"Mommy, my drawing got first place. I drew you, me, and uncle."

"Mommy, they want to know why I don't have a daddy."

"Mommy, when can you come home?"

Caleb told her that Brady was smart. He was mature far beyond his age, and sometimes, Caleb felt sorry for the boy.

"Don't cry, Mommy. You have me." Brady was snug in his mother's arms. He was just a child, and he needed security and his mother's love.

Yvonne held him. She just so happened to raise her head and saw her reflection in the mirror. Her face was pallid, her body was gaunt, and her lips were white. She almost looked like she would die at any given moment.
