Chapter 6 Zacharias and Child Abuse

"Why are you here? The five years Von endured in prison is enough to atone for her sins. What else do you want?" Caleb defended Yvonne, glaring at Zacharias furiously.

"Atone for her sins?" Zacharias sneered. "And what about the debt she owes me? Should I kill the bastard for that?"

Yvonne stared at Zacharias in horror. She knew he wasn't kidding. Scared, she went down on her knees and pleaded, "I'll do what I promised, Zacharias. Please, just let me go. Give me a few days, please."

All she wanted was a few days with her son. She wondered, 'Is that too much to ask?'

Heartbroken, Caleb looked at Yvonne. "Get up, Von. He won't do anything to us." Yvonne didn't used to be like this. She used to be pampered, but now…

"Won't do anything to you?" Zacharias laughed. "Caleb, you know nothing about society." He raised his hand, and his bodyguards charged ahead, punching Caleb.

Caleb was buff and he worked on construction sites all the time, so of course he could fight, but he was outnumbered five to one. It didn't take long for him to lose.

"Stop it! Zacharias, please, stop this!" Yvonne started to cry, begging Zacharias to stop beating up Caleb. "I'll do anything, but just let Caleb go, please!"

"Don't grovel to him!" Caleb roared. He wanted to save his sister, but he couldn't break free of these bodyguards. "Let him kill me. Let's see if he can do that!"

"You can do anything?" Zacharias grabbed Yvonne's chin. "You're a bitch through and through."

"Don't touch my mommy!" Brady pounced ahead and chomped the back of Zacharias' hand.

Zacharias' face fell. He raised his hand, intending to hit this bastard, but he didn't hit the boy. Instead, he slapped Yvonne instead.

Yvonne pulled Brady back, glaring at Zacharias with caution. "Don't touch my son." Zacharias disgusted her. She couldn't believe she used to love him.

Zacharias' jealousy flared the moment Yvonne defended the bastard. "Even now, you won't tell me who you slept with? How dare you protect that bastard?"

Zacharias hated that Yvonne wouldn't tell him who the bastard's father was.

Yvonne was protecting Brady closely. They both looked like beasts that would attack at any moment.

Yvonne's silence stoked Zacharias' anger further. "Take them both back!"

"Von! Brady!" Caleb darted ahead in an attempt to stop the abduction, but a bodyguard knocked him out.

"Caleb!" Yvonne cried and screamed. She tried to go to Caleb, but Zacharias' men stuffed her into the car.

Zacharias was right. They were powerless against people of status. In this lifetime, they would be trampled upon and humiliated by the powerful and influential.

Eventually, the car came to a stop before the Gunthers' villa. Yvonne held Brady tightly, glaring at Zacharias with wariness. "What do you want?"

"You're not going anywhere this month. Stay here and rest up. After that, you're giving Lara your kidney." Zacharias got out of the car and swung his hand that was bitten by Brady. "Filthy little bastard."

The driver got out of the car and whispered, "Sir, don't you think the boy looks like one of your family?"

Zacharias paused, and then looked back at the boy who refused to get out of the car. He did see some similarities between him and the family, but then his face fell. Icily, he said, "You talk too much."

Zacharias was sure he had never slept with Yvonne. When he dated her, he treasured her. He vowed to not sleep with her until they were married. However, she couldn't hold it in and slept with someone else.

"Get out." The nanny tried to get Brady out of the car, but the boy remained in the vehicle, refusing to step out.

Losing patience, the nanny tried to hit the boy, but Brady bit her. "You bit me? You little bastard!" She picked up a broom and was about to hit the boy.

Without thinking, Yvonne held Brady in her embrace, and the broom hit her back. It was painful, but she was used to it.

"What's the commotion?" A man was standing on the balcony of the second floor.

In fear, the nanny turned around and apologized profusely, "Mr. Christopher, I'm so sorry for disturbing your rest."

Christopher frowned and looked at Zacharias.

"Christopher? You're back?" Zacharias felt his heart squeeze.

'Christopher never comes to this place, so why is he here today?' he wondered.

"Why? Can't I come here?" Christopher asked coldly.

Zacharias hung his head low. "I didn't mean that."

The whole city knew not everyone was worthy of knowing the Gunthers, and the whole Gunther Family relied on Christopher. No matter power or background, Christopher was someone they had to look up to.

In the car, Yvonne’s hands holding her child froze for a moment. She thought that voice sounded familiar.
