102. In my panic state.

Isla’s POV

I awoken gradually and, as I pulled my heavy eye lids open. I felt a form of panic wash over me. At first, I didn’t react in my panic state, I just laid there staring at the ceiling, then the event that happened earlier replayed in my head.

My body jolted, as coldness enveloped me, cradling me in a cocoon of fear— a sensation of heaviness descended upon me.

As my eyes scanned my surroundings , I was greeted by the sight of a canopy bed, its elegant drapes cascading down like a waterfall of fabric. It was elegant, a bed fit for a queen. I wondered why Axel had placed me here. Was this one of his plans? That was the only logical explanation to everything.

I shifted my gaze to the other side where rays from the Sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a golden glow that danced upon the walls. As I stared at that direction, the vivid display of the man Axel had shot falling to the ground caught clouded my mind. I shut my eyes, my heart pounding rapidly in my ches
