Darker

Seraphine sat on the couch in Kayden's office, watching the man work. She wasn't particularly bored as various matters went through her mind. Honestly, she was being treated too generously by Kayden. This could be due to the fact that he recognized her. But then, she brushed that thought away, believing it to be too far-fetched. This was because the her right now was too different from the Seraphine Kayden once used to know.  Even Seraphine sometimes doubted she was actually a Vougeious once, judging from her state. Seraphine right now didn't even feel like a woman, let alone a noble lady. Even if Seraphine acted wildly, she still had the mannerisms of a noble lady. Probably if she continued with this act, one of these days, she would start doubting her own gender and consider herself to be a true man. Seraphine sighed at that though

Mouse

One of the thing Seraphine was extremely sensitive to was hate, and she could feel it being directed towards her, mostly by the males, while she followed Kayden the entire day. Maybe because she had been with Kayden, the intensity was lowered, and the most they did was only glower at her. Without his presence, she would most likely be tortured by them physically. Just the thought of that was enough to make her shudder. The fact that she was patronized by others for the crime of harassing her own body would be funny to her if her life wasn't on the line. At least, praises of 'Seraphine' didn't reach back home or else she would be worried about a place to go back to. Of course, this didn't imply she was safe from the clutches of this fervent fanboys. They could totally follow her back home, and they had the backing of money. A sigh escaped from Se

Inconvenience

Seraphine did feel extremely restless when she was kept beside Kayden, not doing anything. Therefore, pushing down her fear, she decided to question the man when she was taken with him for inspection. "Commander Clementis, I appreciate the energy you are putting in this, but do you know how long will it be taking for the charges to be cleared?" Seraphine truthfully didn't understand what the man was looking for or was trying to prove. He knows in his heart, Seraphine had been falsely accused yet he is continuing with this. Of course, Seraphine knows this is for the greater plans he is attempting to come up with. But at this point, Seraphine was starting to get curious on what that is.  No matter how hard she tried, she wasn't able to get her mind off it. That's why, she decided to bite the bullet and break off whatever was between Kayden and her. Kayden remained silent. This

Turn down

"You're refusing?" The man seemed to be pretty taken aback. "You're not going to tell me that I am obliged to follow through, Commander Clementis," Seraphine pointed out.  She almost groaned at the thought of those strenuous exercise that came with strict routines and a frightening teacher. This is not what she wanted; she wanted real task.  However, she doubted she would have the privilege to that for a long time. "No," he curtly answered. Noticing his change of mood, Seraphine wondered whether or not his pride had been hurt by how quick she was to refuse. Then again, Kayden was far from seeming that petty. Catching up to the man and standing beside him, Seraphine chimed, "I would prefer to be beside you at all times without working. It would make it easier for me to admire you." °°°

Shabby couch

Seraphine stared at the shabby couch in the room. The furniture didn't look like it would provide comfort to Seraphine, and she was contemplating whether to rest on it or the bed. Of course, matters would have been better if Kayden was considerate enough to book another room for her. However, it was him paying, not her, so she didn't have much space for complaints. "It's fine. You can manage," Seraphine mumbled before going over to the couch. At the end, although the couch was small, at least it seemed softer than the floor. The entire trip caused the muscles in her body to ache, and hitting the couch, she was ready to fall asleep with a smile on her face when her name was called. "Blair." Instantly, on reflex, she straightened up and sat on the couch. Her eyes fell on Kayden who now stepped out of the shower, and his chest was fully on display. For a second

Up to North

"This path seems familiar. Are you going to the North?" Seraphine questioned. A sparkle settled in her eyes due to recognizing the place. "Hmm," Kayden answered. Cheerfully, Seraphine stated, "I came here once before with Hamilton. Back then, we were too frightened to experience. Let me tell you, I have great courage, but it's Hamilton's fear that ended up affecting me." "Is that so?"  "Yes! There's absolutely nothing that I fear, well, except for pain I suppose. But these days, I feel like I have pretty much become resistant to that," Seraphine said. Maybe because of the mood she was in, Seraphine carried on, "In the beginning, I thought you were to torture me and was petrified.  But it turned out that Commander Clementis is an extremely generous man! I am fond of how you uphold your principles and don't harm the innocents even for th

The temple

"No, ordinary people can't visit the Temple. Among us, only Commander and few other Nobles can," the man answered. At that, Seraphine had the urge to roll her eyes. Even the Temple sought after the influential. No wonder the religion wasn't widespread across the country. Seraphine did read about how the Temple wants to keep it's surroundings pure and all that. However, if that were to be the case, the person selected wouldn't be based on status. Status has nothing to do with how darkened one might be. Nonetheless, Seraphine made no comment on how power hungry the Temple was and spoke out, "What name do you go by, Sir Knight? Of course, if you aren't displeased to answer that." "Certainly not." The Knight chuckled. "You can call me Daniel Chizer. My rank isn't that high among other personal knights of Commander Clementis.  Nonetheless, I am

Repaying

"Repay the favour?" Seraphine questioned raising one of her eyebrows. "Ah! Your land, so your snow. Is that how it works here?" She received no reply from Kayden and carried on, "Commander Clementis, my life belongs to you. How about it? I will do anything you like." "Keep that in mind," he stated. With that, Kayden began to step forward, and a wide grin formed on Seraphine's face before she questioned, "So, am I allowed to play or not?" "Do as you wish." Hearing that from him caused Seraphine's eyes to sparkle, and as for the promise made to Kayden, she didn't worry much about it, trusting the man to not do anything unjust to her. There's nothing of use Kayden can take from her, and moreover, she was grateful to him. Being under his presence worked as protection for her. She was well aware how she would be long dead if it wasn't for him taking

Overexertion

This was the second time she was meeting Noah after changing bodies. Conflicting emotions rose in her while she observed the man. Last time, she wasn't able to properly watch him. Despite his age, the man was still attractive. In fact, it felt as if the time added more charm to him. Given that now she was Seraphine, she would've praised on his everlasting handsome face. Just as Seraphine felt Noah's eyes on her, she instantly turned away her gaze. It was mostly instinctive on her part. When she finally looked back to him, he no longer paid attention to her and exchanged greetings with Kayden prior to sitting beside him. The two of them started to discuss matters. Everything was strictly business, and only few parts of it was something Seraphine was able to understand. The condition at the North was terrible after the recent war, and Kayden came here to distribute th

Impression

Those words of his caused Seraphine's lips to part while she gripped on to the material of the couch tightly. No matter how she tried to hold in her emotions, not direct her thoughts towards her family, it was impossible. The Vougeious is a huge part of her, and thinking about the condition her brother was in made her heart clench painfully. What was worse that she couldn't see or confirm his health on her own? Previously, it was her who rushed off to each of her siblings' side when they were sick— most likely due to her busybody personality— and now she was incapable of checking up on Clayton.  This hit her hard and upsetted her. Tears were starting to well up in her eyes, and in order to prevent anyone from noticing them, she began to force happy thoughts in her mind. She decided to start thinking randomly. However, nothing could help distract her mind, and her attention kept on ge
