to entice him to get back inside of me. I admit I am nothing without him. Even my packmates would treat me differently or worst bully me. I’d be susceptible to humiliation and might even be banished from the pack. All my efforts to be the Alpha King would fall down the drain. I need Amaltheo. What does he want that I can offer in exchange for his loyalty to me?                I watch attentively. Amaltheo crouch down beside Allyssa. He’s trying to reduce the coldness around her. Ah! That’s why she survived. She managed to withstand the freezing cold because of my spirit wolf. The heat from his body is enough to keep her

Chapter Twenty-Two

Amante POV                      I carry my sleeping mate back to her room. Her body isn’t even cold even though she’s been in the freezing dungeon the whole night. Amaltheo seems to take very good care of Allyssa. A very dedicated mate indeed!                I put her down on the bed, and cover her with the blanket. She cuddles the pillow next to her. She looks content and peaceful in her sleep.                I notice her face still holds the beauty that mesmerizes me once, but I’m not sure if it is beneficial to me at all. She looks innocent and naïve. She has a gentle aura on her, comforting and loving.         &nb

Chapter Twenty-Three

Amante POV                      I never thought up the Andrews to have any knowledge of Allyssa's family background. I gape at their silly faces as they keep on blabbering things about her family's massive wealth and indescribable power in Leverland.                I have to instruct them to dig into my mate's history, something that they alone can do without much complications on my part. They subsequently gasp in disbelief when they heard Allyssa's name.                            *********   “Lausanne? There is only one family in Leverland that holds that family name. And they are the wealthiest out there!”, exclaims

Narrator POV                   A cute little girl can be seen playing unaccompanied in a vast array of lavender and chamomile gardens. She’s around nine years old or so. She’s has a fair and creamy complexion that complements the loveliness of her face. Chapter Twenty-Five

Narrator's POV                The children were sitting peacefully in the gardens, watching butterflies kiss the shy flowers in innocent awe. Their guardians can be seen at the far ends vigilantly scouring the vicinity for dangers that might be lurking in the shadows.                They have just finished conversing about the incident. Allyssa, after crying out loud because of fear, finally relaxes. The strong and charismatic scent of the flowers around her soothed her panic attack.                Nobody dares to talk yet. They were all sensitive of Allyssa's state of mind. About an hour after, a croaky voice broke the silence. “Are you still afraid, Allyssa?”, asked the bo

Chapter Twenty-Six

Narrator's POV                    Aswang. Nobody has heard of them before. Unlike various shape-shifting evil creatures such as werewolves, vampires, and ghouls, these monsters are not well known in the world.                Rumors had it that they only exist in this particular locale, the fast-rising third world country of Leverland which was true at least some hundred years ago. Little did the world knew, they were slowly but surely spreading to different parts of the globe.                They are a mixture of bloodsuckers like vampires, flesh-eating beasts like ghouls, and shape-shifters like werewolves. They look like normal humans during the day.    &

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Narrator's POV                    Allyssa's awakening ritual finished before the break of dawn. Her clan members came back home safely although soaked in the blood of their victims. To where they released their appetites was a mystery to her.                Everybody slept in the whole day. The island was quiet and peaceful. Not a trace of what transpired last night can be found on the grounds. Even the tower looks like a great edifice to view.                Before everyone wakes up, Allyssa took off to her playhouse in the garden. It was mid-afternoon already. She cherishes the flowers on her way. This was her paradise. The view was still fantastic. It was well-maintained by

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Narrator's POV                  Allyssa had been staring intently at the bed inside her underground escape room on the campus. It wasn’t anything she had ever imagined. It had been past an hour since Mr. Guibert ushered her into her new room. She was instructed to strictly keep it a secret. From her room on the second floor of the building, a narrow alley was connected from her huge wardrobe down below an underground space.                 It was a rectangular, spacious, and well-equipped compartment. Coated with silver all over the place, she was informed about its perfection to defy against other beasts. It was modernly designed and high-tech in every sense of it. There were CCTVs around the campus she could access through the monitors on the top part of th
