A Surprise

Nelson alighted from the car the moment they got home and rushed into the house.

" Lucy!" He called thunderously as she saw the maid.

" Sir!" Replied Lucy shaking in fear, with her hands behind her back. Melody walked in at the same time.

" Is my mother home?" Asked Nelson.

" Yes Sir, in her room." Lucy replied and he left the sitting room and hurried upstairs.

He pushed the door of the room open immediately and went in.

" Ahhh! Oh yeah! Ummm..... Ba....by..... Ohhhh! Shiitt! Fuuuk..... Ummm....." That's the sound he heard coming from the bathroom, when he entered the room.

He needed no one to tell him that it's his mother, making love with her new husband.

" Wait! What the hell is.......!" He trailed off and stared at the bathroom, then turned away again.

He stared at the bathroom again, turned and walked to the door, opened it and walked out.

" Did you see her? What did she say? How's Selina now?" Melody rushed out and stood up from the chair she's sitting.

" Are you sure that you're telling me the truth Melody?" Nelson asked and Melody raise her brows.

" Of course I am. What happened? Is Selina alright?" Melody said.

" I don't know, but......" He sat down and rubbed the back of his head. " When I got into that room, I didn't see my mother, but I heard her voice. She's in there with her husband, and I'm kind of surprise. I mean......" He trailed off when he catched sight of her little sister.

" Janet!" Nelson called and stood up. " Have you seen Selina?" He asked walking towards her.

Janet stepped down from the stairs and head to him as well.

" Talk to me Janet, what's happening?" Nelson asked as he noticed her countenance.

" I don't know what happened to her big bro, but Mom said she'll be fine." Janet said in tears.

Nelson glanced at Melody, then back at Janet. " But where is she now?" He asked.

" She's in the hospital." Janet replied.

" And Mom is here doing......." He trailed off and roughed his hair. " You know what? Stop crying and go back to your room. She'll be fine okay? Nothing will happen to her, i believe that. Just go back to your room." Nelson said to her.

" Are you sure about that?" Janet asked.

" Am pretty sure, trust me okay? Go to your room." Nelson said and Janet wiped her tears and gulped down.

" Stop crying, she'll be fine." Nelson said and Janet nodded and begin to head back to her room.

" Janet! Where's Juliana?" Nelson asked.

" She's in her room sleeping." Janet replied.

" Stop crying okay? Go to your room, Selina will be fine." Nelson assured her again.

" Thank you brother." Janet said.

" I gat your back!" Nelson said and faked a smile. He turned to Melody the moment Janet was out of sight.

" Did you just hear that? Selina is in the hospital, and my Mom is here having...... Having...... Like......" He stuttered and heaved a sigh, " I don't think that her condition is that bad. If it was, she wouldn't be at home now. My thought though." Melody said and sat down on the chair.

" My Mom has always been like this ever since she met this man. That's why I didn't want them to be together in the first place. I see this man has a pretender, I see him as a monster. Like,

I don't even know how to put it for you to understand.

But I think this man is here to reap from where he didn't sow, and I won't allow that.

He has started his plans by trying to kill my sister, but guess what? It's going to be messy if anything happens to her, cause I'll kill him with my bare hands. Mark my words!" Nelson said and hurried to the door.

" Where are you going to?" Melody asked and stood up.

" Oh! I forgot to ask Janet where the hospital is. Wait for me!" Nelson said and hurried to Janet's room.

On arrival, he asked about the location of the hospital and she told him.

" Can I come with you?" Janet asked.

" No, stay with Juliana, in case she wakes up. Mom is busy." Nelson said.

" But the maids are there." Janet said.

" She'll want to see you, not the maids. Take care, I'll soon be back." Nelson said and rushed out of the room.

" Let's go!" He said to Melody as he got to the sitting room, and went straight to the main door.

He opened it and walked out, followed by Melody. He entered the car and zoom out of the compound.

Juliet came out from the bathroom with a towel around her body and walked to the drawer stand.

She untie the towel and dried herself, then brought out a lotion from the drawer and applied it on her skin.

She put on her dress afterwards and left the room to her daughter, Juliana's room.

On arrival, she met the little girl just waking up.

" Mother!" She called and sat up on the bed.

" How are you sweetie?" Juliet said and carried her into her arms. Just then, Janet walked in.

" Mom you're here." She said and her mother suddenly turned to her.

" Yes Janet. I came to see my little baby." She said and chuckle.

" Nelson was looking for you." Janet said as she left the door and walked fully into the room.

" Nelson? Is he back? Where's he?" She asked.

" I think he went to see big sis in the hospital." Janet replied and sat down on the bed.

" Oh! You told him?" Juliet asked.

" Yes!" Janet replied politely and Juliet heaved a deep sigh and brought out her cellphone from her pocket.

She gasped when she saw Nelson's miss calls and decided to call him back.

While Donatus was dressing up in the room, a maid walked in and almost rushed out when she saw that he's half naked, but he stopped her.

He only had a pant on, and was just about to put on a trouser when she came in.

" Hey!" Donatus said and the maid froze at the spot.

He put on his trouser and took a few steps to her.

" Who are you? And what are you doing here? Did you come here to steal?" He asked quickly and the maid shook her head negatively.

" No Sir I...... I......" She stuttered, unable to face him.

" Look at me and speak!" Donatus yelled and she begin to shake in fear. She turned to him as he instructed, but dare not look at his face.

" Yes sir!" She said immediately. " I..... I came to.... To tell you something. It's.... It's very important. It's about your wife son." The maid said.

" What about him?" Donatus asked, this time around in a cold tone.

"I think you should be careful with him, he's planning to kill you." She blurted out and Donatus widened his eyes in shock.

" Nelson is planning to kill me?" He asked.

" Yes Sir! He told his friend today when he came back. He vowed with his life to kill you. I..... I know that you're a good man, and you don't deserve all this. That's why I decided to report it to you, so that you'll be careful of how you trade. I don't think he likes you." The maid said and Donatus nodded.

" Thank you so much for your kind gesture, I really appreciate. But do you know what you'll do for me?" He asked and the maid shook her head negatively.

" I want you to be spying on them. Make sure that you report everything that they say about me to me. Do you understand?" He said and the maid nodded.

" Yes Sir!" She replied.

" Every single discussion about me, make sure that you tell me about it. Be it from my wife, her children or any visitor who comes here. Do you understand?" He said.

" Yes Sir!" She replied.

" Will it be too much for you to do?" He asked.

" No Sir, I'll do it." The maid replied.

" Very good, I'm going to increase your pay by next month. Thank you very much." Donatus said.

" My pleasure sir." The maid replied.

" You can go now." He ordered.

" Thank you Sir." The maid said and pushed the door open and walked out.

Donatus heaved a sigh and placed his hands on his waist.

"Are you really planning to kill me Nelson? Hahahaha!" He laughed. "I'll be the first to do so and you'll go and meet your father in hell. A little brat, threatening me? Can you imagine? You must be a fool! I have you all under my control and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

I will not rest until I archive my goals. And what is my goal? It is your......." He paused as the door flung open, and Juliet walked in instantly.
