CHAPTER 7

A man in a black suit walked into his office. He smirked playfully to the guy he just met earlier in the elevator. He doesn't seem remember him even a bit. He chuckled softly from disbelief.

"They're definitely twins," he said. He opened the door of the chairman's office. Vernon was doing paperworks when he glanced at him. Tinanguan nya ito bilang pagsang ayon na pumasok.Lumapit ang lalake sa chairman at yumuko bilang paggalang.

" I'm done with the work," he said while still in bow position.

“Well done." Vernon glanced at him with amusement in his eyes. His almon chestnut eyes twinkled from his news. His thick re lips formed a wicked smile.

"There's another job for you," he said. The man just looked at him waiting for his order. The perfect and proud tan skin along with muscular body type and brown fringe up hair combined with his squared jawline and a pair of deep-set blue eyes, roman nose, and thick rosy lips. He looked like a foreign heartthrob even though he was already 36.

"You met my son earlier, right?" Vernon asked. Tumango lamang ang lalake bilang pag sang ayon.

" Follow him," he said. Inilagay nya ang kanyang kamay sa baba. Tumango ang lalake at agad na naglakad palayo. Vernon sensed something odd on his son. He won't allow any hindrance in his succession. Any objections in his product should be burn in flame.

"Axel," he called the man before leaving. Axel stopped from moving and looked at Vernon.

"Yes,sir?" Humarap ito nang tuwid sa kanya. He met the cold and lifeless eyes of Vernon as if he was planning murderous.

"Kill everyone that would hindrance my son’s job." His serious deep tone lingered in every nerve of Axel. He nodded then continued to walk away. Vernon smiled mischievously. He knew that his son was doing something against in his will. His boys were having a war against to each other. Pinaikot nya ang kanyang ballpen habang nakatingin sa pintuan.

"I'm watching,boys.”

Nathan parked his car in the parking lot of the hospital. He grabbed the flower for Xabrina and walked out of his car. He walked to the elevator and press the 12th floor where Xabrina was located.

Hindi pa rin maalis sa kanyang isipan ang mga nakita nya. He can't think of anything on what happened to her and to her husband after that scene. Nawala sila nang parang bula. She looked so nervous as if someone was following her and wanted to kill her. Alam nyang hindi naman sya namamalikta dahil nabangga nya pa ito at kitang kita ng dalawa nyang mata ang itsura nito.

He was thinking deeply and didn't realize that he was already in his destination. He sighed deeply from frustration. He unwind his thoughts and walked out of the elevator. He was already standing in front of

her door. Sumilip sya sa mga salamin nito at nakitang nakatulala ito sa bintana. Inayos nyam una ang kanyang sarili at inamoy ang bulaklak.He sighed and smiled before opening the door.

"Hi," he greeted. He showed his beautiful smile to Xabrina but she just looked at him with her bored eyes. She was not mesmerized to his presence. Agad naming bumalik ang tingin ni Xabrina sa bintana.Nathan cleared his throat from awkwardness.

"Uhm..I bought you a flower.I think it will help you to feel better." he put the daisy in the table. Xabrina didn't even looked at it and was still looking at the window. Nathan sighed deeply. The silence between them made the atmosphere awkward. Naalala nya bigla ang Auntie nito.Nag aalangan sya kung sasabihin nya ba ang tungkol sa Auntie nito. He sat at the chair in front of him and looked at her pretty face. Magsasalita na sana sya nang biglang may kumatok. It’s a police officer and a detective. They came here to interviewed Xabrina from what happened to her in that place.

"Excuse me,Ms. Xabrina Ivy Solace?" The policeman said. Pumasok sila sa kwarto ni Xabrina at tumayo sa harapan nito.

"Im Mr. Cleo Domingo,an inspector and I'm with a policeman, Mr. Merk Dela Cruz. We are here to interview you about your uncle and what happened to you in that place." The inspector and policeman pulled out their badges to assure that they're part of government.

"I'm Nathan Vil Real, please just call me Nathan." He lends his hand to shake with them.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Vil Real. Oh, are you the CEO of Vil Real company?" The inspector asked.

"Yes, I am," Nathan said then nodded.

"Uhmm.. no one notify me na may pupuntang pulis dito ngayon?" Nathan asked.

