Rebuilding Love

I had just made it home from work when I heard Justin my son yell "mama you got an important letter it's on the counter." I smile at him as he heads to his room shaking his head. I head over to the counter and see Tony and some girl making out.

I couldn't believe this ass would end up making out in my fucking apartment in front of my son and even though Justin yelled didn't stop kissing the girl he was with. I clear my throat and he looks at me and just smirks.

I shake my head "get out Tony and take your slut with you and don't ever talk to me again." "Ah, come on baby you know I only love you.  She kissed me and I tried pushing her off."

The girl was just standing there with her arms around Tony smirking. Shaking my head I laughed "Tony you all were lip locked for a while and I am not stupid plus Justin yelled that there was something in here for me. Remember I am not stupid or desperate enough to continue seeing you.

Get out and stay away from Justin." The girl just smirks "why don't you leave Bitch." I laugh "see it's my apartment and I was letting Tony stay here till he found his own place and well now his place is on the streets."

I walk over to the guest room grab his bags and throw them in the hall along with some other clothes I found in the room that was obviously not his or mine.  The girl stares at me "you would throw him out on the streets." I look at her "yep, I told him when we started dating I don't tolerate cheating so see ya."

He just smirks "yet look at you." I glare at him and before I could say anything I hear "get out of her house now or I will make you leave." I turn to the door and there stand my two best friends Juan and Lucy.

Tony was always afraid of Juan so he takes off running leaving his slut behind hell leaving without saying anything. She looks around as Lucy starts cracking her fingers and gulps before running out the door.

I turn to them and I am instantly engulfed in a hug and start to cry "when is it ever going to be my turn." Juan just passes me off to Lucy while he makes his way into the kitchen and I can hear him in there banging pots and pans around.

Lucy looks at me "I am so sorry sweetie I never would have thought he would do this to you." "I know but I guess I deserve this." "Stop that. Damn it, Trina, it is not your fault you befriended that asshole, and well...I know you lost everything but at least you have Justin. You know that he loves you no matter what."

"Yeah, at least I still have Justin." I smile "At least I know Tony didn't love her." How do you know he doesn't love her?" I smile "He left her behind." We started laughing "So true Trina so true. So, how was your day?"

"Good they still want me to transfer to the states to head their office in Mcallen." "Why don't you take it and get away from here? Trina, I think it is time you two go back."

"I don't know Lucy after they kicked me out I ran and I haven't looked back."  "Only because you got accepted into Oxford and landed your dream job after graduating. You have to do this it is everything you have been working for plus..."

"What Lucy?" "Juan and I are being offered jobs there as well. The only reason we haven't accepted is we don't want to leave you and Justin."  It wasn't long before Juan comes out with tacos and iced tea.

I couldn't help but laugh "dude is that sweet tea." "Yep, just the way you like it, Trina. Just so you know I heard what Lucy said and I agree. We all need a change of scenery plus the sooner we leave the better."

"Why is that Juan?" I see Lucy blush "Well, see...I'm pregnant." I jump up and wrap my arms around her and then around Juan "congratulations you two."

"Yeah, who would have thought us meeting up at that coffee shop and becoming best friends I would fall for this dork." It isn't long before Justin comes in from the kitchen "thank you again Uncle Juan for the tacos.

Oh, and mom here is that letter it is from the United States a place called Mcallen, Texas." He hands me the letter before walking off and heading to his room. I stare down at the letter he placed in my hands and look around the room.

"What is wrong Trina?" "This is the fourth letter they have sent this month but the first time it is registered. It has been years since they sent me anything once they realized I was not giving up Nana and Pop's house."

"What did the other three letters say?" "I don't know I just shredded them." "Why would you do that?"  I look at them with tears spilling down my cheeks "because I can't it's been sixteen years they don't even know that Justin is really...plus the first letters they sent were awful I just started shredding them."

"Look if they are contacting you now maybe they finally realized their mistake."  "I don't know if I could forgive them guys even my dad turned his back on me as well as my brother and sister. I lost everything that day."

"Yet, you are not the same person anymore Trina you are stronger than you were back then no one messes with Dr. Katrina Marie Garza. Plus if you take the job we will as well. So, we will be with you." I look at them "I don't know I have to think about this before I make a decision." They just nod at me and we dropped the subject for the rest of the night.

It was late when they both left and I sat there staring at the envelope addressed to me with a name I never thought I would see again. 

