Chapter 6
“How’s it going Bill?” I handed my personal valet my car keys and he just bowed a bit to show respect.
“Wonderful, Sir. I hope you have a great day.” He said as I made my way inside the building. I have meetings until 12 and some suppliers to meet after lunch so I really have a day ahead of me. A great day indeed—not.
Ms. Mitch, from the front desk greeted me with a smile and I waved at her before riding the elevator up to my office—surprisingly, Ram, my secretary came rushing to me as soon as I stepped out. He’s avoiding my eyes so and I poked the inside of my cheeks. Something is up and I hate not knowing what it is.
“Okay what’s got your panties in a bunch?” I asked with narrowed eyes. Ram just fidgeted uncomfortable before he finally answered.
“Sir, Master Beelzebub is here, he’s waiting at your office.” Ram—which is also ironically, a Ram in his demon form had been my assistant for like years and had been helping me with menial office task.
Ram is a gift, yes, a gift—as he was sent to me by one of the big shots in Hell who apparently took a liking on me when Leviathan bought me there for the first time—enough liking to the point that he adopted me.
“That’s surprising. Is Leviathan here?” I asked, actually taking smaller strides now. I don’t really like the idea of any hell hot shots coming into my office for a visit—heck, I don’t even like the idea of any demon coming here with the exception of those I know and trust which is within my count.
Trust me, I don’t like demons too. Heck I don’t even like myself when I’m a demon.
“No sir—I can’t seem to contact him.”
I groaned in exasperation before throwing the door open, revealing a man, tall and buff—yep, beefier than me, sitting on my white leather sofa in his expensive looking navy blue pinstripe suit.
Beelzebub. The man oozes power even by just sitting there and it’s making me cringe. Just what the hell is he doing here again? Did he had an appointment?
“I can handle it from here, thank you.” I said to my secretary and he nodded, leaving me alone with big guy in the room.
“Crocell.” Beel greeted.
“Please, call me Trent.” I smiled a casual smile to not offend him.
“I prefer to call you by your demon name instead of that name your human mother came up—besides, Crocell is a great name.” He pointed out and I just gritted my teeth at that.
“Do you want anything to drink?” I asked, avoiding any confrontation of why he’s here because I have an idea on why and I don’t like it.
“Whiskey on the rocks.” He simply said and leaned back. I easily conjured a glass with some ice before reaching from the shelf by the bar behind me for some whiskey. “I hope you know why I am here, Crocell.”
“Is my rent up in hell? Man, I swear I paid that off.” I handed him the glass and he just narrowed his eyes at me.
“I do not want you to get smart at me—if you have time making snarky comments, then you have time to come to hell and do what you are destined to do.” Beelzebub snarled and I winced. As much as possible, Leviathan told me not to piss him off—or any rulers in hell. Funny how I can infuriate him just fine.
Jesus H. Christ, I’ll have my ass handed to me if I even tried to get any of them angry—which is the last thing I should do seeing how I am still in contract with Leviathan as we haven’t found my Ashley yet, rendering the contract we did years ago, as incomplete.
“Who is this young lad you had bought here, Leviathan?” I was only ten years old when I first met the ruler of hell, Lucifer. I was also a freshly turned demon by then when Leviathan bought me to hell and presented me to the council that holds the hierarchy and order in this realm.
“He is a Trent, your highness. I found him lurking on the mortal realm.” Leviathan said while he kneeled with his head down.
“I am not lurking—I live there.” I said, pushing my nerves down and facing the rulers who seemed amused as they raised a brow.
“Interesting.” A red haired male said, Asmodeus as I later on learned, said and walked towards me with a grace of a panther—he’s incredible charismatic and… well… erotic.
“What is this commotion about?” Beelzebub walked into the room and I distinctly remember his laying his eyes on mine and I could feel something off about him.
“Leviathan bought someone living in mortal realm.” Mammon said and leaned back on his chair while the others just watched Beelzebub grabbed my chin and inspecting me like how a buyer would.
“How old are you boy?” He asked and I just quietly answered in fear.
“Ten, sir.”
“Very well—you are now named Crocell. You will stay and nurture your powers here for two years and come looking for me—I will make you my heir.” Beelzebub just said and I remember everyone’s faces just paling.
Well, I did train in hell until I was 12, by then I was in my teenager form entering adulthood and Lev still supervised me and after that, I went back to the mortal realm and avoided Beelzebub—like a plague.
“Your highness, really—I told you already, I am not interested in any position in hell—I don’t understand. Why does it have to be me? I’m a turned demon, not a born one. My abilities and powers are far inferior compared to other demons.” I reasoned out.
He had been coming here a lot lately, especially from what I heard that the King is looking for a powerful right hand to rule hell with him. Apparently, I also heard that Lucifer has been having an affair with the neighbor underworld god going by the name of Hades.
“There is nothing you can do—I have chosen you to succeed me, Crocell. Declining isn’t an option and that only makes me angry. I will not stop tormenting you to take the position if that’s what you are expecting from this talk.” He sighed and just looked at me—excuse me, glared at me—oh wait, that’s just his normal look.
“Look, sir, I don’t really know about this but give me some time to think it over.” I said to appease him and that seemed to work wonders. Of course, I am nothing but a demon as I wouldn’t really going to accept his offer but I have a few more years before he flat out just gut me for deceiving and disobeying him.
