Amelia’s POV
Emma arrives a little after 6pm. I texted her to come dressed for the party, since I now had an employee. When she came, I introduced them and got ready for the party in my kitchen. By the time I came out, Emma and Cara were bonding. That’s how it is with Emma, she’s a free and happy soul, once she’s invited she lights up the whole room.
“Ahem. Can we go now?” I ask, startling them but getting their attention.
“This dress is beautiful Ame.” Cara said, smiling.
“Thank you Cara. you can lock up once it’s 7 and please be here on time tomorrow, okay?”
“Yes ma’am.” she replied, taking the stance of a military officer. We all laugh.
We leave the shop, but the road is quite busy with cars and people making their way to Hughs Wine for the party. We go in and immediately see Charlie.
“The chocolate princess and her best friend. Welcome.” She said, and kissed our cheeks.
“Thank you Charlie, you look good.” Emma responds.
I should leave them to talk, “I'll go grab a drink. Anyone need anything?” I ask.
“I’m good.” they say, at the same time.
“Okay. And Charlie, don’t forget to tag my shop’s i*******m with the dessert photos, please.” I tell her, and excuse myself.
I’ve never gone beyond their meeting hall before, and the party is happening at the entrance, so I find a way to go in without being noticed. We must have arrived after the ribbon cutting, because everyone is talking about the speech Stan gave. His parents must be proud. With the way the place is built, the winery itself must be underground. Brilliant, if I say so myself.
I keep walking, hoping to find the stairs or elevator that leads to the wine press. Then I saw a door open from the end of the hall, and Stan walked out of it. Running would mean I was doing something bad which I wasn’t, so I stayed put, then he saw me.
Stan’s POV
I saw her leave without noticing me. Good, I’ll just talk to her during the party then. At exactly 6, we were all outside the entrance door to cut open the ribbon and step in. Whoever thought of this surely has no idea we’ve been working here for two weeks already.
My dad welcomes and thanks everyone for coming to open the new winery with us and officially names me the CEO for the winery and everyone says their hearty congratulations which almost sounded like it was said in unison.
I take over from my dad and start to read my speech before the ribbon is cut, “Thank you all for coming out to celebrate with us and also shop from the New York branch. Just like the Chicago branch, we are open to collaborate with hotels and restaurants. In addition to that, we’ll also be collaborating with wine stores. New York has so many.” Everyone laughs and I continue, “I hope that we keep the good name of Hughs wne forever in the mouth of every New Yorker. Thank you.” Everyone claps and cheers.
Someone from the crowd brings the scissors forward, and I hand it to my mom to cut the ribbon. Once the door opens, I let the guests know where to get food and drinks and head straight to the wine press with dad. I spent about 30 minutes showing him everything we do and all the formulas we use. When he gets satisfied with everything I’ve shown him, he leaves, but I spend 10 more minutes looking around and making sure every employee was at the party too. Once that was confirmed, I headed up and shut the door behind me, looking forward, I saw her. What was she doing all the way out here?
“Looking for the restroom?” I ask.
“Yes please. How did you know?” Does she always answer questions with questions though?
“You’re in the wrong place then. You can use the one in my office if you don’t mind.”
“Where’s your office?”
“Just behind you on the right.”
She heads for my office but stops after attempting to open the door, “It’s locked.”
“Here’s the key card. I’ll be sitting in my office waiting for you.” I tell her after opening the door.
We both go in, and I point her in the direction of my restroom. She enters, and I start thinking of ways to make my suggestions to her so it doesn’t look like I’m imposing as Gerald said.
When she comes out, I notice her dress for the first time. She is beautiful, in a breathtaking way. How did I not notice this before now?
“Thank you for letting me use your restroom.”
“Anytime.”
She’s about to leave when I ask, “Can I talk to you for a minute?”
“Sure, what about?”
“I’ll need you to sit down for this please.”
She comes over to my table and slides into the seat. “Sittin, go on.”
“Uhm, I don’t want to sound like a douche at all. I just really think you should add more variety of pastries to your chocolate cakes and cookies. I know everyone probably already knows you for the chocolate from the business name and all, but I really think variety should be the spice of your shop. Also, if you can add coffee that would be great.”