As I closed my eyes thinking of what I am going to do I am dragged back to that fateful time when everything started falling apart.  It was the first day of school after our Christmas break and standing at a locker close to mine is a new boy.

I didn't pay him any attention as I placed my stuff in my locker and pulled out the books I was going to need for the first part of the day. I heard a voice clear next to me "excuse me do you know where 281 is located?"

I look at him and smile "yes, as a matter of fact, that is my first class as well."  "Great maybe we can walk together." "Sure but we need to wait for my best friend and my boyfriend they have that class as well."

It wasn't long before I felt two arms snake around my waist and felt two lips press against my neck. "Hmm, you are wearing that new body spray I got you for Christmas baby." "Yep." I spin around in his arms pressing my lips to his cheek."

"Now Tom what would Tris say about you kissing my neck." "I would say touch my girl like that again bro and I will break your neck twin or not." I couldn't help but giggle at my tall muscle-bound boyfriend.

I loved the way his dishwater blond hair fell over his eyes. His green eyes I easily got lost in every time I looked into them. His twin brother looked just like him except he had blue eyes and even though I was madly in love with his twin brother he never held it against me.

It is hard to believe my best friend was ok when his brother and I started dating.  I really thought it would be hard on the family since we were all so close but our parents couldn't have been happier when we ended up together.

Well all except my mom. Actually, she didn't even know about us since she disappeared on us after my brother was born. What made matters worse when she left was we found out that my dad was not the father of my brother.

It was then I learned that she had cheated on him and when she found out she was pregnant with her lover's baby she told him and he left her. She tried to follow him only to find out she wasn't the only woman he was seeing.

It was a year after she left that we found out she killed herself because she had lost everything for that guy. So in our family cheating was a very touchy subject.  I introduced the guys to the new guy and started laughing "sorry I didn't catch your name "

"Micheal O'Neal." "Oh, well I am Katrina Marie Garza but everyone calls me Trina. This is my best friend Thomas William Livingston who goes by Tom and his twin brother and my boyfriend Tristan Walter Livingston and everyone calls him Tain but me."

"Ok, well should we get to class." I see Tristan lift his eyebrow at me "oh, he has a class with all of us so I offered to help him find his way." "Ok, babe, well let's get to class."

He would tell me constantly there was something about him that was off. It only got worse when Tristan proposed to me and I accepted the proposal since I had been in love with him since we were in middle school.

Micheal started following me around more and turning up at my house all the time. I tried to keep my distance but nothing I did was working.

When he overheard me and Tom talking and me admitting to giving my virginity to Tristan and how I was a little worried I might be pregnant. It was that day he put his plan into action.

He showed up at my house before I even arrived and climbed into my room and set everything up. When I entered my room there he was and before I could do anything he threw me on the bed gagged me tied me up then cut off my clothes. 

He was in the middle of rapping me when Tristan walked in and saw him on top of me. All Tristan said was "I guess you were right. Trina, we are done." I tried telling him I needed help but there was nothing I could do.

When he was done with me he uncuffed me and got dressed and left me there. I tried telling everyone the truth but no one would listen. My dad even threw me out since I was already eighteen.

I just made my way to the hospital filed a report and transferred schools. I was able to find help thankfully and finished high school away from everyone I knew.

I found out through social media that Micheal had been telling Tristan that I was secretly dating him and that we had been having sex for a while. Micheal had planned Tristan catching us in the act.

It wasn't long after I graduated I found out the head cheerleader Julie had paid Micheal to hit on me and make sure that I would end up alone. I don't think either one of them expected me to literally lose everything.

Lucky for me Micheal was a wanted man and when they hauled him in to keep himself out of jail for most of his life he cut a deal and told the police everything and even had proof of Julie's involvement.

She also ended up in jail for what she had done. I tried telling my family the truth but they wouldn't listen to me so once I graduated I took off and ended up going to school at Oxford and I have not been back to Mcallen, Tx for sixteen years.

Justin knows about his father and well his whole family and he also knows why he has never met them. He has a hard time understanding how his father would believe a jerk over the woman he loved and knew most of his life.

I took a deep breath and stared at the envelope trying to decide if I should open the damn thing. As I sat there I remembered when I went one last time to the Livingston's home and left my keys and everything they ever bought me there only taking an old toothbrush of Tristan's for his DNA.

I already knew that Micheal was not the father so I was pretty sure the baby I was carrying was Tristan's but I wanted proof. That was the last registered letter I opened. I was so happy and heartbroken when there was no doubt Tristan was the father.
