Around midday, as Caleb contemplated an excuse to visit Ember, she unexpectedly arrived to tend to his injury.

"It's time for a dressing change," she announced flatly, treating him like any other patient.

She approached him to gently remove the bandages, her focus entirely on the task despite the sunlight casting a warm glow on her face.

A ray of sunlight that entered through the window illuminated Ember's face. However, her mind was totally on the work at hand.

For a brief moment, Caleb was enamored with her attractive features. If Ember permitted it, he wished he could lean in and kiss her.

"Ouch!"

A sharp pain brought him back to the present as Ember tended to his wound.

"It's going to hurt a little, but you have to bear with it," Ember replied, her gaze fixed on the wound, addressing Caleb as if he were just another patient.