“I will come back here again, Crocell.” Beelzebub just stood up and looked at me with his eerily green shaded irises. “And don’t make the mistake of angering me ‘cause I will find that human you obsess about and drag him to hell just so I could make you come back to where you belong.” He threatened and I went still.
“Of course.” I said in gritted teeth. He left immediately and all I did was sit on my chair, seething while thinking hard.
I need to find my missing Ashley as soon as possible.
Chapter 7“You seem to be a bit distracted.” Leviathan commented as he sat down beside after the meeting had been concluded, looking straight ahead as he prepared his stuff for departure. Apparently, the idiot is also an investor of the company we are having a meeting today. “Is it about Beel dropping by?”I clicked my tongue and Lev immediately raised a brow, he already know I really hate Beelzebub’s visit as it is mostly him nagging me about my position in hell. “The bastard had given me an ultimatum.” I said, turning to him with a serious façade. “Which means you need to get your shit together and fulfill your part of the agreement already.”Leviathan’s face immediately darkened and he looked away. “You know why we can’t reach out to him already. What you&r
Chapter 8“Not that fun to make fun of now, is it?”The minx.I have to up my game.Instead of pushing him away, I pulled his waist towards mine with a smile. “Of course darling, I was just teasing.” I said with a small chuckle and Ashley looked like he’s about to lose it and murder me instead.“Now, now, I need to introduce you to everybody—everyone, this is my wife—sorry, my husband, Ashley.” I announced and we received a warm applause and maybe some side glances that totally spelled either confusion, suspicion or plain jealousy. I know, I’m one hot piece, damn.Ashley elbowed me with a glare and I led him down to the elevator so we can go back up to my office—he said lunch so I’m gonna have
Chapter 9“I will gut you if I can.” Ashley said with a blank stare and I burst out laughing before hugging him from behind as he began walking to the room.“If I wasn’t busy, I’d totally date you.” I whispered in his ear, earning a shudder. Well, Ashley is gorgeous. I’d give him that and yes, I mean what I said. I would totally date the guy if things were a bit different. If he is my Ashley—I wouldn’t hesitate. But he isn’t my Ashley and my heart still belongs to the boy that saved me twenty years ago.I wouldn’t do that to this Ashley—I wouldn’t live to hurt him if he learns that I am after a person that shares the same name as him. I may be a demon but I know what pain is.“Trent, stop.” He said in a small voice. “W
Chapter 10 “Stop smiling. It’s creepy.” Lev nudged me as we get inside the jet making me frown at him.“What’s wrong with my smile? Last time I checked girls and guys alike are falling like flies for this smile.” Lev just looked at me with a drool face and I raised a brow and nodded at the flight attendant as we get inside the plane.Damn, being rich really does creep me out sometimes—people are like too kind when you got money. You can’t really trust anyone.“Man—I really don’t get why Beel is so hell bent on getting you a position as his heir. You’re just a cocky brat. And I already said stop smiling—it’s creepy!”“Hey!” I glared, offended. “I am fucking smart and awesome—t
Chapter 11Ashley’s POV“Fuck.” I curse under my breath as I struggle walking down the stairs. My head hurts and the pills doesn’t seem to help my case. It’s been a day since Trent had left for his business trip and I am really grateful for the timing—and maybe a bit worried too. I am alone in the house for two days—and two nights, since he’s planning to come home in the morning.I have not been feeling well since the time I fell down while cooking. I think it’s the universe way of telling me that my time is almost up.Man, being in a dying meat suit sucks. I haven’t even gotten to writing everything in my bucket list. With that thought clouding my mind, I sat down and looked
Chapter 12“Anyway, how was living with your pig of a house mate?”“I told you already, Trent is a good house mate—a bit disorganized and messy but he’s a good person. He’s been nothing but a sweetheart, Phil. One day I’ll let you come over while he’s around.” I said and the man just shrugged, running his hand all over his blonde locks.“Well, tell me if he’s bothering you.” Phil made a turn and headed for the highway with a small frown adorning his otherwise handsome face—not as handsome as the person I’m living with though, but you could say damn well that this guy is really good looking. “You should’ve just stayed with me, that way I can keep an eye on you and you get to live rent free.”“You know I can&
Chapter 13(Trent and Ashley—age 7.)“You got a boo-boo again.” Ashley said while inspecting the cut in his best friend’s face. It’s a common occurrence for the both of them come morning when they can play again in the day care center. As common as it is, it simply doesn’t make it okay—no matter how often it happens. His best friend doesn’t deserve it. “Did your ‘Da do this again?”“You know it’s always my Dad—I’m okay Ashey. Look, I got apples from mom again!” Trent cheerfully showed his lunch bag with apples, some pop tarts and a juice box.
Chapter 14What we see inside surprised us.Instead of the person we are expecting to see—either Ashley or that high ranking charge of his, we saw angels in their human forms. Three pretty low ranking angels inside the room.I am not disappointed. I thought to myself.Bullshit. I am definitely disappointed. We seem to have caught them off guard as they looked at us with worried wide eyes. Leviathan and I are pretty surprised too but if push comes to shove, I know we can both protect ourselves and dispose of these angels.“Who the fuck are you and why are you here?” Leviathan asked, crossing his arms, making him look more intimidating than usual—I could smell the angels’ fear reeking out of
