Chapter Five

There's no rule against boss and employee romance.

Tobi's Pov 

 Waiting impatiently for Emma to report to work on her first day. I scrolled through my Instagram and found news about Kyle’s affair with another Model, probably Anna’s colleague. 

I guess this was what Jim meant when he asked earlier if I have seen the news. The door flew open and Emma came in, adjusting her skirt which was bent to the wrong direction. Her hair in a rough pony tail and her bag trapped in between her armpit. 

"Good morning sir?" she said with a small forced smile.

"Care to enlighten me on what's good about the morning ?" I asked her angrily,  Macy never reported to work 10minutes late, Infact she was as early as 6:00am news. 

"Am sorry sir" Emma shook her head, clearly not happy about her being late to her first day of work. 

"Let's get this straight miss Heather, just because of the circumstances towards which you were being employed doesn't mean you should come in at your own desired time" I told her with a straight face, she wanted to speak but I beat her to it. “One more late report to work you're fired and once you're fired you'll only get your pay for the time  you've worked here and you won't be receiving any 2million" I concluded with a victory smile she didn’t see. 

 She looked at me with pure confusion

"But that wasn't part of the deal yesterday"

"It is now pumpkin" I said with another smile. 

"It's Miss Heather or Emma" She said trying to subdue her anger. 

"Here's the contract, make yourself comfortable" I pointed to the sit opposite me. 

She sat and concentrated on the contract for some minutes then turned to me with a fierce look. 

"You know this isn't going to work right?" she asked while the side of her lip twisted with amusement.

"It will from now on"  I said back to her as 

She took the paper and tore it into two. Gaining a confused yet angry glare from me. 

"oops, sorry it was an accident"she said with an innocent look.

"What the hell? That's It you're fired"

"Oh you wouldn't dare,  I'll work for you but it will be on my terms or you could just fire me and watch me terrorize you for the rest of your life"  She  said with same innocent yet devilish smile. 

  Oh lord help me, What have I gotten myself into, I knew this lady was trouble. “Fine , we'll come up with a contract together" I told her  "but one more lateness from you and you're fired"

"Fine"  I raised my hands up in defeat.

She smiled as she walked to the door  "tell Macy to hand over the documents to you and put you through the necessary"  she nodded as she opened the door and closed it quietly behind her.

 Emma's pov

  I woke up late in the evening feeling really tired.  If working for Everything Glow was tiring, working for Tobi was much more exhausting. 

Tobi made me work nonstop and it all got worst when he instructed Macy to show me around the company. She made my life a living hell by turning simple things complicated. I headed down to the kitchen to get something to eat. As I opened the Fridge a shadow came behind me.  I almost hit the person but then realized it was Lola. 

"Jesus you scared me" I shouted placing my hand on my chest. My heartbeat increased rapidly and I squinted my eyes and released a deep sigh. 

"I never knew your boss was this hot" Lola said raising her eyebrows. Her phone in her hands and I figured she must have known through the internet. 

"Now you know"  I told her pouring cornflakes into a plate and reaching for the milk. 

"Come on Em, don't you wanna explore a little bit?" She asked smiling like she just said the most brilliant thing ever.

 Explore no, not with Tobi he brings out everything have tried so hard to keep from everyone,  in the weirdest way he makes me want to trust him and the last time I did that it got really bad I mean with Zach. Call me stupid I still had hope that I could work things out with Zach. 

"Nah, He's my boss" I told Lola, I moaned as soon as the cornflakes got to my tastebud. It’s been a while I ate something this good and Lola was about to ruin it for me. 

"There's no rule against boss and employee romance" Lola said with a knowing look. 

"Lol” I started, ‘Lol’ is like a short for ‘Lola’ “I get that you love me and want me to feel alive but am not going to do that at the expense of my own self.  Besides I am great" I told myself more to her, I have a job I'll be a millionaire soon and then I’ll be able to go to a small town, buy myself a house and do whatever it is I feel like doing. 

"Tell yourself that" She said with her famous smile  "Come on Em, he's exactly what you need, he's rich and famous and a no strings attached kinda guy" She convinced me. 

"He's almost horrible" I pout. 

"Horribly handsome" She wiggled her eyebrows. 

 I bit my lips getting tired of Lola's constant nagging  "why don't we do it this way Lol" I told her with a smile " if you're so attracted to him why don't you just go sex him? I promise I won't tell Tyler” I added.

"Are you kidding me Tyler would find out, and there's no way in hell I am cheating on him"

"There's no way in hell am cheating on Zach" The words flew right out of my mouth, I cursed myself inwardly about how stupid I was.  Since Zach left have been living with the hope he would come back.

"Em"  Lola called with almost the same pity look she had when she found out Zach left me. This time it was mixed with sadness, and pain.

"Zach  is gone Em, he's getting married to someone else, he's never going to come back and even when he does it's because he's gone broke and wants money favour from you” 

"We haven't signed any divorce paper yet” I told her. 

"He said he's going to send The papers to you once they're ready"

"Am going to fight for him" I said more to myself than Lola.

"He doesn't want you fighting for him" 

"It's something married couples only understand, what would you know,  you've never been married"  I regretted immediately the words came out. 

Lola looked at me with so much hurt as she walked to her room slowly, her blue eyes were covered with tears already.  I walked behind her into her room. 

"Am sorry Lola" I told her sincerely.

"Just go, please" She said with so much more pain. Lola was hiding something from me, I had said way more hurtful words than this to her and she forgave me instantly but this seems like it bore a hole in her heart.  Am going to find out what exactly happened.