"Oh, I'm sorry Mr. Vil Real. We just sent our notice now and decided to come as possible as we can. May mga lead kasi kami about his uncle and we need her cooperation," the policeman said. Natuon naman ang atensyon ni Xabrina dito at biglang nakaramdam ng takot. Napatingin naman dito si Nathan at nag alala sa kalagayan nito.

"Uhm.. I don't think she can inter--" naputol ang sinabi ni Nathan nang magsalita si Xabrina.

"I can. I'm willing to cooperate," Xabrina said while looking desperately at them. She was trembling in fear but she needs to do it. Banggitin pa lamang ang pangalan ng uncle nya ay natatakot na sya at bumabalik lahat ng alaala nya. But this is the only way to help herself and captured his uncle.

"That's good to hear, Ms. Xabrina." Cleo assured him with his smile. Umupo ito sa harap ni Xabrina at nilabas ang papel.

"Are you sure with this,Xab?" Nathan asked worriedly. Nag aalala sya na baka may hindi mangyaring maganda rito. Xabrina just nodded without looking at him. Her eyes were full of determination in finding his uncle and gave justice to herself.

" But first, can I ask something?" Xabrina said to the two men. They just nodded.

" May nakita po ba kayong babae sa lugar na iyon? She is Klara. A nurse who saved me. Please, tell me if she's fine." Xabrina's eyes were pleading and hoping that she was fine. Nathan gulped from what she said. He can't looked at her eyes from guilty. He didn't kill the woman yet he left it wounded in that place.

Nagkatinginan ang dalawa lalaki at di mawari kung sasabihin ba nila ang totoo. Cleo cleared his throat before speaking.

" Uhm.. I'm sorry to say but..we found a dead woman wearing a hospital uniform in the empty room that we concluded na pinagtaguan sayo," Cleo said without removing his eyes to Xabrina.

Xabrina left dumbfounded. Tila nabingi sya sa sinabi ng lalake. Agad na nagsituluan ang kanyang mga luha. She was dead. The person who saved her from that misery was lifeless. Her life was spared because of Klara.

Klara cried and screamed loudly. Isiniksik nya ang sarili nya sa higaan at sinabunutan ang buhok. It was her fault. Klara died because of her. Hindi makapaniwala si Xabrina sa nangyari at patuloy na sinisisi ang sarili. Iyak lamang ito ng iyak. Her soul was shattered into pieces to the bad news she received. She was hoping that she was fine and managed to escape but she didn't. How could she think na makakatakas sya sa impyernong lugar na iyon. Her uncle was too evil. Alam na alam nya yun. Sana ay tinulungan nya ito. Sana ay binalikan nya ito. But she didn't because she was too scared.

"Xabrina..." Nathan tried to calm her down but she was kept on crying helplessly. Napayuko na lamang si Nathan at di alam ang gagawin. He felt guilty from what happened. Alam nyang kasalanan nya ito ngunit he can't talk about it. Nathan was scared to lose his chance to Xabrina. As long as he was alive, he would keep it in himself.

“Maybe you should interview her next time,”Nathan said to the officers. They just nodded and left the room.

Nathan looked at Xabrina. Nakaramdam ng awa si Nathan sa kanya. Malamang ay sinisisi nito ang sarili sa nangyari. He tried to caress her back yet she removes his hand. She doesn’t want anyone touching her.

“Leave me alone,”Xabrina said. Her tears were flowing thoroughly in her rosy cheeks. She kept on slamming the bed and puled her own hair. Pilit nyang sinasaktan ang sarili dahil sa nalaman.

Nathan holds both of her hand to stop her but she kept on insisting and moving. He used his strength to hold her cheeks and hugged her tightly while caressing her hair.

“Shhh..It’s fine. It’s not your fault, Xabrina,” Nathan said in warm voice. Patuloy lang nyang hinahawi ang buhok nito at pinapatahan. Pinaghahampas ni Xabrina ang likod nito ngunit patuloy pa rin itong nakayakap sa kanya. Her mind was clouded of pain and agony from losing another important person in her life. They didn’t know each other for a long time yet she still treats her as one of the most important person in her life for saving her from hell. But she was also killed along with her family.  Again, she was alone. Alone from this cruel world.

“What should we do now, Logan?” Oliver asked him. Logan was looking out of nowhere and thinking deeply. Nakaukit pa rin sa kanyang utak ang mga matang nakita nya ng araw na iyon. He clenched his fist. He messed with the wrong pack. He wont allow that werewolf to kill anyone again. He should die.

