Chapter Ten

If you don’t stop staring at my lips am gonna kiss you. 

Emma's Pov

    

Tobi didn't come home that night or the next night, we couldn't get to see because it was Sunday and a no work day and I didn't want to call sounding like a desperate PA.

Laura told me he took a short business trip and would be back in his own time. But I knew well enough that it's all one of Tobi lies. Maybe he did reconcile with his girlfriend and needed time with her alone. 

"Here you are, I have been ringing the bell like in forever" Lola said looking all over the house and obviously impressed and awed by what she saw. 

"Am sorry I zoned off" I lied. 

"You look terrible" she sat beside me and I rolled my eyes not ready for her lectures. "Don't tell me your boss is over you" Her eyes widened. 

"Don't be so dramatic Lol, we were never in a relationship" I told her quietly knowing if my voice was up an inch further Laura would hear me. 

"The cuddling, kissing?” Lola asked with raised eyebrows. 

"Just one kiss and I was drunk"I corrected. 

"Several almost near kisses, the sweet names all that was for nothing?" Lola asked again her eyes almost bagging from her eye socket. 

Leave it to Lola to make a scene out of nothing. First she urged me to get down with my boss and now she's ranting about how unfair he is treating me. 

"What am concerned about is why he was scared"  I said sincerely,  I mean if he loves her why is he scared?. 

Lola starred at me with confusion showing clearly on her face  "scared? Of you" 

"His ex, the kiss and all that" I reminded her. I had rant to her about all of it earlier, that’s the flex of having a best friend you could tell absolutely anything and everything. 

"Oh yeah, maybe he was scared of how you'd react if you find out he was cheating" Lola said with a knowing look. 

"Oh please, In these past few weeks I know Tobi and what he's capable of doing" I was definitely sure of what Tobi could and couldn’t do. 

"Like you knew Zach" Lola said in a sharp tone "don't trust too easily Em,  we are not gonna nurse what happened with Zach twice. I told you to have fun not trust and rely on him"  Lola said with the most gentle voice. 

"Okay mom" I smiled however glad that she was over Tobi's topic. "So how's work?" I added 

“Great, Tyler got transferred so I don’t have to see him for a while now”  She sighed happily. 

"And how’s it going with the new guy?” I asked her wiggling my brows. 

"Daniel?, We haven't done the deed yet" Lola frowned which brought out my full smile. 

"Get out" I exclaimed excitedly "You love him?" 

"No I don't"

I shot daggers at her with my eyes "it wasn't a question" 

"Sounded like one"  she defended " we almost did but he stopped us, like he's the first guy I have ever been with that has told me we should take it slow and we'll see where that get us"  she responded dreamily 

"You love him"  I said refusing to give up 

"Maybe, I mean who wouldn't love a guy who has taken you to several dates and wouldn't touch you because he feels if something goes wrong he wouldn't want to hurt you,  who wouldn't love a guy that apologizes even when he isn't wrong" she said with tearing eyes "With all that happened with Tyler I never thought in such a short period of time I would meet someone this perfect" she breath out nervously. 

 I pulled her into my chest hugging her, of everyone I have known and loved Lola have the biggest of heart,  she didn't let the failure of one past destroy her,  that's what have always admired about her 

"You deserve more babe" I assured her patting her back.

"I know right" she laughed creating a distance between us "You're such a bad host, have been here for about an hour and I haven't had anything to drink" 

"My bad what do you want?" I asked smiling. 

"The most expensive wine in this house" 

"That would be the one worth 5million" I laughed out loud. 

"Get out" she shouted with bulging eyes 

"I'll get you juice then" I laughed heading to the kitchen. 

Lola left few minutes past seven and still there wasn't any sign of Tobi,  I was too scared to call him and sad that I couldn't, I didn’t want to sound desperate. 

"Ma'm if you're decent enough we could go for a drive"  Donald stood beside me in a stiff professional way, I quit trying to get him to call my name. 

"Am fine, I could watch a movie and go to bed" I told him tiredly. 

"I insist Ma'm, Mister Tobi wouldn't like that you spent the weekend all alone indoors" Donald said again. He wouldn't like it my butt, he's the one who went off with his girlfriend without a word to his PA. 

"A minute and I'll be with you" I smiled gracefully and rushed to my room to get my phone.

 Tobi's Pov

My smile widened as I sight Emma ignorantly walk out of the car which was widely opened for her by Donald. I let out a chuckle upon seeing she wore a thick pink joggers and a white faded v-necked top,  which showed her neckline and made me think of what it would be like kissing them. 

Her nipples stood firmly in her dress and the thought of kissing them gave me a boner.  Am not supposed to feel this way with Anna back and all that.  Though we weren't back Together but I could maybe win her back this time. 

 I watched as she hesitantly walked behind Donald obviously complaining about her outfit. Donald led her to my table and left with a nod . Her eyes widened at the sight of me, in an instant anger covered her shocked expression. 

"We wouldn't want to give the paparazzi something to talk about now would we?"  I asked her teasingly.  She sat letting a small smile play at the end of her lips. 

"No Sir Tobi," she sat opposite me "what would his highness like me to do at this not so gracious hour?"  She added sarcastically . 

I flinched at her words and turned my expression to normal before she could notice it. "I promised to buy you chocolate cake" 

"You wouldn't bring me all the way here just for chocolate cake"  she frowned. 

"And to tell you,  You've been an amazing PA"  I watched her expression and added "and it wasn't right behaving like an asshole and I'll accept whatever punishment you give to me" I watch a devilish smile crawl up her face. 

"Sounds fair" she smirked. 

I smiled relieved that it's all settled "how about we take the cake home watch a movie or two together?"  I asked expectantly.  

"A minute"  she called for the waiter "I'll need a chocolate flavored cake and a coconut cake"  she told him smiling. 

"You wouldn't happen to have tasted my banana cake have you?" He asked flirty 

"I would love to"  she smiled innocently, unaware of what he meant. 

"Or you could stick to your job or rather be jobless" I threatened angrily,  he hastily left our table. 

"You didn't have to be so mean"Emma said angrily.

"Well he shouldn't have flirted with you" 

"No he didn't" 

"Yes he did" 

"No"

"Yes" 

"No" 

"No he didn't" 

"Yes he did"  she held her mouth immediately she realized she just admitted to it . 

"I would love you to taste my banana"I emphasized on the word banana, her mouth formed an O shape. 

Our orders came and we left the cake shop, Emma didn't say a word even as we got home "you don't have to be so embarrassed by your answer" I told her 

"He must think am an hoe, being with a guy and flirting with another" she looked at me and added " I mean sitting with a man and flirting with another" she corrected even more embarrassed than she already was. 

"I get it" I smiled as we both went inside the sitting room. There wasn't any need to change because I was in a sweat shirt and a pajamas kinda trousers. 

"Abominable" She said smiling. 

"Come on Em, not cartoons" 

"You said you'll accept any punishment" 

" using my words against me now aren't we?" I smiled at her. 

"Maybe"  She said in a sing song.  

She cut the cake into several little pieces and filled our glasses with my favorite orange juice. I positioned myself on the sofa and she got on top of me, just like our old position while watching movies. 

 Halfway gone I spoke up "I missed you"  I said in a whisper "and if you don't stop staring at my lips am gonna kiss you"  I couldn't escape the blush on her face and mine was burning red also.