“Thank you. I’ll think about it. What made you think of it?”
“Let’s say, I don’t want to go too far to get these things when I can easily come out of my office to get them.”
She laughs. “Interesting. Makes a lot of sense. Thank you.”
“Let’s head back down to my party, shall we?”
“Sure.” She stands up and I grab a bag under my table.
“Here’s the wine I promised. Also, sorry if I came off as rude the first time we met, we just have very strict policies at the winery and I didn't know who you were.”
“That’s fine. Thanks for the wine, I’ll leave a review after drinking.”
We both laugh and head back to the party. She escapes into the night, so I look for Gerald to let him know how the discussion went. He’s dancing with a guest.
“Excuse me, can I steal him away for a moment?” I ask the lady with my charming smile.
“Sure.”
He whispers something to her and she giggles.
“What was that?” I ask him.
“My lady for the night.” He smirks.
“Just wanted to let you know, I talked with Amelia and she was cool with it. She said and I quote, ‘I’ll think about it. Thank you.’ I’m glad I talked to her.”
“Oh good for you man. You should probably find someone to warm your bed tonight. How long has it been?”
“Long enough to not be your business. Just go back to your lady.”
He laughs as he leaves, and he was right. I need someone to warm my bed tonight, so I go around looking for someone that is my type. Once I found her, I left the party with her and headed straight for the hotel.
Thank you all for sticking with me till chapter 9! I want to apologize for any grammatical errors in previous chapters. I'm making sure the grammar is correctly used in subsequent chapters. love you :-)
Stan’s POV We got to my room before I found out her name. Lina. I probably won’t remember it in the morning, but I need to know it now so I don’t moan out another person’s name. “Didn’t think you'd approach me tonight.” She started, probably wanting to know more about why I approached her. New York chics definitely like to know their men. “You’re my type.” “I’ll assume your type is slender, brown hair, perky boobs, round ass, kissable lips and fuckable cunt.” “Nailed it. And you my dear Lina, have them all. Couldn’t let those pass me by tonight.” “Do you like to go gentle or rough?” “I can’t promise to be gentle for long Lina.” “Good, I like it rough. I’ll just take a quick shower to get this sweat out and I’ll join you in bed.” “Take your time.” I smile as she walks into the bathroom. I haven’t had any woman over since I moved here, and I’m not trying to start anything serious with any woman, but Lina looks like the kind of woman I can keep around for a while, or it’s just
Amelia’s POVIt was a bright Sunday morning in July, and I made plans to surprise Mike in his apartment which was three streets away from mine. Every summer since we started dating five years ago, was spent travelling, exploring new cities and food, having mindblowing sex and meeting new people to expand mike’s crazy business ideas. This year, one of his ideas kicked off into an actual plan so we could not travel anywhere for summer as he was working. I decided to surprise him by coming to his house Sunday morning to transform it into the city we planned to visit, and store some of their local cuisines which I got from some restaurants downtown in his refrigerator. And they were hard to order from because it was summer and some people apparently love trying new food in summer. His building looked the same, tall, classy and intimidating in the choicest part of the city with Tom, the doorman who has been there for over 10 years and was friendly to everyone going in or coming out of the
Amelia’s POVI tried my best to avoid crying on the ride home. I just looked out of the window and thought about the past five years, how Mike was the first long relationship I had and how all the vacations we took every summer made me love him more. I also wondered if he didn’t want to go on this vacation with me because of Kate or was it Kat? The tears were rushing down now and thankfully the driver was pulling up in front of my small apartment. It was nothing fancy like Mike's, but it was mine and I was going to get on my bed and cry for my life. I got down from the cab and spot my corolla with the stupid photo sticker of me and mike on the boot entrance. I walked to the car and tore the sticker out and cussed at everything I could think of. Why was Mike breaking up with me now? How many people have their lives figured out after three years of graduating college? I was going to answer those questions after I ate some Italian food. Stan’s POVGetting to the bar, I'm greeted by two hot chics that take me to the bar stand for drinks. Who am I to decline such a delicious offer? I