A beast and a demon

Juliet was surprised when she entered the room, but found no one with her husband.

" Who are you talking to?" She asked in surprise, staring directly at his face.

" No one, I was just......" He drawled and paused. " Talking to myself." He added.

" Why? Is everything alright! I heard you mentioning goal, something like that. And being controlled. Who's controlling you?" Juliet asked and furrowed her brows.

" I didn't say that someone is controlling me. I only said that I'll be in control, you're misquoting me." Donatus said.

" Be in control of what exactly?" Asked Juliet.

" Of my business!" He replied sharply. " What do you think I'm talking about?" Donatus asked.

" Nothing! I just wants to know. I'll be leaving for the hospital." Juliet said.

" To the....... But..... This supposed to be our time Juliet. I mean....." He's interrupted.

" You cause this madness Donatus. Don't even bring this up!" Juliet said angrily and the open instantly revealing Nelson with an angry countenance.

" Mom we need to talk." He said immediately and Juliet's heart skipped a bit.

" And we are talking! You can go and wait for her, when she's done with me she'll come over." Donatus said authoritatively.

" Mom I said we need to talk!" Nelson said angrily, almost yelling at her.

" Can you bring down your voice Nelson? What is wrong with you?" She asked.

" He is wrong with me! He tried to kill my sister and I have every right to be angry." Nelson said sternly and Donatus glared at him.

" Is that why you're planning to kill me?" Donatus asked, putting his hands in his pocket.

" What are you saying?" Juliet asked and glanced at him.

" Yes! I will do it without feeling any remorse about it. Just pray for my sister to be alive, or else........" Nelson said and stormed out of the room angrily.

" Oh no! What has come over him?" Juliet muttered.

" Did you just hear that?" Donatus asked.

" Am sorry okay? I'll talk to him about it. I'm pretty sure he'll listen to me. He's just pained." Juliet said.

" But you're pained and you never threatened to kill me. We are talking about someone's life here. My own life Juliet! It's not something to joke about or pave aside. This is not the matter of being pained. It's his plans towards me." Donatus said.

" Can you just listen to me for once Donatus? He doesn't mean what he's saying. He's just saying it because of the situation on ground, and he's angry about it. Don't take it personal." Juliet said with a frown.

" With the fullness of the heart, the mouth speaks. I'll personally make a report about this, just on case anything happens to me. I won't take this lightly Juliet. Never!!!" Donatus said and picked his shirt and car keys from the bed and stormed out of the room.

" Where are you going to? Honey!" Juliet said, but he ignored her and opened the door and walked out.

" Am talking to you Honey, where are you going to?" Juliet asked behind him.

" Go and talk sense into your son." He said and the woman froze at the spot. He went straight to the main door, opened it and walked out.

" Why is all this happening on the same day? This suppose to be a day of happiness, but it turned out to be a day of trouble. Why?" Juliet asked herself as she stood at the staircase.

She decided to talk to her son as he suggested, but pray within that she agrees to whatever she will say.

She turned swiftly to Nelson's room direction; and in few minutes, she was there.

" I can't even understand! That man is a monster and I wonder why my mother is not seeing it." That's what she heard when she got to his room.

She heaved a sighed and pushed the door open instantly, and went in.

" Melody!" Juliet called and the young lady quickly stood up from the couch and arranged her dress immediately.

" Ma'am!" She replied.

" Please leave us." Juliet said.

" Alright!" Melody picked her handbag and waved at Nelson. " I'll be in the sitting room." She said and head to the door.

" No problem!" Replied Nelson standing beside the window.

Juliet walked slowly to where he stood and made to touch him, but Nelson turned to her immediately and she dropped her hands.

" Mom I thought you came here to talk. Why are you silent all of a sudden?" Asked Nelson.

" Why don't you just calm down your temper? I came to talk to you, fine! But I have to take my time." Juliet said and there's a short silence.

Nelson leaned on the wall and took his lips into his mouth.

" Now listen! I know that what he did was wrong, I know that you have the right to be angry about it, but at the same time respect him because he is your father. It......."

" Mother......!" Nelson interrupted.

" Just allow me to finish Nelson. Let me talk." She said and he gulped down and rough his hair.

" Am listening!" He said and leaned on the wall again. Then scoffed, and begin to bites his finger nail.

" He did wrong and he's apologized for it. There's no point for you to threaten to kill him. I mean.......

It was just a mistake and he regret it." Juliet said and Nelson stared at her with furrowed brows.

" Did you just call that a mistake mother?" Nelson asked in surprise. " Someone tried to kill your daughter and you call that a mistake? What are you even saying?" He asked.

" I know you didn't like him from the beginning, and you will never understand anything negative thing that comes from his side, even if he apologizes for it. I mean......" Juliet said with a shrug.

" I will never like him because he's not the kind of person I should like!" Nelson replied. " This man doesn't love you mother, he's just here because of your wealth. My father's wealth!" He added.

" Stop this nonsense Nelson! Stop saying what you don't know. What do you know about love?

Between you and I who should be advising someone about relationship here? Are you insane? How dare you talk to me in such manner?" Juliet asked.

" That's one thing about you mother. You don't listen. You don't listen at all.....!" Nelson said.

" I can never listen to a child that i carried for nine months, who doesn't know the things of this world, but only rants because of the things he thinks is right. For your information Nelson. Donatus is a business man, he has his own money before getting married to me. He didn't marry me because of my wealth, or your father's wealth so to say. You're still a child Nelson. Stop raising your wings. Gosh!" Juliet said and left the room immediately.

"Hmmm....." Nelson grunts. " I feel like laughing, but this is a serious matter and I shouldn't joke with it. I don't blame you! I don't blame you at all, cause I know that you're blinded by love.

You can't see it even if it's glaring. I mean......." He drawled. " Fuck!" He cursed and walked to the bed and sat down.

" What did she say?" Melody asked as she walked into the room.

" What else? It was just a mistake." Nelson replied and rolled his eyes.

" A mistake?" Melody said in surprise and sat beside him. " He threatened to kill her if she tells anyone about it, and she called that a mistake? I mean........."

" Don't bother about it Melody. This is a battle between the both if us. If he's a beast, then I am a demon." Nelson said and tighten his face.
