Chapter 1: Leaving Home

"You know, I still don't get why you're leaving my dear, what are you gonna do in San Fransisco, you have a wonderful job here, everyone loves you here, an-"

"Gramps I promised"

"That was 14 years ago sweetie, just give up on this childish dream"

"Give up? grandpa, I have been waiting 14 years for this day to come, and a promise is a promise, no matter when or where you make it, besides I have been accepted in a flight school there in San Fransisco"

Peter Miller signed at his grandaughter's stubbornness 

"There is no winning with you is there?"

"Nope," said Antonia cheerfully 

Flight to San Fransisco is now boarding

"Well there is my flight, goodbye gramps, I will miss you, and if anything happens, remember I am just a phone call away"

said Antonia hugging hr grandfather

"Take care, my child"

Antonia, POV

Hello readers, I am Antonia Miller, I am 23 years old, and I am from Vermont you know the one with the most beautiful green mountains, skiing, Ben & Jerry's, dairy farms, and all that, yeah I am from there, and today is the day that I leave Vermont and move to San Fransisco it's really hard and painful to leave the place where you were born and raised in. Ever since I was a kid I had 2 dreams, one, I always wanted to become a pilot and two, find my childhood love, my parents died in a car accident when I was three, after that my grandfather took me in and raised me the best he could

Now I will be leaving to pursue my dream to become a pilot and meet my childhood love, even though I haven't seen him for 14 years now. 

I just hope that he will keep the promise he made 14 years ago

And this reader is just the beginning of my story

-in the airplane-

Toni took out the picture she and her childhood sweetheart took after they parted ways 14 years ago

-Antoni's flashback-

"Say cheese"

"Cheese"

The camera in the boy's hand made a click sound.

"Hey, what do you say we meet up when we grow up?"

"When exactly?"

"hmmm maybe in 14 years?"

" 14 YEARS?!?!??"

"Yeah because by then we will become adults, lets meet up then"

"where?"

"uhh in a park called The Presidio in San Francisco"

"hmmm ok then, I can't wait" laughed, Toni

"And then I will propose to you, I promise," said the boy

"What? why?" said Antonia surprised

"What? Don't you want to become my wife?"

"hmm alright we will meet in 14 years in San Fransisco and get married, that's a promise," said Antoni happily

"Yay" shouted the boy 

-Flashback ended-

"Hey Stephen, how are you doing? I hope you are doing well," said Antonia to the picture she was holding

"Aww they are adorable," said an old lady sitting next to her 

"oh thanks"

"Seems likes he takes after his father"

"His father?" said Toni confused

"Yeah, he doesn't look like you at all"

"oh no you got it all wrong ma'am he isn't my son"

"oh? Then who is he?"

"Well, hopefully, my future husband"

"My dear how can you marry a-"

"OH NO NONO you got it all wrong, look, this photo has been taken more than a decade ago, right now he grew up, and hopefully we'll get married............that is if he keeps his promise"

"Oh is that so? But why would he propose to you?"

"And at that young age," said another woman sitting next to the old lady, it seemed like she overheard their conversation.

"I will tell you why its because 14 years ago I saved his life"

-Flashback-

Two boys were playing around a lake and while one boy was chasing a frog the other one, out of nowhere jumped into the lake,

the boy who was chasing the frog was terrified he couldn't swim to save his friend so he started to shout for help all of a sudden a girl jumped into the lake and swum the boy to the land while the other boy was watching from afar

-Flashback ended-

"And that's how ladies and gentlemen I saved the love of my life," said Toni to all the people in the plane that took interest in the story and listened to her

"So you believed him and waited all these years?" said a random woman

"Yes" responded Toni, the woman looked at her strangely

"My child 14 years ago is a very long time, who these days wait for someone that long," said the old lady next to her

"Ma'am, there are times that waiting for something or patience is the most beautiful thing, besides what is there to life without patience, and imagination?"

"You are such an optimistic and lovely girl, I hope that boy keeps his promise," said the old lady smiling

"And they do say that waiting is a sign of true love and patience, anyone can say 'i love you but not everyone can wait and prove it's true," said a middle-aged man in another row"

"Thank you, both you ma'am and you sir," said Toni happily and looked back at the picture in her hand 

"We will reunite soon, wait for me Stephen"

At the exact moment, a guy woke up in a flash looking horrified them signed in relief and told himself 

"oh thank god, that was just a nightmare" and went back to sleep

"Stephen it's 7:25 wake up son," says Daniel entering his son's room

"Dad there is 5 more minutes for 7;30 let me sleep these 5 minutes"

"No, because I know you will ask for '5 more minutes and then you will end up being late for your job interview," said Daniel puling the blanket on the Stephen

"Daaaaaaaaad" whined Steph

"What?"

".........you know I remember the times you would wake me up to go to school, I honestly feel like I am going back to school," said Stephen still lying on his bed

"We don't have time for this, wake up now," said Daniel yanking him out of the bed, and nearly losing his patience

"Alright, alright"