follow them right in with my hands on both their waists. After getting drinks, they pull me up to the dance floor and we dance till we are tired and I invite them to spend the night over at my apartment. Thankfully, I didn’t have too much to drink, so I tip the bartender and the valet and drive out of the bar’s garage with two hot chics to my apartment which was 10 blocks away. This time I ask for their names and try to remember and not mix them up. Alice and Yvonne, Alice is the one with blue eyes like ice and Yvonne has brown eyes, i say repeatedly in my head on the way up to my floor. Once we get into my apartment, the action begins. Seeing that Alice and Yvonne are very experienced, I let them do what they planned to do. They take off their dresses and take turns undressing me. It’s Tuesday, the day I go out to the city to look for a space for my pastry shop. I got ready just in time for the realtor I saw online last night to call.“Amelia? Hi, this is Josh Brown. The realtor from last night.” “Oh hi, this is Amelia. Yes.”“Good. I have three spaces to show you today, if you can come to the address I just texted you in fifteen minutes.”“On my way. Thank you.”I end the call and check my text for the address and put it on my map as i go out to my car.“First day of the rest of Amelia 2.0,” I said to the steering wheel as I adjusted my car seat.I text Emma the address for the space and the realtor's address and phone number for cautionary purposes, then hit the road. I get there in ten minutes and Josh is already there waiting.“Nice to meet you Josh, sorry I kept you waiting.”“It’s okay. Ready to check the space now?’ he asks, and I nod in excitement. We proceed to check the space, this one isn’t like I envisioned it. I take some pictures and ask him the
Amelia’s POVOne month later, the pastry business is up and running. I gave it a homely feel, thanks to Pinterest for the ideas and I took Emma’s advice to put the business on Instagram. Running the business alone has not been easy, and I plan to employ an extra hand once I pay dad back, which is soon. The wine company opposite me is planning their opening party, and I was contracted to handle their dessert by their HR person, Charlie. Charlie is a regular at the store, so she must have convinced them to use my cakes as their dessert. I was invited to the winery to see their budget and make arrangements on where the dessert would be placed. This contract would help boost my social media and on site business, because the winery is a famous one with a large number of followers. Their budget was huge for a 300 person party, but it would help me pay my dad back and have some change to put back in the business, so I took it and tried to hide the joy on my face. I brought some sample cakes
Amelia’s POV After leaving the winery, I head over to my shop on the other side of the road. I sent a text to inform Emma of the progress of the contract when I sat down behind the counter. “Hey, the meeting went okay. But i need an extra hand :-)” Her text comes in almost immediately, “I’ll be there after work. When’s the event again?” “In two days.” After replying to her, I call my suppliers from the farmer’s market for everything I’ll be needing. The items I ordered arrived before Emma, so I started setting them up in my storage. By the time I was done setting up, Emma came in. “You better get an extra hand soon, or pay me to work for you.” she teased as she walked in to meet me. “You’ll always be my first employee.” I say, hugging her. When I pulled out of the hug, I saw Charlie walking over to the shop. “Hi again, Amelia. Hello miss?” Charlie greeted as she walked in. “Emma. Emma is just fine.” “Charlie, this is my best friend, Emma. Em, this is Charlie. She works in t

Stan’s POV I’m in my office going over some documents, when Gerald walks in. “Busy?” He asks. “Not really, just going over some things.” “Charlie was helpful by the way. I like it here already.” “You have to, unless all my efforts to want you here would be in vain.” We both laugh. We went over some plans for the opening party and I was getting hungry, so I asked Gerald to come with me to lunch. We head out, since this is not a typical office with lunch rooms. “When will your car get here?” Gerald asked on our way to the restaurant. “I’m thinking next week. I miss that guy.” The rest of the drive was quiet, we got to the restaurant, ate and headed back to the winery. We stopped for a second and I looked across and noticed that I've never noticed the chocolate shop all the while I've been coming in. I tell the driver to hold on for a bit. “Gerald, have you noticed this shop across?” I ask. “Obviously since it's the only building I see from my office.” “I didn't notice it unti
