Moment Of Worry

Juliet found it difficult to sleep that night. Her daughter is in the hospital, and his son is trying to set the house on fire.

" What did I do wrong?" She asked herself and rest her head on the pillow.

Donatus who's sleeping, suddenly woke up and tilted his head when he noticed that Juliet was awake.

" Sweetheart, what's wrong? Why are you sitting like this?" He asked and wiped his face, but she didn't reply.

" Sweetheart!" He called softly.

" Yes Honey!" Juliet replied with a sigh.

" What's going on through your mind? Tell me everything, I'm a shoulder for you to lean on. Tell me what's bothering you." He said and sat up on the bed, then shifted closer to her.

He pushed her head gently to his shoulder and begin to rub her back.

" Why are you so lonely? Is there anything you want me to do for you?" He asked.

" Not really!" Juliet said and kept her head well on his shoulder. " It's just that I'm worried." She added.

" Worried about what?" Donatus asked.

" Worried about my children's attitude!" She said and raised her head from his shoulder and stared at the door.

" What about them?" He asked after a little while of silence.

" You know what I'm talking about Donatus. Most especially my son. I'm sick and tired of this whole thing and i don't know what to do.

I've tried my best to please them, but they're still finding fault." Juliet said.

" Your son doesn't like me. It clearly shows with the manner of words he uses to talk to me. But I'm not surprise. Not surprise at all cause I know that, there might be someone out there who's trying to put fire in this house. And if we're not careful, if we're not wise enough, they'll definitely succeed." Donatus said.

" I rebuke it! It shall never happen. Not my home." Juliet said.

" I don't think I did anything wrong in marrying you. I married you because I love you. I married you because I care about you! I married you because you mean the world to me, you're my everything! But a child, I mean.......

A little boy will just come out and begin to say what he doesn't know?" He furrowed his brows.

" Sometimes I wonder where he gets the audacity from? A boy of 17 years old will be speaking as an adult. Like......." Juliet opened her palms. " I don't know! And anytime I think about this, I feel like loosing my mind. What has he turned into?" She asked.

" It is how you trained him." Donatus said.

" I never trained him that way, my husband was never like that. He's a respectful man." Juliet said.

" Where you with him when he's a teenager?" Donatus asked, but she didn't reply.

" I guess you weren't, and it's only his grandparents that can tell. I wish they're alive, I would've tell you to ask them. May their souls rest in peace." Donatus said.

" Amen!" Juliet said sadly.

" The child is spoilt already, there's nothing you can do about it. I have only one advise to give, but I don't know if you'll accept it." Donatus said.

" And what is that?" Juliet asked and suddenly stared at his face.

" I think we should just get a new apartment and moved them in. If they continue to live with us, we will experience lot of trouble and it's not good. What do you think?" He asked.

" I don't think it's a good idea Honey. I mean........." She opened her palms and tried to demonstrate, but dropped in frustration.

" I can't even think about it. How do I even do that? Throw my children out of their father's house? That's impossible! Say something else." She said and rest her head on his shoulder.

" I don't have any other idea, that's all I can think of. It's not as If you're going to abandon them. You can always pay them a visit anytime any day. All that matters is to stop the pending trouble that is luring to come." Donatus said.

" How would I even tell them about this?" Juliet asked.

" It's easy sweetheart." Donatus said and touched her with both hands. " You know they don't like me right? You won't tell them that I'm part of this plan, or else they'll disagree.

All you need to do is to give them key point that will make them to understand that this is necessary. Especially your son Nelson." Donatus said.

" Our son Nelson!" Juliet corrected him. " You're my husband, and you're automatically their father." She added.

" Very well then, sorry about that. Our son Nelson." He corrected himself and continued. "They're all students right? Why not get a house close to their house? Use that point." He added.

" And what if they say that they have a car, that they're okay with how it is?" Juliet asked.

" Then you can make a point of telling them that they'll live as free as they want. It won't barrier them from bringing in their boyfriends or girlfriends." Donatus said.

" I don't promote my children on such act. I only asked them to focus on their studies. I married their father when I was working, and prepared. I was done with school then.

And aside that, Nelson that I know will never agree to such thing, cause he'll say that this is his father's house and he can do whatever he wants if he wanted to.

And Selina, she's a woman and if she wanted such, she'll go to the man house, not the other way round. So you see! it's pointless!" She explained and Donatus heaved a sigh.

" It's pointless!" She repeated, this time around in a muffling way.

" Then if it can't be done in a gentle way, we can do it in a forceful way." Donatus said.

" What do you mean?" Juliet asked in bewilderment.

" What i mean is that, if we can't succeed in that way, we will succeed by doing it forcefully.

Don't let children control you Juliet. You're their mother and should have authority over them. Not them over you!" Donatus said.

" I find it difficult to understand where you're driving at." Said Juliet, still confused.

" We are going to get and apartment for them and they'll live there by all means!" Donatus said.

" But that's too harsh! I mean......

Forcing them to accept what they don't want?" Juliet said.

" This is one thing about you Juliet! This is.......

I did ask you about this remember? And you clearly told me that you're children aren't troublesome. Then what is this?

It is barely two days after our marriage and I can't even breath anymore. Receiving death threat here and there. Am tired of all this shit already. And I feel like I'm gonna lose my mind. After all you told me? Why is all these happening?" Donatus said and Juliet heaved a sigh and shook her head.

" It's not as If they're going to die. Selina is 22 years old, she's capable of taking care of them. Nelson will be there too, with the kind of power he possesses, he will be able to protect them. Aside that, we can also get some bodyguards for them, and you can visit them anytime you want. What is missing there huh? Tell me!" He said, but Juliet couldn't say a word.

" Just think about it. That's the only solution I can think of. Goodnight once again." He concluded and kissed her; then went back to sleep.

" This is.... Like....." Juliet whispered to herself. " I don't know what to do actually, this is tough for me. I'm confused." She said within, with a frown on her face and scratched her hair.
