Chapter Six

Why are your lips so tempting. 

Emma's Pov

One of the most important things about living is having people there for you. Mom has been living with Lola and I since she found out Zach  left. 

She just left to the airport since her boyfriend started complaining of not seeing much of her, I wouldn't blame him though because unlike me they had plans. 

 I haven't seen or talked to Lola since our heated argument, have knocked on her door several times and tried to listen if she is there or not but silence was always my answer.  She has refused to pick my call and for the first time I wished I had  her boyfriend's number. 

"Are you listening to me pumpkin?"  My boss Tobi asked with an annoyed look. His eyes drew closer and in some way he seemed concerned. 

I shook back to reality and shoot him a sorry smile I thought he wouldn't hear. 

He stared intensely into my eyes and for a moment I noticed pure lust, until he shifted his eyes to the paper in my hands licking his dried lips. 

"My schedule?" He said not so politely and I frowned at his tone. 

"Shareholders meeting by 1pm, visitation to a new site by 3, meeting with your bank manager by 5 and you're free for the day sir" I read aloud proud of myself that I sounded professional despite what the dirty thoughts running through my mind. 

The door opened and Jim walked in looking ravishingly handsome in his markers shirt, Jean trousers and Sneakers.  I have only seen his pictures on the internet and he had this business look in all of them and I can say he's quite different on ground and wasn't so business like. 

"What's up"  He shook Tobi's hand ignoring my presence. How rude, I thought within me. 

"You didn't inform me you were coming" Tobi's face for the first time since I have met him was plastered with am honest smile. 

"And I am so welcome" Jim said yet with another smile, he turned to me scanning me from head to toe "you must be Miss Heather, it nice to finally meet you" he took my hand and kissed it.  His lips were so soft, making the butterflies in my stomach jump for joy. 

"The pleasure is all mine Mr Page" I returned back his smile blushing profusely. 

"Enough of the introduction"  Tobi's cold voice immediately stopped the butterflies. I turned to glare at him and then turned back to Jim with my most genuine smile. 

"Did you get a welcome party yet?" Jim asked with excitement. I nodded a no, I never thought a well known company like Tobis’would throw a welcome party for every employee. 

"Come on Tob, when have you become so boring,  you and Anna never misses welcoming any employee" Jim said and I watched my boss face twist in anger. 

"That was a long time ago before things changed"  He said yet with another cold voice. 

  

Who was Anna ? There was this wall built around him the moment her name was mentioned.  Maybe she's his dead sister, or maybe his dead lover,  but there wasn't any talk on the internet about him having a girlfriend, it should be his sister. 

"We're throwing a welcome party tonight and also my farewell party" Jim announced with another of his famous smile. 

"Farewell what?" Tobi asked surprised. 

Jim moved closer to Tobi and whispered something in his ear. "I know I should have told you"  Jim said apologetically. 

"It's okay it was bound to happen anytime soon" Tobi replied scratching his eyes. 

"See you at the party?" Jim asked hopefully. 

"We'll see" 

"See you Blonde, and wear something sexy" He said with a wink as he left. I have a bad feeling about this party.

Tobi's Pov

After I was done for the day,  I headed back home exhausted. The meeting with my bank manager took longer than I expected, we got delayed couldn't start on time and ended the meeting at 8:30pm. 

I was about taking the left turn to my mansion when Jim's text came in "we're waiting for you man" it read. 

I sighed taking the opposite turn to Club Vee. I couldn't help but think of Emma on my way there, the little hoe got a way of making me worried about her.  I parked in a space instructed by the guy on duty and headed towards the entrance. 

"You can't go in" A big black guy with scars on his face told me, his huge figure stood tall stopping me from entry. 

I reached for my ID card and showed it to him. He smiled apologetically while he opened the door. 

" Am sorry sir" I heard him say as the sound of the loud music erupted my hearing. 

 Leave it to Jim to pick the best and at the same time the worst place ever.  I mean who takes a girl to a strip club for her welcome party. 

I sighted them at the end of the bar drinking, laughing, talking.  I moved my gaze to Emma who gulped down two shot in a matter of seconds and requested for more. 

" Easy there tiger" I rushed towards her as i sat on the chair beside her. She ignored my presence gulping down yet another shot. 

" Hey man"  Jim said in a sing song. 

"How long have you guys been drinking?"  I asked My three other employees,  sincerely I don't know their name but I know one work in the marketing department. 

"It's a party boss, it doesn't matter how much we drink" The black haired spoke with an Italian accent, obviously tipsy. 

The bar tender pushed a glass to me and I murmured a half thank you.  

Jim stood up smiling and missing one step after the other " I am gonna go talk to that burnet"  he pointed to a girl who wasn't a burnet but dark haired.  

I nodded and held Emma back as she moved to follow him. 

" can't I go dance?"  She asked 

"When you're sober" I told her, signally the bar tender to get me another drink. 

She pouted like a little kid but sat down without much questions. After staring at me in what seems like minutes, she spoke up with a smile “Why are your lips so tempting?"  She asked with a serious look. She think my lip is sexy ? I didn't know that. 

"Who's Anna?  Why did you have this wall around you when Jim mentioned her name?"  She didn't wait for me to answer the first which I counted as a good thing, but the second caught me off guard. I had no idea how she got to know about Anna but I wasn’t about telling my problem to a stranger. 

" so you're on first name basics with him" 

" Ofcourse who wouldn't like him, He's charming and handsome and he's a great kisser" she said twirling her hand and giving her same old drunken charming smile.  I looked around and couldn't find my employees and Jim. 

"Are you?" She asked again even though all her questions were left unanswered. 

"Am I What"

"A great kisser" It came out of her mouth like she was born to ask me. I stiffed as she moved her lips closer to mine. Her breath fanned my face, her mouth smelled of strawberry mix with alcohol and her hair scented like lemon. 

  

I never got so close to her before and being close to her made me feel things I shouldn't feel. Things I am supposed to feel for just Anna.  

My stomach twisted and I gulped down saliva, my head began to spin and my heartbeat faster than usual, I felt goosebumps all over my body and suddenly I was hot. 

"What are you doing?"  I asked her. 

" kissing you" she replied slowly yet seductively,  if i move a teeny tiny bit further then our lips would be touching. I couldn't feel this way for any woman,  it ruined me before and it would again. 

" I love your scent"  she said and spoke again "lily" and then she fainted.