“Seven days from now. At full moon, we’re going to attack,”Logan said while looking at them. They can see the determination along with rage in the pair of his red eyes for killing his own pack.

“Oliver, Claude and I were going to the deep forest first to investigate and watched him. We don’t know if he has a pack or none. The only thing we knew that he has a strong presence of an Alpha but we didn’t saw him hunting with his pack. That’s why we need to investigate first,”Logan said. He was looking at his member and they were all agreed in his plan.

“The rest of you will train along with the young werewolves. Jacob, I’ll assign you to train them. You should train at the east part of the forest and avoid any conflict with other pack. We shouldn’t lose any member. That’s the last thing we should except. ”Jacob nodded. The other member agreed to their Alpha and they were thrilled to take revenge for their brothers and sisters.

It almost 10 o’clock in the evening when Logan decided to visit Xabrina. His already done with his training. He was tired from what happened all day. He needs his home. A home that he can take a rest with his mate.

He turned into a human when he was already near in the hospital. He can sense his mate and he can feel that there was something wrong with her. Agad syang tumalon at tumakbo papuntang sa bintana ng kwarto ni Xabrina. Logan was much faster and more powerful  than the other werewolf. He has an intensified quickness, agility and reflexes and endurance to run through the wall up to his destination. He smell the warm, sweet and a little bit spicy smell coming from his mate along with chemical substance since she was in hospital.

Nakaabot na sya sa kanyang destinasyon and gladly her window was opened. Sumilip sya sa bintana at nakitang mahimbing ang tulog nito. Napangiti na lamang si Logan sa nakita. Dahan dahan syang naglakad patungo sa higaan nito at tinitigan ang kanyang mukha.

A single tear left her eyes and dripped in her cheeks. She was crying. Logan felt pain in his chest. Her mate was hurting. Logan was looking at her with his dazzling red eyes. He decided to wipe her tears softly.

The warm touched of Logan waken up Xabrina. She slowly opened her eyes since she was familiar to those touches. Sumalubong sa kanya ang mga matang hindi nya makakalimutan. Those pair of red eyes watching her along with her soul making her pain go away from a split of second. Tila nawala ng parang bula ang lahat ng alaala nya tungkol sa nakaraan. She doesn’t have any idea who is the owner of this eyes but it made her trust him even more.

Nagulat naman si Logan nang makitang nagising si Xabrina. Nakaramdam sya ng kaba at hindi alam ang gagawin. He gulped and was breathing heavily. Napatulala na lamang sya sa kanyang minamahal. Her beautiful face perfectly combined with his elegant and peaceful soul. She was tortured and tormented a lot of times but she was still here fighting for her life. She was still opening her eyes every morning to fight the urges of her nightmares and traumas that hunt her every night. Her green dreamy eyes looked so sad yet full of hope that someone would save her.

Logan felt something in his body as if it was in flame. He was an inch away from her. He was fighting his urge to touched her and caress her waist. He knew she won’t accept him as her lover since he was known as a beast. But how can he manage to live alone watching her in the dark, smiling at some human that may break her heart anytime. He loses his chance before. He loses his chance to save her. The cloudless full moon was shining brightly above against the evil and treacherous darkness,fighting each other’s presence. Yet instead of fighting, they embrace each other like a lover waiting for their presence.

“W-who are you?”Xabrina asked. She was still looking at his red eyes as if she was attracted to it. She was breathing heavily and the cold air from the air touched her soul and make her felt cold. However, Logan makes her feel warm against the cold and evil nightmare.

Instead of talking, Logan caress her hair and brush it with his hand. He was humming a soft song to made her sleepy and peace. Hindi na nya alam ang dapat nyang gawin at tila natuliro sa biglang pagsasalita ni Xabrina. Her soft angel voice made his pain from losing his brothers and tiredness from training sealed away. She makes him felt home everytime.

He was abandoned by his father since he was a kid. He was living alone all this time even though he has his own pack. The feeling of having a real home was different and unique. The blissfulness of her arms wrapped around him made him live at the top of the world. The ecstasy of her presence brings him into euphoria.

Xabrina doesn’t want to close her eyes but the soft hums of him made her felt sleepy. For the first time of her 2 years life living in hell, she smiled while sleeping. Her pretty and kissable lips formed into a smile that lighten up the night. The reflection of the moon touched her face that made her more gorgeous in the eyes of Logan. A goddess was sleeping at the middle of the night along with the lonely warrior waiting for her attention and love.
