A few months had passed since I left Vito’s house but he still didn’t give up on asking me to go back. He claimed he had taken care of his rivals and they were no longer a threat but I still wasn’t convinced to move in with him.

It was a tough decision and it made me sad every day. I never imagined staying away from him but I had to do it to protect myself and my loved ones.

We didn’t officially break up, I still met with him sometimes but he was always begging me to move back to his house.

I started hanging out with some tech friends so I could find myself a good-paying legal job. Life was going smoothly even though I was lonely at times. My relationship with my mother was also getting better.

That day, I was at the mall when Vito requested to see me. I told him my location and he came to where I was. I finished shopping for some groceries and went outside to meet him.

I put my shopping bags in the trunk of my car and went to his car.
