Chapter Nine

Easy Butterfly. 

  

Tobi's Pov

" Hey pumpkin"  I kissed Emma's cheek, she was laying comfortably in the sofa, obviously she slept off watching a movie titled four feet apart which they just ended. 

"Hey" she replied sitting up slowly while rubbing her eyes like a child. 

I laughed at the gesture "you shouldn't have waited for me" I told her. 

"I wanted to and besides you promised to get chocolate cake when coming back"  she studied my face for some seconds and twisted her face in anger " You didn't get it did you?"she asked angrily. 

"No I didn't, we could go out tomorrow to a cake shop and you'll get to choose any cake of your choice" I suggested with raised eyebrows. 

These past few days I have grown comfortable with her, even though it bothered me a little I choose to ignore that little devil voice that wants to stop me from living a little. Emma was exceptionally fun to be with and the way she acts like a child makes me care for her more deeply. 

Her smile showed her white set of 32 teeth and a little dimple I barely never noticed "sounds fair". 

I took her by hand to the dinner "I ate already" she said in a whisper. 

"Sit with me while I eat" I told her smiling, she sat opposite and smiled back while I took a bite from my meal. 

"Do you have any siblings?" She asked suddenly. 

"A sister and a half brother" I told her sincerely and studied her confused look. 

"She's a fashion designer, am sure you should have heard of Nina's clothing"

she didn't wait for me to finish as she cut in “You've got to be kidding me, Nina Simmons is your sister? She's gorgeous and sweet and everything you're not if I may add"  she said the last part in a low voice that I almost missed it . 

"I am nice" I defended with an already occupied mouth. 

"Have you seen yourself with your employees?" She asked giving a knowing look. 

"It's normal to create a distance between the employees and employers" 

"And me?" 

"You're my PA" I said in a sharp yet defensive voice. 

"Easy butterfly" she joked which caused a small smile to play at the end of my lip.

"My half brother was born way before my dad and mom got married, Andrew's mom died while giving birth to him"

"Am so sorry" she said softly. 

"He's the most hilarious person in the universe, he refused to take over Dad's company even if he's the heir to most companies, he organizes his own comedy show once every month I'll take you there next month". I told her with a proud smile, Andrew was the best brother I could ever have and I felt really proud anytime I had to talk about him. 

"So everybody isn't a workaholic like you" she said biting down her laugh. "One  last question" 

"Shoot" I told her with a boyish grin. 

"Who's Anna" 

The question came out like it's been on her mind for a really long time and she's glad to push it out. What should I tell her she's my ex that am still madly in love with?.  I stared at my unfinished food for some minutes until she called my name. 

"Go to bed, tomorrow is gonna be a busy day" I looked at my food uninterested, pushed it aside and walked out to my study but not before seeing Emma’s disappointed face.

Emma's Pov 

Things got really awkward between me and Tobi. He returned back to his cold self just like when we first met, we hardly spoke all day except when he asked for his schedule for the day and a few times when he asked for some files. 

He never failed to give me something new to do when he noticed I had lesser things to do. I began to do my work slowly when I noticed his new scheme.

"Miss Heather" he called professionally,  he hasn't stopped calling me that all day and just as he called the realization that I haven't eaten all day hit me and it's past lunch time. My stomach made terrible noise and I wrapped my hands around it, hoping Tobi didn’t hear the noise. 

"Yes sir" I answered as he brought out bunch of organized papers and handed them to me. 

"I need these to be distributed to everyone in the marketing sector and tell Miss Holly if she values her job I should be seeing a raise in the market price from my office here and tell Macy she's yet to inform me about the clients from Korea"  He said without breathing and I prayed within me I shouldn't forget a sentence of what he said else my job would be on the line also. 

 I memorized in details what he said as I delivered the errand accordingly, I was on my way to my last errand to Macy when I bumped into someone, falling off the paperwork in his hand. 

"Am so sorry" I said bending down to pick up the papers which were now scattered on the floor. 

"It's okay, I was on my way to trash them anyways" A pair of cat brown eyes smiled at me, I smiled back relieved that someone was being nice to me finally. 

I sighed in relief as soon as he said that "Are you new here?" he asked. 

"I guess I am” I laughed awkwardly. 

"Nice meeting you, I gotta go" he flashed me a small smile and left hurriedly. 

I delivered the message to Macy and went back to my post right outside Tobi's office after informing him I was done. 

 After about 20minutes, I heard the sound of sharp hills and a godlike lady came in the view. Her makeup was like ten layers from her face which made her look so damn pretty, her curves were like it took God a whole month to make, she was dressed like she had a fashion show to attend. 

"Am sorry ma'm you cant go in before checking in" I told her as she opened the door and went in, I stood in front of her to stop her from going further. 

She looked at me from head to toe and smiled "your outfit would have been perfect if not for your shoe" she walked past me as I studied my shoe wondering what was wrong with it, it was perfect if anything. 

"you should hire a PA with class Tob" she said with so much familiarity as she kissed his cheeks. 

"You can leave now Miss Heather" Tobi said and stopped me while I was close to the door  "I won't be needing you for the rest of the day" he added. 

I turned to look at his face and I noticed something I have never noticed before Love and fear. If he is in love with her why is he scared?, as I walked out I continued asking myself several questions. 

" You don't know her do you? if you did you wouldn't have stopped her from entering" The guy from before asked me . 

"Who's she?" I asked him curiously. 

"She's the bosses girlfriend, am sure she came to make amends to what she did to him"  he said and he walked out. 

 The last thing I heard before I closed for the day was the sound of them kissing and moans in between.
