First encounter

The loud streets were filled with the sound of rain pouring all of a sudden. Sounds of the wind howling scared everyone. Some ran for shelter while others accepted it with open arms. However, in that hustle-bustle, no one noticed that one girl. She wore thin clothes in the cold weather and didn't have any footwear on. Golden hair and fair skin, so pretty, that it was hard to not notice her; but at this point, it was the complete opposite. She ran through the crowd, pushing people away and not bothering to look back. Some cursed and complained about it while others just moved out of the way. However, only a few noticed that the fragile girl was a crying mess. Her hair was drenched in the rain and her cheeks flustered. The bare feet were covered in wounds in no time but still, she didn’t stop. Her face was red and her vision blurry due to the tears that filled her eyes. She was at her weakest spot and oh! what a good time to be surrounded by people who did nothing bu

An unusual power

The sounds of the birds chirping early in the morning were long taken over by the honks of the cars that drove outside. There was a minor accident on the road, yet people were making a huge argument out of it. The impatient drivers hooked loudly, making it the noisiest morning so far. "Argh!" Eliana groaned as she rolled over to the other side of the bed. Living right in front of the road where the accident had occurred, made it impossible for her to sleep in even on weekends. The noises increased every second and she finally jumped out of the bed. Walking towards the tiny window of her room, she screamed at the drivers, "Just shut up with the honking!!" Although it made no difference in the noise; a few people did apologize to her. They didn’t want to mess up with her in the morning. It was a bad start for her, jinxed from the very beginning. She turned around, her golden hair waving softly as she moved. The r

Given up on everything

Eliana left the cafe first, in a hurry, making an excuse that she was getting late for classes. However, in reality, that was just an excuse she just wanted to get out of that situation. She couldn't see him like that, fighting to find a reason to love her when he clearly didn’t.Leo didn’t question her even when he could see that she was avoiding him the past few days. He stayed silent - no goodbye, good luck, or even a faint smile - and just watched as she ran away from that situation. He somewhat did want her to go away. A voice in his head told him to just end this relationship but he didn’t want to hurt her. Not after he knew what she had gone through her whole life. All those thoughts of Leo’s were killing her as she couldn’t avoid him even when she kept avoiding his gaze the whole time. He was constantly comparing her to his ex-girlfriend again but the only thing she couldn’t understand was why he still desperately tried to find reasons he loved her. Why didn’t h

Why did you adopt me?!

It wasn’t a normal evening at all, Eliana was dressed formally even though it was just a dinner with her family. Her hair was open yet nicely styled; she wore a purple top, paired with a black mini shirt which had a slit on the thigh. She was wearing a long brown jacket over it, and had paired it with brown boots, which she had removed after arriving at the dinner. She was sitting straight, not even daring to breathe loudly around them. She didn’t want them to be more disappointed in her but knew it was too late already, no matter what she did they wouldn’t ever be satisfied. They won’t ever praise her for anything or even show a little sign that they loved her. It felt suffocating to be with them even though she had lived with them for years. Her mother, Julia, wore a silk dress and was focusing only on her son. Her father, Owen, dressed in a black suit as always, was eating quietly. He had not even looked at her once since she had arrived. Her elder brother

The last push

She took the bus and went to his place without informing him beforehand. She wasn’t thinking of any of the problems that she had with him. At this point, he was just the only person who understood her and stood by her side even after knowing everything about her. That was one reason she was still with him, hoping he would be back that way. The journey through the bus was quite long and her mind was a mess the whole time. She was overthinking a lot, getting anxious, and losing her mind again. I'll stay by your side

"I...I can't anymore…" She closed her eyes and remembered that guy from 2 months ago. "I can't endure this anymore…" Tears streamed down her eyes. "I'm sorry but I'm breaking the promise...I'm sorry…" She sobbed and begged for forgiveness from the person she didn’t even know. Cause ironically he was the only one who cared for her."You're apologizing to me, a step away from death but still crying so much, why?" That guy appeared behind her. She flinched cause as far as she knew there was no one around her. But it wasn’t that much of a big shock as she had doubted his identity already. He stepped on the fence standing beside her. He had the same appearance as before, a blue shirt over a white t-shirt paired with jeans. He looked a little faded just as before, one could see through his body as if it was a little transparent."Why are you like this?" He wiped away her tears. "Why are you hurting yourself so much…?" She sobbed harder and fell on her

Chapter 7

"W..who are you?" Her voice quivered as she looked at Luan. "Why can't he see you or hear you…?" She referred to Leo, who couldn’t even sense Luan’s presence the whole time. Luan could tell that she was indeed shocked by Leo’s reaction earlier. However, she wasn’t afraid.Luan smiled softly as he approached her, to hold her hand so he could get some strength to tell her the truth. She didn't back away as someone else in that situation would. She wanted to know his reality so wasn't scared of facing it no matter what it was. "Now's the time I'll tell you my reality." He looked deeply into her eyes and extended his hand towards her, and she took it without hesitation. She could see a sense of sincerity in his eyes. Her heart couldn’t agree with the thought that he was a bad guy so she didn’t believe that thought at

Chapter 8

The rays of the sun entered the room, falling onto Eliana as she was sleeping on the floor, a thin blanket covering her body and a pillow supporting her head. It was nothing like the usual noisy morning. She could hear birds chirping for the first time. She wasn’t tired and was feeling light and no stress, no nightmares, and no emptiness as she usually felt. She sat up and looked towards the window, the sky was clear and the sun was shining brightly. She smiled as the weather was just uplifting her good mood. She leaned against the sofa again and just admired the beauty of nature.“Feeling better?” Luan asked and he popped out of nowhere. She jumped up due to shock. “Sorry.” He said and laughed awkwardly.

Chapter 9

“Why are we here?” Eli asked as she stared at the place in front of her. She looked nervous. They were in front of a therapist’s clinic. And that stressed her out, she didn’t want to be there.“You need to go in,” Luan said in a commanding tone. “Noooo!” Eli whined but he grabbed her so she wouldn’t run.“Eli, you know you gotta take the first step someday.” He tried to convince her. “But nooo” She whined and they sat on a bench in a park nearby. “Now tell me…” He said calmly as he faced her. She was fidgeting with her fingers again, scratching the tips of her fingers. He held both her hands to stop her from doin

Chapter 10

“Is this your college?” Luan said as he stared at the college building. His jaw dropped cause it was way bigger than he had expected, with numerous buildings built at some distance. She smiled on seeing him so mesmerized at such a small thing. They arrived at the college after leaving the clinic.“Haven’t you seen it while roaming around?” She teased him. “Ohh...that was a lie.” He said after a long pause as he shrugged and she looked at him all confused. “I put positive energy around you to protect you so my powers got weak. I had to go away to heal myself a little…” He explained and looked away as he was nervous to see how she would react. She didn’t say anything and just kept walking
