Chapter 3: The Beginning of a New Life

"I'm sorry Olivia, but you are pregnant, I can't possibly continue this interview, you don't know who will be your boss, I think you should think about it again," Joe said, he was someone who interviewed me, this morning I woke up late and I forgot to use my blocker to cover my scent, of course as Alpha he could immediately know the condition of my pregnancy.

"But sir, I need this job, I can cover my scent with a blocker and make sure everything will be fine, I won't disappoint him," I said.

“No, it's very risky for you, and what if your stomach gets bigger? Of course, this is very dangerous. Where is your Alpha? He shouldn't have let you do this,” Joe said.

"Forget it, thank you, sir," I said and left the room while lowering my head, I saw many girls applying for work there, they looked very beautiful and they were single because I didn't see any marks on their necks, lucky them.

I stood in front of the elevator waiting for the door to open in front of me, I was still focused on my heals when I heard the sound of the elevator opening and someone came out of it, standing in front of me and I could see how luxurious his shoes were, like what Hunter had worn before.

My head immediately lifted to see his face and I was quite stunned when I felt his different aura, I could confirm that he was the boss, he was the owner of this big company, his face was very cold but didn't look arrogant, he just looked at me as if he knew who I was.

"Who are you? I've never seen you here," the Alpha said, his voice a little deeper than Hunter's, I'm sure many Omegas would fall in love with that voice but he's not my type at all.

"I... I'm Olivia, I'm here to apply for a job as your assistant," I said, maybe I was too confident if I thought he was the boss.

“My assistant?” The Alpha said.

Damn it!!! Looks like I made a mistake!

“Oh I mean—”

“Where is your Alpha?” The Alpha said.

“He's at home, sick,” I said, of course I had to lie, I didn't want him to underestimate me like Joe.

"Sick? But you're still standing very well here, and where are the rest of your pack? He shouldn't have left you here in this condition," the Alpha said.

"Please, at least give me a chance to prove my skills, I will do whatever you tell me, I need this job," I said and he just looked at me without giving any expression, I felt like I was embarrassing myself but I needed this job because it would be difficult look for another job with conditions like this.

Without answering my words, he just passed me and I could see another man following him with a bag and coat in his hand, the man seemed to be giving me a sign to wait there so I followed his directions.

I sat back in the waiting room, I could see the Alpha room at the end of the hall, the door looked very luxurious with a fingerprint, which meant not just anyone could go in there.

“Excuse me, did you come to apply for a job too?” A woman approached me and sat next to me, she seemed to be a Beta.

"Yeah, what about you?" I said.

“Me too, but it seems like I failed,” She said.

“Why do you say that? Has Joe told you the results?” I said.

“Not yet, but he doesn't seem interested in my work experience, how do you get on? But wait, your neck, Where's your Alpha? Will he allow you to work?” She said and I just rolled my eyes, this was the third time that question had sounded in my ears.

"He-"

“Olivia?” A man called me, finally I was relieved because I no longer had to lie about my Alpha.

"Yes, that's me," I approached the man.

"Come with me," The man said and he took me to the room, yes the Alpha's room, of course, I became nervous even though I looked forward to the job.

"Wait," I held him back before he opened the door.

"What is it?" The man said.

“Why did you bring me here? I believe this is your boss's room,” I said.

"He's my older brother but yes he's my boss here, and you need a job because your Alpha is sick, right? So come in,” The man said.

"Wait, wait," I held his hand again.

"What?" The man said.

"What will he do? I mean, I'm not ready for what questions he's going to ask me," I said.

"Easy, he's not that scary, his face is really cold, but he's good, so come on, don't make him wait long, he already canceled the meeting because I asked him to talk to you," the man said and opened the door in front of us.

I can't lie when I saw that magnificent room, I can say that whoever he is, he seems to have power equal to or even greater than Hunter. I could even feel that the atmosphere of the room was very different from other rooms.

The Alpha was sitting in his chair, busy with the files in front of him when I approached him, I felt awkward being there, because I didn't know what he wanted to say.

"I'll leave you here, it's okay, if you need anything, my room is right next to this room," the man said and he immediately left, leaving me who had not had time to stop him from staying there with me.

I'm sure he knew I was there, but why didn't he say anything to me? He was just busy with the files in front of him without caring about my presence there, I also don't know why I had to be in his room, I should have been there to hear the good results, but I don't think I would get that answer.

"I-"

“Why do you want to work with me? I'm sure you didn't know who I was before," The Alpha said, he raised his head and looked at me with his sharp eyes.

"To be honest, I don't know who you are, but I know you're not an ordinary Alpha, I can feel your aura which is quite strong, and my purpose in working here is because I need this job," I said.

“You need this job? What do you mean? Did your Alpha ditch you?” The Alpha said.

"What?" I, who was shocked by the question, just kept quiet, I looked at the table to find out what the man's name was and I found it.

"I don't want to get in trouble with the other packs if they find out you're here, your reasons for wanting to work here don't make sense if you—"

"I'm sorry Mr. Darren, but I don't think you need to worry about that, no one will get into trouble, but if you feel afraid of facing risks that means I was wrong to come here, you know my condition and that's the reason why I need this job, excuse me," I said and turned my body ready to leave but my steps stopped when I heard his words.

“Come tomorrow, make sure you wear blockers,” Darren said and I couldn't hide my smile at that moment, but I couldn't look that easy, I turned around and bowed to him.

“Thank you, Mr. Darren, I will show you my best," I said and immediately left his room.
